I have a 7 year old daughter who has ADHD, i have been recommened one of these Brain Rx learning programs for Cognitive skills, the last thing to try before the real meds :( It is a big costly and time investment, but i will trying anything if it will help her - feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Ladies - The clinic is called XY Clinic - if you put in XY Clinic Dubai it Is the first one that comes up. You can contact them directly from here - they will ask you to complete the online assessment first which you can find on their website - for Autism you fill in the Autism spectrum assessment, for ADHD you fill in the brain boosters assessment . So I basically did this before setting up the appointment. the appointment took place at their Diagnostika Medlabs, in Dubiotech ( near the ranches). He will have a chat with you based on the assessment, then her will give you a little pot and test kit to collect your kids urine. This sample gets sent to Europe - it takes approx. 3 weeks to come back with the results - based on this the Doc comes up with a plan. I can't remember the exact cost but it was not crazy prices! Some of the vitamins are standard such as Omega 3, gentle iron, vitamin B1, then there are others such as Gaba, Alpha Lipoic, NAC etc - everyone's plan will be different depending on the finding from the sample collected. At first it is a pain preparing all the vitamins as most are capsules, and some doses are 1/2 a capsule of this mixed with 1/2 a capsule of that etc. After a month I had a good system going, bought empty capsules from the USA, bought a big pill box and went from there. It takes me now 20mins to prepare a weeks worth and this is for 4 times a day. Morning, dinner, 6pm and bed! It takes approx. 2-3 weeks until you start seeing the results - honestly it has been the best thing we have ever done - concentration improved, behavior improved, school work improved - life is for sure much much better. Hi Hen 2016, Have you actually been over and looked at the school? We wanted to move my daughter there last September but unfortunately she failed the assessment as she has ADHD and was too far behind with the curriculum. That being said, had she been offered a place I would have taken it. I loved the feel of the school, small, nice classroom layout, great play area and the teachers I met also seemed very friendly, helpful and enjoyed their job. I do have friends who's children who go to this school, and they are extremely happy with it. This school is very convenient if your going to be living around the Arabian Ranches area. Arabian ranches primary school is also nearby, they have just recently opened, but I can't comment on this one, as I don't know anyone there :)

We also used MedCells (Cells4Life Middle East) - actually they were excellent, came to the hospital when I delivered to pick everything up, the whole process was very smooth. Don't want to appear rude, but cheaper does not necessarily mean better. You only get once chance to get the cells and only one chance to store them. For sure double check and make the comparison with all the companies, on how long they are stored, what gets stored, all the regulations etc etc. Good luck with the birth.

Hi av1988 - have you tried any sort of Vitamin Supplements? My daughter has ADHD, and we went to XY clinic, did a urine sample and basically sent it to a lab in Europe which came back with the results which showed that her neurotransmitters were imbalanced - based on this they give you a plan to take certain vitamins at certain times of the day etc etc. We were almost, going to go down the "real" drug route, but 1 year on I am so glad we didn't, as this has worked pretty well for us. It really has controlled the outburst behavior, home life and school life is much much better. Sorry I know your qu was about therapy, but this may help as well. Just let me know if you want more info.

If you type in Infinity Health Clinic Dubai, should be the first one that comes up - You will find Dr Loubser here, the clinic is based down Jumeirah - He is fantastic, think I would have gone insane without him!!

Hi Sars82 - She grew out after around 7-8 months, especially once a good amount of solids were going down. Seriously get the losec mups, it does not harm them, and you will be able to enjoy these early years with him so much more. He will feel so much better once the pain goes, it is tough on their little bodies silent reflux :(

Yep I live in AR and travel to DIFC for work - it is fine, 20-30mins is about right. If you leave before 7am then then road is clear all the way. Between 7.15 - 8.15 your going to hit some traffic, but it really depends which route you take. Even with a bit of traffic it is nothing major! I have 2 kids at Repton, so it is pretty much leave around 7am, drop off kids on route and be at DIFC before 8am. AR is a great place to live your pretty much central to going everywhere in every direction within 20-30mins. :)

So a small update - I believe she is on route to Dubai this evening and will be landing tomorrow sometime from the Philippines. Clearly she is not aware of her ban as it was imposed after she left - so I am not sure what happens - will she be turned away and sent back home at immigration? Or will they let her in and then the problem arises when some poor family go to do her sponsorship and they realize it is not possible due to the Ban. Be careful everyone!

Yep afraid I agree with all the comments - especially the Maid cv site - they are not checked or referenced etc, as I can confirm this 100% as my ex stealing lying nanny is advertised on here looking for new work! Actually at the moment we are going through an agency called Housekeeping co - and we are just using there daily service, but I really feel as though they are true to their word with their checks, training etc. The lady Denise who runs the company is very straight, upfront and no messing and for sure no BS! I believe they do offer to do all the background checks / training and can get you a fulltime live in - not sure what their cost is to do this for you - maybe worth checking. I will be bumping up my last post, to make sure everyone is aware of when taking someone on!

They can get visit visa's so quickly now, so many companies here in Dubai can do it so on urgent basis for a few extra dhs, especially if they have family already here. Yes this is what they told us at the immigration at the airport, because she had more than 3+ years of service with us. So we had to go to the main branch to do it at Al Jaffliya.

The worst part of all of this is that in my new search to find someone who is a female, has a UAE driving license, I went onto one of these Maid CV websites in Dubai and one of the people that came up was her!!! This company says all their maids are screened, checked and hand picked - really have to be very careful, cause clearly I was never contacted about her background!

Cut a very long story short our female house maid of many years, was deported last week for lying and stealing! After the whole shenanigans with the police, the easiest option was to deport her. We could not Ban her physically at the airport due to her long service with us - with have since applied for the Ban, but she may just have got back in to Dubai before this happened! She is looking for a role as driver or a nanny. Please all be careful, she really can not be trusted. She is very nice on the surface but underneath there really is a devious calculated lady. So she will be on a visit visa so be wary. Double and triple check her references, especially the sponsor name that appears on her cancelled visa in her passport. Make sure you get references and that the name match's the sponsor name on her passport - please ask the ex employers for copies of the cancellation paper work - otherwise they can easily give you a fake reference, or even better a story that the employer left the country - which in my book, still does not mean they are not contactable! She pretty much acted as though she was in a super market and took all sorts of items at her will - wish now that we had just let the police arrest her regardless of the hassle it would have created for us.

Was just about to post a new topic about housemaids - please be careful, or ex nanny/driver who we sent back to the Philippines may come back to Dubai - she is a very unpleasant lady - very nice on the surface etc - but behind your back she will steal from you and lie to you - She has a cancelled visa and most likely coming back to Dubai on a visit visa - please make sure you check all the references and cross check the past employer she gives you a reference for is the real deal and not some fake reference. Funnily I noticed that my ex - housemaid is now advertising herself on a maid cv site here in Dubai. This site says all their ladies are hand picked and screened - this clearly shows that, this comment is a load of rubbish!!!

Hi Sars82 - we had the same issue last year, we went to Dr Loubser at infinity clinic - we started on something called Losec Mups, crush the tablet and mix with apple puree - we tried the usual gaviscon etc and nothing worked, after approx. 1 week it started work, and life became so much better!
