Hi First of all congratz for the baby. I think you can go ahead with option 2, renewing your husbands passport and getting it through DHL. Also, check with typing centre if you really need to renew passport/ visa, 6 months in advance to have baby's residence visa. I know if baby is sponsored by husband, so it will be hassle for his company to renew baby's visa once your husband renews his passport & visa. probably they want to avoid the rework. in terms of time taken 0 It takes 4-5 days to get baby's birth certificate.Plus passport may be another 6 weeks and visa takes 2 days.

Well, if you have a family of 4 or more its worth in terms of money. Bargain a lot and check every piece before buying - since they sell in bulk, u dont get to pick and choose much. I usually go once a week, some of the quality is better than supermarkets.

Hi, Yes you need to abide by the rules, my husband has sponsored his parents and I can help with the process and they are very strict by it. Still you can try applying for the visa. 1) 3 months UAE bank statements - We had to wait for 3 months for this. 2) Labor contract or salary certificate(for freezone) 3) Letter from Indian embassy stating that there is no one in India to take care of parents. You can go to BLS India office and they will help you with this document. 4) Insurance - since now insurance is compulsory 5) Filled up form 6) Passport and visa copies 7) You need to apply for both your parents 8) Rent Agreement and EJARI Certificate (Min 2 BHK) You need to go to Humanitarian desk and submit application with all documents, and there is good probability that they will not accept application if criteria isnt met, but you can still try. You will get a sms within 7 days if your application is accepted and than you need to go again to apply for entry visa which you will get right away. I would suggest try 3 months visit or tourist visas and keep renewing them by entering/exiting.

Hi Congratz and all the best for the final phase. I have delivered with Dr Elsa on 16th Jan and it has been amazing experience. Yes we did pay charges in advance for the delivery, it was 10000 AED i think. We paid them about a month in advance. And they had secured prior insurance approval on behalf of City Hospital and everything was pretty smooth. When my water broke, i rushed to maternity ward of city hospital and registered as in-patient and told them my doctor is Dr Elsa and everything was taken care off. Midwife informed the doctor and did the necessary checks etc. Dr Elsa lives close by and would rush to hospital if needed. I wasnt asked for additional any blood tests, only one check was done for epidural i think. The staff at city hospital and Dr Elsa are both amazing and you don't have to worry about anything. Hope it helps :) Enjoy the journey !

Hey First of all congrats :) We used Medcells (Cells4Life UK) for stem cell banking, I did a quick comparison and found Cells4Life better. But lots of people use Smartcells too. We paid 17k AED for the platinum package (Full blood and tissue storage) You can negotiate prices a bit and subscribe for a Marhaba Baby Box - It usually gives a discount of 500 AED. Yes, companies in India are cheaper but they are not regulated or insured if something goes wrong financially. UK is governed and regulated for stem cell banking with specific licenses issued to store stem cells/ cord tissue.

what is the current rule on husband sponsoring the wife ? can the wife application be submitted at the same time as the husband visa ? what documents are needed ? we got married in dubai but not attested by our embassies what is the current rule on husband sponsoring the wife ? Your husband's monthly salary should not be less than AED 4000 or AED 3000 + accommodation. No, wifes application cannot be submitted as same time as husband visa. DEWA Electricity bill and EJARI ( Rent ) contracts are needed to apply for wife s visa. Best option would be to get a 90 day initial visit visa to travel to Dubai and convert the same to residency visa later on. If you come on a tourist visa, you need to exit and enter UAE again. Below are the documents needed - Marriage Certificate attested from UAE Embassy in Home Country and Foreign Affairs in UAE. Tenancy Contract, Electricity Bill and EJARI. If you live out of Dubai, Municipality attested Tenancy Contract and Electricity Bill are required. Labour Contract (Dh3000 + Accommodation or Dh4000). No need attestation. Salary Certificate (for Free zone/ Govt. Staff) Costs Visa Fee Dh360 (typing charge extra) should be paid at Typing Centre. Dh220 should be paid at Immigration for file opening charge Additional 500-600 Dh for converting visit visa to resident visa if you come to Dubai using visit visa.

Hi Congrats :) :) I am seeing Dr Elsa currently, what I can suggest is call Dr Elsa on 3rd morning, you will hopefully get an appointment in next 4-5 days.I have my next appointment on 3rd morning. Please note that Dr Elsa doesnt have direct billing with insurance companies. Please avoid blood tests unless you see a doctor and if you want to get the tests done - go to city hospital - they will be directly billed/charged to your insurance so you will also know if your insurance is supporting maternity claims. I was in a similar situation in July with none of the doctors available during Eid. I have met Dr Purnima, she seemed nice to me but once I got Dr Elsa's appointment, I started seeing Dr Elsa. PS - I have SAICO insurance and on the card itself its mentioned that maternity claims are covered.

Hey Congratz on your pregnancy !!! You can compare health insurance on this site - https://www.bayzat.com/ It will cost roughly around 20-23k AED for the complete pregnancy including hospital bills. Best would be to buy maternity insurance and deliver the baby in Dubai rather than travelling back. I am not sure if with residency you get any insurance covers, I got my residency about 4-5 months back and I dont remember getting any insurance covers. Also, if you have an existing insurance from Ireland, you can check for International Insurance, it will help to save costs. Secondly, I got my insurance(SAICO) before I got a resident visa (though its through my husband's company), so you can check with insurance companies on whether you need residency to procure health insurance. And once again all the best for your pregnancy !!

Hi I live in JBR (3BR + maid - we dont use 1BR at all) and below is the break-up of the costs - 1) DEWA - Electricity - You pay 5% of monthly rent as fixed charge (higher the rent - higher this cost and about 200 AED for electricity/ water consumption charges per month. 2) Empower Cooling - Air conditioning in JBR is handled by a private company and is not part of Electricty/ Water bills. We pay about 750 AED every quarter as fixed charge and average 200 AED per month as the bill, so roughly 450 AED per month. FYI - Our next biggest fixed expense per month is TV/Internet. Hope this helps.

I am not sure when did refurbishment start - I went to Terminal 1 on Nov 1 to pick up my parents and there was a waiting area with proper seating and Costa cafe open. There were some areas which were still closed, but both this places were open.

Hi I am delivering with Dr Elsa, she is tied up with Mediclinic City hospital Dubai. You can do maternity ward/ NICU ward tours with each of the hospital and decide.

Hello everyone, Your forum/site was recommended to us by a friend because we really need some honest advice about a job offer my husband has received for a teaching job in Abu Dhabi: Basic Salary is 15,000AED p/m Accommodation Allowance is 11,600AED p/m Medical Insurance, airfare included That works out at about 26,000 AED p/m (or 320,000 p/y). He will also get a relocation allowance of 20,000AED. Is that enough for us (married couple with no kids) to live on and save? Or would we be living on a tight budget? I won't work at the start, though I will later if I can find something. The set up costs are another big worry because a loan would mean we're not really saving much, and that makes the whole move pointless. Oh and the job is with Adveti...what are they like? He's read some bad reviews from teachers so this is also making us wary. Any advice would be appreciated :) Hey For a normal couple with a car with a good lifestyle - living expense would be around 10-11K AED, with around 700-800 AED of shopping and eating out every-month. Now, you can spend extravagantly in Dubai and save nothing. On housing, I would suggest you better stick to your budget and opt for a decent 1BHK instead of 2BHK in a very good locality or stay in a decent locality and opt for a 2 BHK instead. You can still save about 5-6AED, calculate the same versus your current job/ location and make the call.
