Hi ladies, Lovely to be on this forum. I am just doing a little bit of research really. My name is Nikki, i have recently moved to Dubai and have found that there are few antenatal classes, which cover the same topics as they do in england. I also noticed the absence of postnatal visits. I am a qualified midwife, with experience delivering antenatal classes, postnatal visits and breastfeeding support. This is really something i want to provide here for expat mums to be/new mums. I am really wanting to create a business which is a community, to provide affordable antenatal education and provide home visits and breastfeeding support. Does anyone think they would be interested in this? Nikki xx can you let me details also. thanks.

I would say go to Latifa's hospital or Rashid or Dubai hospital. But Latifa is the best hospital of them all. Long years back I gave birth to one of my children in Al Wasl hospital- Latifa hospital now- and it was great. Latifa hospital have premature baby ward that even private hospitals back then used to send them to wasl hospital. As per charges it's waaaaay less than any private hospital here. Plus for the very first 2 year of your baby life all vaccines are free. Go to Latifa if they accepted you, you must be lucky to be able to do your pregnancy checks over there then giving birth over there. Congratulations ! thank you Gorobattie. yes i went there 3 times so far and the only issue is every time another doctor will see you. you never have the same dr . now they say i have to go to their clinic near my house .i live in wasl road so i need to go to safa clinic to continue checkups and consultations. and problem is they dont have direct billing with my insurance. but only i heard later is any complications or early delivery then Latifa is the best. and if i dont continue with them then later they may not accept me. i dont know . :(

Congratulations, I delivered in City hospital both babies. I did go through the whole birthing situation with my friend who did not have the luxury of being able to afford private hospitals. I had to help her through the labour as men (Husband) is not allowed, at that point I said No Way would I go to Latifa. I want my husband through every minute. I thought the hospital looked dated to say the least. Go to City hospital tour, that will help you decide. I heard good things about Al Zahra also. thank you pinkdiamondz. there are good things and bad things for laifa and private hospitals . i am just scared if any complications happen later . people say if in case of complications all private hospitals send the person to Latifa and if you dont have file there then problem. i dont know i am really confused and worried as well. thanks again for your reply.

hi. i had a miscarriage too 1 month ago. i started bleeding then i went to my dr she confirmed that the heart beat is stopped . it was very difficult for me but it happened, then she asked for D&C and i was in shock so i accepted so i had to go to hospital next day to do . when i came home at night i consulted with 2 doctors and they both told me you shouldn't go for D&C as i was only 7 weeks and D&C has many side effects, they were shocked that my dr asked me for that . so i called my dr and cancelled. after 2 days i started cramping and after a heavy pain i miscarried naturally. after 1 week i went for sono in another dr and she confirmed miscarried completely. i think you should wait till it happens naturally if not then you can go for D&C. i hope everything goes fine with you . i know how much painful is the lose. my prayers with you.

I too did ivf with Roya at fakih (Ghina was away on my cd2 - she was my first choice). Now pregnant in the first go with twins! Very expensive yes.. I did overstimulate (Ohss). And didn't feel like I had much discussion regarding embryo transfer as we wanted to transfer 1 but felt pressurized to go with both. Only wish they froze the embryos.. Good luck xx hi Aquarius2016 , please share your experience with Dr. Roya. i want to go to her but need to know how is she? i was pregnant 6 weeks but unfortunately miscarried so sad and dnt know the reason. so thought of see dr Roya. will appreciate your experience. thanks.

No insurance is not a good thing for starters in Dubai but seeing you are in this situation already try a government hospital and ask for their prices. Otherwise best bet is the country you came from if you cannot afford the government fees either. thank you for your reply. actually i prefer to deliver here but dont know which dr or hospital is good. i can take packages in private hospitals but can any one recommends me a good dr in a good hospital in dubai? or latifa hospital is good to deliver?
