Dear ladies, I'm reaching out to the moms who've undergone a c section - how soon did you start a work out routine ? and what was the intensity. There is little information out there regarding this topic and if the information that is available -there are so many variations. I have scheduled an appointment with my doc to discuss this, but would love to hear what other moms have to say on this topic and appreciate their valuable advice. TIA. Hi, after 6 weeks they recommend you wait until starting exercise, I found I was still quite sore at 6 weeks and just started exercising when u felt up to it. You will go for your 6 week check up and and the dr will check your scar.

I had Dr. Amber last year - September, ended up with an emergency c-section. al Zahra emergency was a bad experience but when I was moved to the labour room I had nothing but the best care. Dr. Amber is really good! Highly recommend her. She always made me feel relaxed and gave me the best care at every appointment. However, she didn't think it was necessary to do a gluclose test for gestational diabetes, even though we have family history. While Dr.Amber was away I had another Dr. Order the test and I actually had gestational diabetes.. just make sure you have all your necessary tests done and you will have a good experience!

Hi I'm Australian and got my U.A.E liscence yesterday. You need to get your liscence translated to Arabic , there are a few companies that can do this for you for a fee (my husbands work organised mine) they also wanted to see my Passport and Emirates I.D. I had an eye test at the Center (30aed) and liscence cost 200aed which I recieved right then and there

Hi ladies, thinking about going for a massage, going blonde, keratin treatment , blow dry and cut and doing nails... Would you recommend beauty within or any other salon? Thanks Hi, I recommend posh ladies beauty salon - always have specials going and the service is excellent. I went last week and had 5 services for 250AED - roots colour, blow dry, mani, pedi and threading! Such a good price

Thank you so much for all your helpful advice. I am already feeling much much better. I got myself up and dressed and out the apartment. Even an hour or two out makes the day go faster and I am starting to enjoy it. I need to forget about the things I miss so much and focus on the new things that Dubai has given me. Thank you all and have a great Easter break bye: Hi sportzmom, I get homesick a lot too! I had a big group of close girlfriends and I worked back home. I recently moved here for hubbys work, I am pregnant with my first child so I am not working so i have found it difficult to make friends. I have found that if I go out it makes the day go fast but sometimes I just feel sad and don't want to leave the apartment! If you ever feel like meeting up or going for lunch let me know :) Riss

Hi ladies, I've recently moved to Dubai and looking to meet other ladies around 25-35 (kids / no kids / working / not working ) I enjoy going for a drink or lunch / shopping / beach / movies etc.. I did go to the coffee meet up but like I've read in other threads most of the ladies had groups that they stuck with and although everyone I met was lovely most of them had children that were my age, so we didn't really have too much in common. Are there any other meet up groups that I can go to that I meet people around my age group? Yeah there is a website called Meetups, which I am guilty of being a member of for about 2 years and yet to make it to an event on there  I am 30, work, married, no kids, from the UK and would be keen to meet, it is quite hard to arrange over here when you can't put up personal information! I keep saying I will make the Expat Woman evening event as I cant make the coffee mornings, maybe I will try the next one they hold! Hey Gev, Not sure how we can arrange to get in contact as you work and can't go to the coffee mornings and I won't be in Dubai for the next evening EW event either. BUT I would like to get in contact with you. Hmmm whats a womens meetup group you are in? Maybe I can join the same one and send you a message there? S. Hey! I am a member of a few groups on there, but if you join 'Crafting Female Friendships', and go to their most recent event which is tonight at Horizon Lounge in Habtoor, I have just put a comment in that event :) I am the one explaining I will make it to the next event! Look forward to hearing from you! :) Hi Gev, I didn't see your message but I have joined meet ups but it looks like I was too late to see your comment :( I will get your details from Miss_S Riss

Hey, I found the same, i've been to some meet up groups but they're either a bit above my age group or aimed more at singles/ladies nights. I've just joined the MeetUps website and Expat Connect so hope to find more there. I'm also in the marina, and child-free :) Hi desert Squirrel, are you working? Maybe we could meet at the coffee morning next Monday in the marina? At Costa?

Hi Riss, I am also new to Dubai, I'm 31, Australian, no kids, engaged. I enjoy going for coffee/drinks/lunch/dinner etc hehe this feels like a dating website thing. I'd be happy to meet to see if we share some similar interests. I've been to a few coffee meetings and have also met some lovely people, it is hard to make a connection though, so I understand that. I found though at the evening one there are more people in that age bracket you mention, but it is only once a month (I've only been to 1 so far). I joined on meetup as well and as Chrissy says you can choose the groups of interest. There are plenty of women ones too. If you want you can add me or send me a msg on FB just search sarannaxx S. Hi Miss_s, It does feel like dating haha! Are you working? When are you available for a meet up? Do you live in the marina area? I tried to search your FB and no luck.. You can search for me under Faulkner - wearing a grey dress! I will look up the meet up page! Thanks :) its a shame we can't just message people on here, but anyway. S

Hi Riss I'm also Australian (and fall smack bang in the middle of you age bracket), and will be moving to Dubai at the start of July. My husband is going for work at the end of March, and he'll be working a lot, so I'm very keen to get in touch with people around my age. It seems so far away, but this year is just slipping away, and I'd love to meet up once I arrive ? My husband also works a lot of hours! Hopefully I will have found my feet by the time you have arrived and I can tell you & show you what I know :) This year is flying by! Can't wait to meet you!

Not sure how you feel about sleeping tablets? Maybe see a GP or even go to the chemist - they might have a natural remedy?

Where are you ladies living? I am a working mum as well living in the Marina end. I would like to meet other working ladies, just for a casual meal with some Entertainer vouchers or something similar. Hi Vera, I am also living in the marina area - not working. Would love to meet up casually for lunch / coffee dates.

Hello, We've just arrived and are in the process of getting a lease settled on a place in Green Community West. We've shipped most of our furniture and appliances but still need to purchase some items: kids beds/bunks, desks, coffee tables, probably another sofa etc. We also need to get an oven/range and a dishwasher. Where are good places to go to get these things? We're pretty certain that there must be deals out there, but have no idea where to start looking! Can you help? Hi we are in the same situation and checked out a few places for prices and found 'The home centre' to be the best value for money and better quality.. They also deliver if you spend over 2000 AED. You can find the home centre at mall of Emirates or online

Hi Ladies, I'm new and also haven't met anyone. I am going to go to tomorrow's coffee meet up at the marina - hopefully some other newbies come along so I'm not the odd one out! Would love to meet you all. My husband is also working 12 hours a day so it's getting pretty lonely.
