You need to thank that school nurse! I didn't find out I had it until I was 32 when my back went out but remember being tested when I was younger, guess I didn't have such a good nurse. I am now 3.9 cm shorter with back and stomach core problems. There is a reason they check kids early - they have time to change the outcome. Like said, I would avoid surgery and you MUST do the exercise. I have now have more curve than your DD, but as her bones adjust, she will have other issues like bunions. PS- I will soon be the lady that walks crooked. My friends used to tease me that I leaned in photos even thou I was standing straight and now I know why!

They are popular in the US to encourage walking for babies correctly from heel to toe. My daughter loved them so worked for us. There is a button so you can switch off or sound is removable. Sorry I have only seen them in US, maybe you can order from the website and shop and ship. http://squeakyshoeboutique.com/category_1/Shop-Girls.htm

Good to hear! Do you know any Townhouses coming available? We saw one but it wasn't maintained very well but there doesn't seem to be anymore on the market. ugh... Trying to decide if we should just take it or wait and see if another one becomes available.

Also look at how she is at home. Does she follow directions with you? What about trying other areas like swim class, ballet or gymnastics where she has she has to follow instructions, how does she do? If she has issues in these areas as well as school then consider seeing someone, but if not save your $ and would focus on what is going on in the classroom. My daughter is "in fairyland as well" so I try to exercise her listening skills creatively thru the above, crafts or games.

Hi SunDevil! Yes we're American and we have actually met before. My DD thinks it is just for boys so hopefully we won't be the only girl or I might have to pull her along. Can you tell me if the kids need cleats or will running shoes do? Where would we get a glove in Dubai??? Do they provide bats?? Ugh, wishing I would of bought these while we were in the USA this summer! Thanks!

Not sure what type of account you are interested in but one of our accounts is with Vanguard and might work for you. You will need to open an account before you leave and have a US address. The account is setup for paperless so is completely handled via the internet in Dubai and we make deposits via a US bank account. Hope that helps and good luck with the move!

I am thinking about signing up my DD for T-ball to get her more active. Can anyone let me know about the little league and would a girl be OK or is it very competitive?? Thanks!

We are American and DD is in KG1 at CAS. Her teacher doesn't teach from the computer but uses it to reinforce what she has taught (ie leapfrog letter sound videos during rest time). They do have a IT class with another teacher in a seperate class once a week. I think they increase the usage the older the kids get. Her class has 2 assistants and 1 teacher with 22 kids - so lots of help which is a plus and the teacher can focus on teaching. Overall I am happy with CAS (a few hiccups at the start) but was able to get her in ASD for next year so we will be moving her since the school was my first choice for future years but would of been fine staying at CAS. If you need any more advice with the move send me your email and I will help you as much as I can.

I maybe wrong now - but I thought the original rent was good for 2 years. So they won't be able to increaase this year but can next year. Ours tried to increase the first year until I responded with the rules of RERA. They then sent a new lease with no increase. They will always try so you have to know the rules:-)

My issue wasn't only in that grade, but with others as well. But just to note on your comment, The Director was also a teacher (only spending 1/2 day in the class room with assitants filling in) all year until a couple of weeks ago, so how is that rectified right away as I know many parent complained for months? Not every school is for everyone, just glad we were offered other options for my children.

On Cobone, I ordered the Aramax Shop and Ship for 50% off and they said that Aramax was to send a code via email by June 1. I still haven't received it and after 4 emails to Cobone and Aramax, no response. I have ordered from cobone before but will no longer since they are not providing any service.

They also have a FastPass that can help with the long lines. It helped us! Below is the info for you. http://kingdommagictravel.com/disneyworld/theme_parks/fastpass.htm Edited to say that because you are going towards the end of August, lines may not be terrible since many US schools start around the 17th of August. <em>edited by jules22 on 25/04/2011</em>

HK - "Each year is designed for an age-group and, if executed well, will cater for everyone within that group" Then why do different schools have different dates in the same cirriculam? I am just trying to write a list of all the pros and cons so not trying to argue with you.

Thought I would share the US "Step" program for those that might need it as well. The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) is a free service provided by the U.S. Government to U.S. citizens who are traveling to, or living in, a foreign country. https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs/ui/

These cities are also low on crime but are usually close to a major city. I think you will get snow in all of the cities since McKinney, Tx is close to Dallas and they do get snow. I have a sister in Eden Prairie with 2 kids and they love it! Schools are great and very family oriented next to St Paul and Minneapolis. Love the 4 seasons! I could never deal with the snow - but hey some think we are crazy to live in the heat!

DD's K1 teacher was from Louisiana, and DD picked up her accent within a few weeks....it was very strong. I think your child may pick up the accent and not sure that you can do much about it....and it will linger for a long time. Wow, I am from Louisiana and happen to love my southern accent!! I don't think you are comparing apples to apples in this scenario. My daughter started pronouncing words incorrectly since the 2 assistances mispronounced several words. That should be your worry.

"After all ... tomorrow is another day" is a quote I say often when I have had a bad day!! But love - "As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me! I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again! No, nor any of my folk. If I have to lie, steal, cheat or kill! As God is my witness, I'll never be hungry again! "

I have bought many items while living in the states and were very happy. When I tried to purchase from Dubai, I had trouble with my paypal account and couldn't order. I think I was having issues with the billing address but then my account got frozen and paypal requested I call them to reactivate. Too much effort for hair bows for my daughter. So I found a seller with a website and I was able to purchase with a visa. I love Esty as well! <em>edited by jules22 on 26/01/2011</em>

But when our grandparents were having 14 children, they didn't have all of them so close in age! Managing so many babies is too much for 1 person, even with a helper. I get upset thinking of the babies not getting the attention/love that they deserve. Do you think they would be better off being adopted and seperated? I don't know the answer but just a thought.
