Anyone stayed on the North East coast of Zanzibar?

The travel advice I have received on this forum over the years has always been spot on.....so here goes again!
We are travelling to Zanzibar at the end of next month. My son and husband will be diving so my research tells me that the north east coast is a good place to stay.
Any hotel recommendations for a family (teenagers) would very much be appreciated.
Have looked at Sunshine hotel and Double Tree hotel...anyone stayed there?
Any other info welcome. Thanks
