I would want someone to tell me. In a situation now where I am sure my maid is going to try and work part-time eventually and worried sick...the consequences for the innocent sponsor are huge...just me, but I would want to know.

OMG...just wasted a morning driving around trying to get my maid a medical. Partly my own fault as I drove all the way back from Jumeirah to Arabian Ranches assuming (big mistake) I knew what form I had forgotten at the medical centre only to discover that in actual fact I needed a typist to type us a health form before we go for the medical. SURELY, this is something they could do when they type up the visa documents in the first place!!! Am I going crazy???!!!! Have to wait till Sunday now. Grrr...

Thanks for all the comments. Thought I'd share my findings from the lat few days of trawling through garages (yawn!!). Here are cars that have isofix (7 or 8-seaters), check year and model just in case though... Toyota Prado Hyundi SantaFe Ford Explorer Chevrolet Traverse Mazda CX-9 Honda Pilot Currently, I am between the Chvrolet and Mazda...I am sure there are loads more out there...just not a given in the UAE.

Thanks for the reply. I like the Prado but was maybe hoping for something a little less expensive.

I am also looking. We are based at Arabian Ranches. We have a 16 month daughter and will we will provide a good salary, accommodation, food, flights home, day off a week etc.... We are new to Dubai but as we both work we will need additional help around the house. My daughter goes to nursery so babysiting would only be occasionally in the evenings. Cooking would be a big plus. We are a really nice family and are looking for someone who we can integrate into our family lives. Does anyone know of anyone? My number is 05055 39951. Stargazelily, I hope you had success.

I know this must be a frequently asked question but I thought I would give it a go. I have just moved to Arabian Ranches and I am looking for a recommendation for house help. Part-time will do for a start but ideally I am looking to find a live-in housekeeper. We will treat them well and provide good salary, flight home, etc. My husband and I have a 15 month daughter but she will actually be at nursery when I am at work so any childcare would be ad hoc babysitting. Please get in touch if you know of anyone. In the meantime, can anyone recommend a good agency for part-time. Many thanks, SilkyN P.S. This is my first post, but I am sure it won't be my last.... edited by SilkyN on 12/08/2011

Hi there, I have just moved to Arabian ranches and I am looking for a recommendation for a live-in housekeeper? Is she still looking? There is me and my husband, plus our 15 month daughter. I would appreciate any recommendations. Regards, SilkyN
