When I first arrived I gave up the search for my dream job and took a crappy one. After 12 months I was able to get some Dubai experience and was much more attractive to Dubai employers. I've now been in my dream job for 2 years! I think the longer you're out of the job market the more difficult it is to rejoin.

My DH was lucky enough to receive an expensive watch for a recent milestone birthday...however it's automatic (self winding). After the initial novelty, he is now growing tired of the daily watch winding routine. I would like to get him a watch winder for Christmas, but the only ones I can seem to find cost more than the watch it's meant for. I've tried the major online retailers but nobody seems to deliver to the UAE. Any help or advice on where I could purchase a reasonably priced device would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

I often like or put a nice comment on a photo that (in my opinion) may not be the most flattering...but if it makes someone happy and feel good about themselves then why not? I assume that they've obviously posted it to seek some kind of praise.

This is the page I've been looking for! I was directed here by the lovely ladies who are worried about the cost of housing and grocery prices now that Dubai will host the expo in 2020. Enough of the negativity. This is a great thing for Dubai and the region. Let's celebrate!

Why can't we rejoice in the festivities instead of airing these pessimistic views? All your views are based on assumptions and not fact. If you feel that your landlord has increased your rent unfairly then take him/her to the rent committee. If the cost of living gets too high then maybe it's time to look at downsizing or living elsewhere. Complaining about it on the forum won't change anything. These are the issues of the global economy, not just Dubai and its expo win.

How about you just raise it with him? You're obviously upset about it and keeping this animosity between you can't be healthy. In my opinion it's better to get these things out in the open before they turn into something worse.
