Hi dra, it's drc No, I haven't commited to coming. We just remain uncomfortable with coming for a job that doesn't really exist yet. If the hospital was done and there wasn't management firing and building issues we would be there in a heartbeat. It's difficult to give up a reasonable existing job for a job that still remains only a potential, although we love the idea of it all. Plus the increasing unrest in Gulf is a bit of a worry too. Sigh....if only things were clearer.

Hello everyone. I have only posted a few times to the Sidra forum, but am interested in getting an idea about how many of us following developments at this hospital are female physicians. I am a Canadian OB/GYN and would like to know what other specialities (and OB/GYN too !) might have female physicians within their departments in Sidra Medical. Thanks for sharing !

We would be moving from BC. But we have significant concerns about the school situation and remain uncertain. Will find you if we ever decide ! C.

Thank you for all the info. It's difficult to get a feel for things there from afar even though everyone involved in the Sidra project does seem very helpful. My husband is also a physician, so we are not too worried about his sponsorship and work possibilities. The school issue is a concern and we know someone whose contract has a clause about not coming unless his children get certain school spots - we are considering this too, as it seems that school is a tricky issue there. Anyhow, thanks so much for your info. Always appreciated. Dr. C

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm finding it difficult to assess the professional options for a female Canadian OB in Doha. Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you ! Dr. C
