Hi I am moving to the qanat quartier very soon. Are there any mums with babies there? Hi, We were supposed to move there but the agent was useless and wasn't going to meet the deadline so we went with another one for a flat in one of Sabban Towers so we live accross the road from you. Please feel free to email me on: Would be nice to meet up :)

Please tell me that the person who said this to me is wrong. We went to immigration today to submit some documents. My husband asked about exchanging his license so I asked if I could also exchange mine one I have my RP. The lady smiled and replied: no, not for wives. You have to take lessons here and do your tests. I was in shock. I made so much effort to pass the test the day before we left London because I read online that it can be exchanged. Is she right? Or should I just go ahead and start the process with the traffic and transport department once I have my RP? Thank you

Hi, We got here couple of weeks ago and are staying at West bay now. My husband is working at the Gate so can actually walk to work but we went to view some properties at the Pearl recently including Sabban Towers, Viva Bahriya, Qanat Quartier and others. It's nice to have some facilities and the swimming pool used to be a deal breaker for us but after visiting QQ we loved the location and the space. We met one of the residents who had no complaints at all about the place (only thing, the beach gets crowded on Fridays). Now since it's slightly cheaper than other places we figured out that we can afford to join the Diplomatic Club which looks really great and it's like 3 min drive from QQ. We also need to make a decision soon and it's so confusing. I hope that we are making the right judgement. Good luck. My email is: if you would like to get in touch.

Hi all, we will move to doha end of month... is that possible to get apartment in west bay within 12-13k? I'm looking semi-furnished with 2BR... Sound impossible? Any apartment recommended? I read from some other forum critic on Zig Zag n The Pearl are NOT GO selection, any idea? What did you read about the Pearl? We have some viewings booked because we are not sure where else to look. Reading some good reviews abt Garraffa here so might have a look.

Hi Thea117 Ive just been sent a price list for Kempinski's 2 bedroom apt (lower floors) which start at 18,000. That's great. I am sure you will like it if you decide to stay here..

We are staying at the Kempinski for a month (1 bedroom) and it's very nice. They have all the facilities that you might need and it's very close to the shopping centre. I met few moms today in the playroom and some of them have been living here for 2 years but I am not sure if you get 2 bed for 18000. We are also looking for an apartment in West Bay so will be watching your post. Good luck. edited by Thea117 on 31/08/2014

Hi, I will be moving to Doha on Thursday. I used to work as a private language tutor in London and I hope to be able to do the same once in Qatar but I will only be able to do weekends. edited by Thea117 on 26/08/2014

Hi ladies, Would appreciate some help with this. My DH will start work in Qatar next month. He is a British citizen. I am an Australian national and our baby is a British citizen. We were told that he will be getting the visa in the next couple of weeks. My son and I then go to the airport and receive a 30 day visa. My husband gets the Residence Permit 2 weeks later and then he sponsors us to get ours a week later. I was told that I have to take a medical for the residence permit. We were also told that for my residence permit and that of my son, we will need a marriage certificate and a birth certificate, both attested by the Qatari embassy in London. My question is: [b'>is a Civil Marriage certificate acceptable? [/b'> (we have a religious certificate, but we were married in a different country and there is no way we can fly there in the next couple of weeks to have the marriage certificate attested there by the Qatari embassy! so we were thinking of just doing a civil ceremony here in the UK asap)
