I haven't heard that at all. In fact just the reverse. That I might be going in April or May. If Sidra wasn't opening until next year then why have me and others get all our paperwork done now? I was contacted by Sidra about one last thing to send to them just 12 hrs ago. And wouldn't that make the news? The Peninsula etc? I got the same email about the delay yesterday- not happy was hoping to go soon!:(

Would be great if we could catch up before going over may be we should set a place and date to meet for those in Auckland! I'm ex Starship

Hi darang Sorry i didn't mean testimonials I meant transcripts This is what they've asked for for my registration: Copies of Transcripts of Nursing Training (for the degrees/diplomas obtained as per above) These must specify the name of course, dates of training, subjects taken, grades achieved for each subject and (ideally) the hours. Dont know what to do about getting these?

Hi PetkoNZ The Criminal record can be attested in Canberra. Take 20 working days to apply for here then when you get it you send it to Internal affairs to be certified then send it to the Qatar Embassy to be attested,so will take a while!!! Its taking for ever to the nursing registration paperwork. my other problem is they want testimonial from where I trained and the Hospitals I trained at in the UK have both closed! I applied for the position directly with the Hospital but I have a few friends also going over and they've gone through Geneva. edited by PJ11 on 11/01/2015

I'm worried about my nursing registration too, as I'm unable to sit the exam in New Zealand- the recruiting team have said its OK to do it once i get there -that's a bit scarey, supposing I fail! My other option is to fly to Australia to do it, but that's expensive and Sidra wont reimburse that. Are any other Kiwis in this situation. Also how did you go about getting your criminal record attested? did you send it to Australia as there is no Embassy in New Zealand?

Hi PJ11 I'm from Hawke's Bay, NZ heading over to Sidra early next year and I spoke to an accountant friend who has dealt with clients working overseas. If you own a home you will have to pay some NZ tax (not sure what as I don't own a home)...any ties with NZ like children at boarding school etc makes you liable for some tax. If you don't have any ties you must be out of the country for at least 325 days otherwise you will be taxed if you enter the country prior to that, even for a holiday or a funeral you will have to declare all your earnings within that particular financial year. Also I was advised not to file a NZ tax return if I leave NZ before 31 March 2015 until January 2016 at the earliest, otherwise you are liable to declare whatever earnings you have made prior to 31 March 2015 whether it was in NZ or Qatar...lots of pitfalls out there and best you get all the advise you can. I would love to keep in touch if you head over as it's pretty hard trying to find other kiwis heading over. I'm going to an Ambulatory Clinic. Hope this is helpful? PetkoNZ I'm from New Zealand and talking to my accountant- because I have a house in NZ and grown up children Ill be classed as a NZ Tax resident, all my Sidra Income would be taxed under the NZ 'World Wide' Tax laws- so what they offer me will have to be a good one to make it worthwhile. Has any one also from NZ has experience with. edited by PetkoNZ on 17/11/2014

Hi I'm from NZ and was offered a Ambulatory nursing role back in April. I have only just received a provisional offer this week. This has been very slow and the communication hasn't been the best, in fact pretty non-existent! BUT I am still super excited. I am really keen to hear from any other Kiwis heading over?
