I found the Prometric test centers information via this site useful, basically it has the locations where you can sit the supreme council of health exams for General nurse scope http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/expat-arab-nurse/prometric-centers-for-general-scope-nurse-test-accepting-supreme-council-of-health-in-qatar/ also practice questions and answers also helpful here http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/expat-arab-nurse/expat-nurses-supreme-council-of-health-prometric-exam-sample-questions/

Also just saw this online,http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/qatar-health-news/sidra-medical-research-centre-staff-housing-on-the-outskirt-of-doha/ it looks like there is a reason why sidra is offering 2000 towards transport as the location for the singles accommodation is on the outskirts of doha. Does anyone know how long the journey will be from the nurses accommodation to the hospital? I have emailed geneva health and sidra but no one seems to give me a clear answer as to how far the journey will be edited by mayanurse1 on 12/01/2015

Qatar is very expensive as my partner lives out here. My partner advised me to refuse the offer with sidra on three occasions and on the third time i was offered 22,000qar as a staff nurse not senior staff so from 17000 they added 5000 more. I will certainly not leave my home country and come to another country and struggle. 17000-18000 qar may sound good but when you hit the supermarkets in qatar etc you will feel the pinch and not save much compared to if you were living in Saudi arabia where standard of living is very low. I personally will not advise anyone to settle for the first, second offer. Afterall we are heading to arab land the land of milk and honey. lol

@EMNZ I was informed by Sidra that I should submit all my paperwork and expect to be flown out sometime in February/March 2015 depending on how fast my paperwork is processed. I was not given a definite answer which i find very worrying to leave an established organisation for a new hospital. My fears are whether the new batch of staff like myself will be used as a trial to correct their organisational problems or sidra will open in full swing with everything intact. As a new facility I believe there will be lots of teething problems etc, friends and family are advising me to start work at sidra in 2016 after a year of operation. Who knows there are a few nurses here in sydney who are heading out there with one already working as a clinical nurse leader. My friend who is already there informed me that they are currently working using simulation as they prepare to open. She did say it may or may not open March 2016 as the hospital is still keeping quiet about the completion date. So If I do get hold of any factual information, i will share it here edited by mayanurse1 on 18/12/2014

Hi everyone I am an Aussie heading to Sidra in the new year as an inpatient surgical nurse, any Kiwis or Aussies also starting in the new year at sidra? I would love to hear from you guys. @RRTNICU I found this also helpful (http://www.arabnursingjobs.com/expat-arab-nurse/how-to-negotiate-salary-as-an-expat-nurse-in-the-middle-east/ ) as I did not settle for the first salary Sidra Quoted, I negotiated with them and I received and extra 4000QAR to my basic salary on a monthly basis I wish you all the best with your negotiation hopefully to meet some of you guys in Doha:)
