To clarify it wasnt the dentist. It was his nurse, maybe in a past life I ran over her or something.
followup to the last post: I went for my tooth extraction on saturday- she had called me in the morning and booked my appointment for the evening.
Even the male nurse said " I dont know what she has against you" neither do I frankly even if I dont agree with someone I am always polite. Goes to show that maybe next time I should just tell her instead.
I will never ever ever EVER go to that clinic again, went to another dentist in the end - which was recommended by others - did it over my lunch break and it was fine enough for me to go back to work after.
After reading the spectacular reviews here for Dr Madhu, I decided to visit him for my first ever tooth extraction aka root canal for my tooth. I called the clinic- fixed an appointment with him - it was very difficult to get one - I had to wait a week. By the time of the appointment I was getting used to the constant ache which was growing in severity with every day. I'm glad I found the place, no thanks to the incompetent/ rude nurse who was at reception and gave me incorrect directions.
Yes Yes Dr Madhu was really nice, I told him I don't like dentists in general, he didn't seem to take offense. He quickly pointed out the problem tooth and told me I would have to get it removed- he was helpful and kind. He seemed amused that I didn't want to do fillings, cos of mercury. He also told me the root canal was being done by his colleague a Mr Christopher.
By the time of the scheduled root canal, the ache in the tooth had turned to a shattering throb in the ear and in the tooth. Ouchy doesnt even cover it. And the Dr M even though I pleaded that the pain was getting really bad now- had given me a prescription of period pain medication. -___________-* BOOOO!
When noone called me to confirm the appointment to remove the tooth - I called and the female nurse informed me Dr Chistopher is free for the appointment but the root canal would have to take place later as they had another appointment after mine. I don't know how I kept my composure from 1. walking into oncoming traffic 2. telling her since I work on literally the opposite side of dubai, why would I drive through rush hour traffic from one side of dubai to the other - somehow without killing myself meet a doctor for another consultation- driving through rush hour traffic for another round of x rays when they had done this before. I had explained all of this when she fixed the appointment the first time.
I tried though, I told her I had to cancel and reshedule it for the weekend. And when I say she seemed rude- I mean really rude. She didnt seem to know anything honestly, she kept back tracking on dates and times he was available- no appointments were present till 7th then when I asked for a appointment during the weekend, something opened up. In the process of waiting for the next appointment. I cant afford to wait more for another consultation and then another appointment to remove the parasite in my mouth.
At this point I think the pain has driven me a bit insane. I'll do anything to remove the tooth - I've been thinking of Tom Hanks a lot lately- including visiting the Mankool clinic. But only this last time.
Dentists can't be blamed for mistakes nurses make- but considering the entire experience I wouldn't go there again. OK fan club members I'm ready for ya. :)
