My husband and I have been looking to buy a second hand car for the past couple of weeks and after several appauling attempts in the dodgey dealers in Salwa Road and meeting up with some private sellers we found an ENGLISH salesman in 'Oasis' (near crazy junction) called James Brown (no jokes!) ;0) He's gone out of his way and bent over backwards to help us with buying a car and is a font of knowledge whenit comes to what to do, where to go etc....we gave him our budget and a breakdown of what we were looking for and he informed us that he'd keep an eye out....the very next day, he was on the phone informing us of a car that they'd received that very morning and its spot on for the spec we asked for and under the budget we gave him!! :0) His customer service is 5*, i really cannot rate him highly enough!!! If you're looking for a second hand car from an honest, reliable and extremely friendly person, go and have a chat, you wont be dissapointed!!

I have logged on especially to reply to this post as it got my blood boiling at the same time of bringing tears to my eyes of proudness I have for the country that is Qatar...I have to whole-heartidly agree with KatRock's post; I have lived in many countries over the world, from Singapore, Dubai, Indonesia, Pakistan, Denmark, Brazil and also on my list is Nigeria, the list goes on and for those who I see on expatwoman.com CONTINUOUSLY moaning about this country and city, YOU DON'T KNOW HOW VERY LUCKY YOU ARE! I can understand how people miss certain things...Indonesia was so gorgeously green and I miss that, however that hasn't ever made me moan about Qatar as it's a totally different country! It's like someone comparing me to a 6ft, size zero model...you can't as I'm 5ft and a f*art and am on the much curvier side, but that doesn't make me a worse person, or not beautiful in my own way... I find this country and city to be truly inspiring and amazing...I have been here for 7months and EVERY DAY I meet new and interesting people, new things to do, new places to go as I came here with a 'CAN DO/ WILL DO, POSITIVE attitude'! Each and every day I count my blessings to lead such a fortunate life out here, with shopping malls, food courts, restaurants, hotels, hospitals, transport, an airport...and I thank the-powers-that-be that we're (ALL OF US READING THIS!) aren't living in poverty or other unfortunate countries as I once did. I THINK WE NEED TO START THINKING ABOUT WHAT WE HAVE GOT INSTEAD OF WHAT WE HAVEN'T!!! If you're moving to Doha soon...CONGRATULATIONS, truly! Come with an open mind and positive attitude and you'll have the time of your life and make some amazing memories! :O)

I'm British and the majority of my family are currently serving and have previously served in the forces...... Regardless of the points raised, surely as long as money is raised to support the troops, this is what counts...... More thought should be put in to supporting these causes instead of being pedantic about such titles. Merry Christmas to everyone and please spare a thought for all the Hero's who can't be with their families at this special time...xxx

Lovely Ladies, That's what I was saying earlier......If it becomes a regular thing and people would like to meet up again (which I'm hoping), it'll be a good idea to change days/ times, so maybe next time we could meet in the evening?? The one thing I'm loving about the group of ladies whom are meeting up or would like to meet up is that we're all so different...married/ single/ children/ no children/ working etc......so to make sure everyone comes along, changing days and times is the way forward - Unlike some groups who stick to certain days and times :) Aims xxxxxxxxxx

Hiya Ashley... If everyone's up for meeting again and it becomes a regular thing, I'd like to arrange it for different times/ days to keep it as open as possible for as many ladies to be able to come along.......So keep a look out for (hopefully) the next 'DAFFODIL NATTER-CHATTER' :) Aims xxxxxxxx

A good friend of mine has had a personal encounter with an 'Armani child' and yes, they can pretty much do whatever they like and HAVE had many a Western family deported over 'silly nothings' that have started on a school playground! PuppyLove2 - Can I have a quote for your 12 year old to take me to Villaggio next Tuesday please??? Thanks ;)

You've given me a stitch from laughing SOOOOO blinkin' hard at that post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) The reason I'm laughing so hard...it feels like I just typed it!!! I was sat at Pauls one afternoon (on my own, as per!) and there were about four table of ladies together, laughing and sipping their NO FAT soups together, whilst I was looking on with my 'adoption face', whilst scoffing my steak sandwich with potato wedges on the side....If I'm honest, I think that was the reason for me not being adopted that day...I wasn't 'lady what lunches' material for them...Simply, 'Fancy some food lovely?' material!! ;) That, and the fact that I think you must ONLY wear 10inch heels at ALL times to join their group so my leisurly flip-flops must have been a MAHOOSIVE No-No!!!

Ash...He he...I'm sure children AND a dog would be easier work than having just a husband sometimes! ;) I know, it's soooo difficult meeting people when you don't have children! Since arriving in Doha in September I've opted for the 'smile like I've overdosed on anti-depressants at EVERY British looking woman who's on her own in a Mall' approach, which funnily enough hasn't worked yet...I have NO IDEA why!?! Ha ;) Drop me an e-mail lovely so we can arrange [email protected] Aims xxx

Hiya Dan Lou, As I'd posted my link I saw the 'Any Ideas' link....FAB I say! :) If there isn't already something going on, I'd be really interested in creating a group for ladies in general...young, mature, with/ without children.....Let's see where these links take me, I think...

Hiya Lovelies... I can't help but feel like I'm typing a dating add here - Ha!...But here goes nothing; I'm 26years old and moved from Wales (UK) to Doha three months ago with my husband and I'm finding it increasingly hard to find groups of women who meet up on a regular basis without the words, 'Mums' or 'Bumps' being in the titles...Although I would love to be included in these words one day, I'm not there yet, and so if there's anyone out there who would like to meet up for a coffee and good natter sometime, please get in contact :) Thank you flowers....
