Hi, I want to try out a recipe which requires marshmellow creme or fluff... Ive never heard if this before... I know that it's not the same as melted marshmellows. Anyone know where I can get some? Or maybe make it myself if that's even possible?

Le Cadre in Satwa. Same quality for a 1/4 of the price. Whereabouts in Dubai are you? I agree. Amazing work at a very good price!

Hi everyone!! Just had my surgery this morning... All went well! I opted for the more advanced procedure which I think is called zyoptix (not sure though!!!) and paid an extra 2000 dhs before going in for the surgery. There was a long wait because someone came in late so everyone else was held back... Then I was told there is a Ramadan offer and they would refund me 1000 dhs!! But I have a feeling they did that as an apology for the wait... Could be wrong though. I can now see perfectly and the itchiness is already gone :) i was expecting it to stay for another 2 or 3 days but all has gone better than expected :) No regrets whatsoever...!!! Hi amandashaks, Do you have any idea how much they charge for the intial consultation? So that they can see if a person does indeed qualify for the surgery or not? I had a consultation done 2 years ago for the PRK procedure(not in dubai) and the results revealed that I am not a viable candidate. Maybe technology has changed that. Btw congrats, good to know it worked for you :). Having to wear specs can be such a pain. :) I paid 300 dhs for the consultation.. It wasnt part of the Cobone deal. I suggest you go have a check up again... If you wear contacts, don't wear them for a week before the check up. It gives them a more accurate picture.

I had a really good experience. They were very thorough... Took nearly an hour of tests. My surgery is next Monday so hopefully all goes well. I got a call from the clinic manager, her name is Nadia. She told me I am eligible for the conventional method as well as the newer technology. Its an extra 2000 dhs for both eyes (so 1000 dhs each) which is not crazy. If i choose to go ahead with using the newer technology, i would end up paying 7000 dhs in total which is reasonable for lazik surgery. Otherwise i can go ahead using the conventional method which is all covered by the cobone voucher. The doctor i saw was Dr. Huda (if im not mistaken...). She was really nice and i really felt comfortable with her. Once Im lenses free, anyone is welcome to take my spare contacts Ive got :):):) they're -2.5 and -2.75.

I agree with you Nicky. I would never buy a deal (especially health & beauty ones) without first researching about the place. Atlanta Vision is supposed to be a good place so I hope I don't face the same issues... Will keep you posted on how it goes...

The Big 4 are her best bet. But she shouldn't expect a high salary but they would support her studying for the CPA.

I was also looking into this as have terrible stomach problems. There is a deal on Groupon now for Food Intolerance Testing, its between 500dhs-1100dhs depending on how many tests you chose. http://www.groupon.ae/deals/dubai/Dubai-Modern-Lab/6309407 It's not worth it. I've had mine done at Welcare for 1300 for 300 foods. Edited to add: I mean the Groupon isn't worth it. The test is amazing. I feel so much better once I cut out all the foods that are bad for me (even though I do cheat because there is a lot I cannot eat :() edited by amandashaks on 21/06/2012 I would be afraid that they tell me that I am allergic to Lobster, chocolate, T-bone, ice cream and cake. I might have to alter my regime. I'm intolerant to wheat, glutten, caseine (some protein in milk), pistachios, eggs.... those are the worst ones for me :(

Go back to the shop and ask the manager for half your money back. And if they dont give it, then file a complain to consmer rights. What they have done is illegal and the government does checks on this...

If you know someone going to India (south of India to be precise), they can get you some real home made coconut oil. Someone at work got me some which smells so fresh and it even has some coconut deposits at the bottom :)

Just checked the phone number of the shop as they called a minute ago & it's the same shop as Claire uses Le Cadre so really really pleased that you rate them as i pick them up tonight & was a bit worried about quality because they were so cheap. Sorry about bringing this up again but I would just like to know how long do they take to finish the printing?

I used to have occasional blocked sinuses and never really bothered about getting it checked. I had a food intolerence test and ever since i stopped eating all the things that are bad for me, the problem never came back. I even tested it and had a pizza (the worst thing i could eat really) and within less than an hour, my sinuses were all blocked up...

Sorry I'm overloading you guys with questions but how is the intolerance test done? Through a blood test or is there another way? Mine was through a blood test.... It cost approx 1600 at welcare.

Was ur food intolerance test helpful @ all? Well I only got my results a few days ago so still taking time to absorb all the bad news... Im intolerent to rice, wheat, milk, eggs, glutten, pistachios. Not fun!!! :( i got some glutten free pasta and bread and soya milk so lets see how it goes. But i do want to see someone professional to advise me.

I'd be interested in seeing the recommendations as well. I recently did a food intolerence test and Im thinking it might be the reason for why Im not losing weight despite going to bootcamp 3 times a week for the past couple of weeks.

Sorry ladies I didn't get back sooner to say thank you for all your replies. I honestly knew I was allergic to milk so I used Lactose free milk but it's not lactose I'm allergic to, it's caseine. So no more milk for me (I guess I can only have camel or buffalo milk). You all have given me a lot of information to think about and I've seen a couple of nutritionists who have all come back with different things to say. So now I'm a bit confused as to what to do...? However, they all agreed that it's very very rare to be allergic to rice... Can anyone recommend a nutritionist and a gastroenterologist I can visit? I would not be surprised if I have celiac disease because I am constantly feeling tired and worn out. I am ready to go to bed at any time of the day (and having a full-time job and studying for a masters is not helping...) Purple, could you please explain what is an imniupro?

I got mine today. You have to log into your account and update your contact details (including your address) and they will send it to you after you save it in the system... Yes, i know, they should already have it on the system but i guess it's to make sure they have the correct one on file.

If you just want to print a couple of pictures on a single sheet, i think you have an option when u hit print to do that... You will have to select all the jpeg pics, then hit ctrl + P and snoop around there... If you cant manage then i can put the laptop on and figure it out...

Amandashaks ... I checked the university you have mentioned as well and yes they charge pretty much the same everywhere :( .... But those are not online or distance education? They are regular or part time courses with campuses here. I was assuming that online courses might be cheaper but I couldn't have been more wrong! Skykitty - I was actually a bit zapped that it was so expensive! And yes, it is out of reach for lots of people ... At least for people like me! I should have done my masters long back when education was cheaper! Hindsight and all :( Thanks americanfamily3 for your suggestion. I would look into it. I was trying for Phoenix which seems to be out of my budget :( edited by hiccup on 15/04/2012 You will have to get in touch with them directly to ask about their distance learning but i have friends who are doing it and pay less.. You just dont attend classes thats why its cheaper... They have ahuge number if students doing that btw and they have a lot of study aids and things to support you. Get in touch with me on amanda.shaks @ gmail . com if you're interested and ill give youmall the contact details :)

That seems ridiculous, no wonder so many people don't go on to higher edication these days... that's like a deposit on a house :/ Though I guess depending on what quals you need for your career, the higher earning potential could cancel it out It might be expensive to other parts of the world but it's really not that expensive when you look at the prices of decent MBA programs in the UAE. They're all about the same price (and it goes to much higher amounts if you got to the American University of Sharjah, London Business School, London School of Economics, INSEAD...)

No, that's not expensive but maybe it depends on the course? I'm doing my MBA at Heriot-Watt and I pay 9,000 per course for 9 courses for a general MBA (a specialization is 2 or 3 extra courses) so that's 81,000 dhs. You can do the MBA on distance learning so it costs less (I think 7000 dhs per course).
