Mom is French, dad is Egyptian. Born in the UK. Moved to the UAE when I was less than a year old and I'm still here :)

If you're from the US, you should go ask your embassy. My friend who hold a US passport had a lot of problems giving her child the passport because he was not born there. However, this may differ if you are born American rather than have gotten the passport by living there (which was her case).

I've done my MBA in American University of Sharjah long time ago (nearly 9 years ago). Liked the professors and subjects and the best thing was that I could take classes in the evenings after work. At that time there was not much choice on the universities in UAE for MBAs. I did my undergrad there - wish I could do my MBA there as well but it's way too expensive :(

Just stick to the well known names around and you won't face any issues. Research the university, call them and talk to them, ask them about attesting your degree etc. For me, I chose Heriot-Watt because it was the best for what I can afford. There are much better places but the tuition is nearly 3 times more expensive (if not more). But, they are excellent places to go to - CASS Business School, London Business School...

I went with some vouchers as well because I didn't think it would be worth paying the full price and man was I right! The place is very disappointing to say the least - it is much more catered to children than to adults... It's more interesting for car fanatics than for those who just want to go to an amusement park. Was in and out in about 1.5 hours tops! Half the rides weren't working as well...

I am looking to have a necklace and pendant that I have (it's not real gold or silver) copied into real gold. Can anyone recommend a place that can do this properly and doesn't cost ridiculous prices? I don't mind if this is in Sharjah or Dubai... I'm open to either :) Thanks!

Hi Arohadxb, Shaks's daughter here... Please let me add that seeing my grandmother go through this **** of a disease is terrible. From what I know, there are some patients who get violent and others who are calm. My grandmother is the calm type but her brother who we also think had Alzheimers (he was diagnosed with just being mental at the time) was very violent. They put him in a mental hospital but the nurses couldn't take care of him so sent him home... I think my grandma is at her final stages now. She's extremely thin and is just eating to survive. I'm sorry to depress you but it really requires a lot of support from people around you. Keep reminding yourself that your father will never suffer. He is in no pain and has no sense of what is going on around him. Ultimately, it is the family that suffers. That should give you some comfort...

Sorry but the article very clearly states that the place was "not properly licensed for climbing." Read before you DISS me ;) I did not DISS you....just want to make sure you have facts. Maybe they were not licensed, but that was not the reason for the accident. Yes, he is at fault for not following the rules (if he did at all). However, that does not give them any excuse for not working without all proper safety licenses in place.

Virgin. EDIT - that was just a test to see if the word "virgin" is filtered for some bizarre reason, and it's not. It's not any kind of rude or otherwise [i'>haram[/i'> word in the Middle East, so there's really no need to censor it yourself! edited by edna.welthorpe on 15/09/2011 You really need to go on a holiday somewhere and chill....

Another Bare Minerals user here! Love their foundation! Do they have a whole line of skin products? I had no idea... I just assumed they only do make up! I would love to try out their moisturiser et al... Anyone have any experiences?? Skin care range is fantastic - go on their website and you can order it direct. I had it sent to my mum in UK and she sent it on to me. Suppose that can be bit risky so if know when someone is coming over .... stock up ! The facial wash is amazing, best I have used by far and the moisturiser is just lovely. Am still on first tube of eye cream and into 6th month with it. Small facial wash will last about 2.5 month if used daily. http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.nav/params.file.UKAKTJRR,1.class.UKAKTJRR.level.3/walk.yah.UKHB-U050 Skincare range Bare Minerals But they don't have SPF in there :(

We've been in Mirdif for about 3 months now and have had no issues with any robberies *touch wood*. Could that be because we live in an individual villa and not in a compound? I believe people can easily access villas in compounds; I could be wrong though... Likes: Perfect location; close to everything (SZR, festival city, deira, sharjah). Love the house, love the neighborhood, loads of grocery stores, ironing places, pharmacies etc nearby. Dislikes: the noise of the planes. We live off the flight path and our windows are double glazed but it can be noisy at certain times of the day. You do get used to it though. Just avoid living on the flight path :)

Try Linkedin and connect with recruiters that way.. it works :) I am on LinkedIn. Have a few recruiters connected. Any recommendations as to whom to look for? I would just search for job postings on there and connect with those recruiters. Also have your profile updated and have it completed as much as possible (get recommendations etc as well). Also join networks in your fields of work, connect with as many people as you can...

Do a quick search on here; I made a thread about this a couple of months ago... After doing some research, I found that Heriot-Watt is the best for me in terms of quality of education & what I can afford. I've heard a lot of negative reviews about Wollongong and Middlesex (and this is from people I know who study there) so I didn't even bother looking into them. If I had the cash, I would've opted for Cass Business School or London Business School but it's way out of my budget :(

I did my undergrad at AUS which is a really good university. Their MBA program is way out of my budget though. I did some research for the MBA program and found Heriot-Watt to be the best (hopefully I'll be starting in September, just waiting to complete two years of work to be accepted). There are some other better universities but the tuition is way too high for me... If you do a quick search on EW, you'll find some threads I posted asking for advise etc...

Yes I have. I've always gotten the right items I have ordered but the delivery time is ridiculous!! It takes them between 3-4 weeks to deliver anything!! It's SO annoying! My mom has ordered from them before (it was a Christmas gift) and the ****** thing came 2 weeks late and it was the wrong item!! I wouldn't use them unless I find a good bargain and I'm not a rush to get my stuff...

I started on the pill for the very first time (I am on my second month right now). I started as a treatment for my acne. I've had the exact same symptoms as all of you - headaches (which are really bad on some days), nausea. tiredness, body aches... I went to the doctor about it (not thinking about the pill having such side effects) and went through a couple of tests. I told them that I was on the pill and they didn't really take much note of it... Now maybe it is the pill and they were skimming money off my insurance with all these tests...

I'm a big voucher fan and I have never had any major issues with any of the companies here. If anything, they've been extremely helpful when I've had any problems... Here is my share of good experiences: - Biolite for hair removal. Very nice staff! - Beauty Spot for Thai massages & they now have another offer on Cobone for a Moroccan Hamaam (it's been tried and tested - very good imo!) - Vapiano's for the BEST pasta ever *drools* - Tiffinbites for Indian food - it was really nice food and very good service as well. :)
