My son was also super hungry at 5 months. he used to take feeds very frequently and i felt like i am just sitting and feeding whole day and doing nothing else. They are going towards growth spurt at 6 months so its natural for them to increase their food. As for starting solids in my opinion 6 months is the best age. till today i have not given any baby porridge to him. As daza said start from pureed vegetables like pumpkin or carrots. mine likes all types of vegetables even today (23 months old and he has started becoming fussy ) and wants soup atleast in 1 meal.just search some more and instead of porridge you can try cooked semolina in little fresh orange or apple juice but after 6 months.

your Dh is right, you cannot buy two tickets for same passenger. however if you have an infant you can purchase extra seat for your baby rather then a bassinet.

completely agree with dentro...just the fountains and lights in burj park are good but the actual light show you won't be able to understand much.

i did delivered there 2 years back and would go there again if possible this time around. There were several factors when we were deciding for the hospital. its very close to my house,my gynae delivered there and in city. city hospital was coming a little expensive as my insurance was already exhausted. I got recommendations on this forum as the staff there is excellent and i did had good "during and after" care. mine was a emergency c-section.i was in labour for 12 hours and they gave us the room in the morning only so that my family and friends can stay there rather then coming and going in the labour room.room was big and clean. i liked the separate room for visitors so i had the privacy all the time whilst my husband attended to visitors.

following this thread.... I have been searching too and have narrowed down to these 3 along with orange tree. So far i have heard very good reviews about toddlers. Cambridgeshire is very good but quite expensive. but i have not heard anything from anybody ..everybody says nursery is beautiful and well maintained. we are edging towards toddlers because of the good reviews. They are little strict about rules even with the toddlers but i have got reviews that kids become very disciplined there and they encourage them to eat so even a fussy eater starts eating vegetables :) edited by angel joy on 06/03/2014

i find maternity selection here pathetic be it destination maternity or anywhere else. They all look like ****.. why don't go for a bigger size dress from monsoon or mumbai se and get it altered. i did that last time rather then buying maternity dress. this time also i buy clothes in big size apart from maternity jeans or leggings.or even some shops which deals with arabic dresses have wonderful selection. edited by angel joy on 06/03/2014

yes for visa you need emirates ID too. 2 years back we applied for my son's visa and both were done at the same time. we needed to show the receipt of emirates id for medicals and visa processing.

Hey NP hope your nausea passes soon. not to discourage but with my first pregnancy i had for full 9 months so i was kind of prepared this time too. atleast it has reduced to evenings only. the growth of the baby varies so much. I didn't go with the NT scan as one doctor said i am 13 weeks whereas my gynae (who returned from the holiday) said that i am already 14 weeks. so we didn't had the scan.Crossing fingers and hope your results are fine.

we went to Toronto and emirates has direct flight, 14 hrs. Emirates is very good with the kids and you might want to take the seat in the tail of the plane. it has some space where kid can run. check the seat arrangement on seatguru.in. about the britax model, the ones sold here does not carry FAA sticker. we searched alot for car seats and just the day before flying purchased one from dubizzle. my husband didn't want to buy the second hand one but we had no choice. so far we havn't booked the flight for the upcoming trip but yes emirates again.

since ours was very long trip and my baby doesn't like to sit in lap ( :) ) we purchased a seat for him. since he is infant so we called the emirates reservations and booked through them. they do give child's fare which is a little less then adult's fare. ours is britax which has the FAA approval seal on the side. you just fix it onto the seat with seat belt. you don't need to tel anything beforehand. just carry your car seat. sometimes they do check for the FAA sticker. nobody checked at dubai airport but they did checked at Toronto airport. If your baby fits bassinet ( mine hasn't in a long long time) then you can think for that too. Its a little hassle carrying car seat through airport but we felt it was worth the effort as he is used to sitting in car seat. I thought of buying CARES harness (from 2 years) but he didn't liked the similar belt for dining table so car seat is worth the effort. Also your baby is safe in it.if you are travelling alone then you can go to washroom too if the baby is napping :)

I totally agree with you TDB i am so worried about my canada trip in Aug my DD will be 23 months old and i do not know how i will be able to keep her calm lol.. i remember you saying to invest in a tablet or so to keep them busy.. need to get one beforehand.. so ErinLynnEmail.. GO FOR IT WHILE YOU STILL CAN lol.. i have to travel to canada too in june when my son would be 26 month old. he is already hyperactive and the trip last year just passed :) i bought the tablet but he was not interested in it at all. just watched sesame street for some time. we took the car seat so he was strapped in it most of the time and slept peacefully. hope this trip goes fine too.

you can use virgin coconut oil in place of moisturizers. it does not smell like normal oil and is very good for skin. I still use it only for my son who is 22 months old now and he has excessive dry skin.

LOL I never once used a sterilizer and I didnt use a sleeping bag until 5 months Its all about what you feel you may or may not want to do, if you are having the baby with you or in its own room, if you are BF or not..... I knw that is not very helpfl but if you decide those things and let us know, maybe we can be more helpful :-) if you plan on formula feeding then steriliser is helpful otherwise it is useful after 6 months once you start baby on solids. sleeping bags are everybody's preference. if i can find one for my big 21 month old then i would love to have one as he keeps on kicking the blanket whole night and used to love sleeping in gro bags.

Khaadi boutique (i have been to festival city and outlet mall) have smart clothing but not for weddings. You can check in the jumeirah branch they might have some. As izzy said there are lots of shops in meena bazaar and also in deira. but meena bazaar is the best option.

gaviscon ,navidoxine is not helping at all. i have completely cut dairy products only one cup of cold milk in the late morning as i am still feeding my 20 month old. I have started walks as i became quite lazy due to stomach pains, its helping but very less. if i already have gas pain and walk it worsens. so for now i am just bearing it :(

after searching last time with my pregnancy i went along with dr Andrea and took her antenatal package. But our reasons for deciding were different as we wanted IMH hospital and my gynae was a visiting doctor there,so some problems with the insurance company. The package was fine with all the scans and tests required and i didn't have to ask her anything extra ( but i am from the same field). you might have to write for more mums to write here :) As for govt hospital my friend is currently with the Latifa hospital and although you don't get a personal doctor there its fine so far. (whoever is on duty will see you) her detailed scan took only 15 min whereas mine took 55 min! By the way congratulations :) i am also due in august (8 weeks now) but havn't decided yet for which antenatal to go.

this phase passes away. just keep on carrying with your normal routine. I started taking my toddler to play area in our club so he can play. Currently he is again having a " clingy" phase (20 months old)
