we got the refund in 3 weeks as told by the rep but had to follow up for another week with the expedia and the hotel again and again so it took 4 weeks for money to come back in the account.

yes i took him to doctor and he is better now. it looks like he misse his doc before his monthly checkup :) for 3 days he was very worse but i only held him and rocked him all day and night talking nonsense to him. he is fine now except for screaming for some time in morning and some time in evening which i reduce by distracting him.his gas pain is back along with the swelling in gums so that was the reason for screaming.he is normally a talkative boy :) doc said that he is not getting enough exercise and i should atleast make him play for 4 hours daily. i already do that but how to keep on increasing. he is small and takes feed after every 2 hrs or 1.5 hrs. i can't immedialtely play with him or he'll spit up all the milk!:\: being a FTP you run to doc or to the forum for everything :) i guess it gets better with time. edited by angel joy on 13/08/2012

we are not renting a car there.and i have ben googling since morning about the car seats. i am concerned about the plane seat only as i don't want him to sit in my lap. unfortunately his seat could not be booked as flight was full. they have told us they will provide with bassinet but that's on a first come first serve basis. or if there is an empty seat then they will alott us.so i am confused as to take the car seat or not?

Oh I feel bad for you. I totally remember days when I cried along with my LO, so you are not alone. I swear by teething powder. My husband calls it baby crack, as it settled our little one instantly, and he gets soooo excited when he sees the pack. My MIL FedExs us a monthly stash. It's brilliant stuff. Do you have anyone at home that could send you some? edited by flydiver11 on 11/08/2012 Which teething powder flydiver? I have no idea being a first time parent :)

thank you everybody.. my baby is much more manageable ( touch wood) although he still throws fit and screams.even when he is screaming i keep him close to me and keep on rocking. i found after few minutes e calms down and whimper occasionally. breastfeeding helps only to certain extent. but i do every thing i can to keep him distracted. if everything fails then i just take him downstairs. we just watch from inside our building, the maintainance is work going on :) as for the meds i'll take him to the paed and would consult first for the teething gel. i have bought baby calpol but for very dire emergency. ps: unrelated to this but i have read that at 3 month babies do get constipated even the EBF. so totally natural if he goes every alternate days or even with 2-3 days gap. that said my baby is not happy if he does not have motion :) i have noticed he is way happy and calm on days he goes and even after going he starts smiling and looks realxed!! :D i can't help there can i ? i started taking laxative with very controlled diet so that both of our tummies remain fine. edited by angel joy on 10/08/2012

EMC2012 i completely forgot about the teething necklace after searching on google late night :) its found in favourite things play area in marina mall. so tomorow a trip to marina mall! i am not too keen on using any gel which numbs the gum. ashton and parsons is not available here. also i read that if i add certain amount of walnut oil to my diet it passes to bub through breastmilk. apparently this helps with teething to certain extent not much. the front and bottom teeth comes first so far from what i have read. but my ds's incisors and canines are swelling, now the molars has also started although no teeth has come so far. but the front ones are completely silent. so this is only gum formation? edited by angel joy on 09/08/2012

I bought them at Mothercare (can't remember which one!) some weeks ago. I remember they said it was not in stock at the Dubai Mall one but I found it in another branch. Check the locations on http://store.mothercare.com/international/middle-east/united-arab-emirates They are also sold at http://www.justkidding-me.com/ and http://www.bumblebee-me.com/ been following up with all those shops for quite some time.

thank you everybody for your wonderful suggestions and to give me support.wonderful forum with wonderful ladies :) well today was highs and lows. but i maintained my patience and cuddled him and picked him all the time. he cries with his eyes closed and shouts but still i kept on talking to him. might be something is bothering him and we are not able to understand.hopefully he will be better tommorow. well peek-a-boo is not his favourite game but still we play every afternoon. so far he likes when i blow raspberries or keep on singing cuppy cake song with silly faces. but the grin you get is worth the effort. as for going to strangers i realized that in times when he is in pain because of teething he will be more clingy to me since he is with me all day and night and to some extent to his dad.so let him stick to me. now desperately waiting for the carrier as he is too heavy to be in arms all the day long :) as for letting him cry i felt very bad and i know its just opposite of AP. but sometimes when baby is crying for no apparent reason and you are at your teethers end its better to leave him for few minutes. although i didn't left the room and was sitting besides him only.but whole day then if he shouted again i tried distracting him which worked to some extent. slowly and gradually we will be back on track. for now i'll comfort him as much as possible. why teething is so painful ? :(

Don't know if it's a new thing or a Dubai thing but I'm totally jumping on the bandwagon! Why not lol! Have spied a nice tennis bracelet or a tanzanite ring in the Gold and Diamond Park altho DH is cr*p with presents so I will be lucky to receive some supermarket flowers. And a lovely baby of course ;) send him to a pre selected shop with the correct "surprises" picked out ;) Good tip - let's face it, even with a sparkly diamond it can still go very wrong! i think most husbands are clueless when it comes to gifts! (although they will eagerly wait for their gift ) i have to drill whole year into my husband that i do not like recieving big bouquets only a single flower, that too oriental lily, with some nice wrapping....still i got a huge bouquet on our anniversary with lots of roses and a tiny oriental lily in between :) and after guiding him and telling him clearly about push presents he convieniently forgot! ( and asked me how can i get push present when bub was delievered through c-section )but in the end what matters is the healthy baby :) ps: in july, when my son completed 3 months i got coach handbag. might think it as a push present ;) edited by angel joy on 05/08/2012 edited by angel joy on 05/08/2012

day to day supermarket has lots of souveniers nothing expensive. as suggested dates (c4 best), chocodates, chocolate, branded perfumes from meena bazar(quite cheap), dry fruits in cute little packing. recently i purchased few pashmina stoles from day to day for gifting. they were around 10-15 dhs in so many colours.

I am still on the lookout for one. i found them either to be too bulky or no tin black colour(with the pram) or too expensive! found one very nice backpack which is actually a baby bag only as it has changing mat inside and zips completely to the front. i saw it in babyshop in the teens section.it can also be worn as a backpack or messenger bag or simply handbag. Lassig brand. but it was too brown colour :( i think i should go and buy that only now if i don't get any other within few days. currently just toting my large handbag as a diaper bag :\:

Maybe you need a little practice. I thought my LO didn't like it either, as he wiggled and winged when first put in it in the shop. I was so disappointed. Not we both love it and I couldn't live without it. Especially when I travel. It fits me, my super thin nanny, and my giant of a husband, so I'm pretty sure you'll adjust it to fit both you and your DH. My husband looooves carrying our DS around in it. It would be great for a single dad as he gets soooo much attention from women coming to say how cute our little guy is. I would keep trying. Borrow one and take it for a test ride in the comfort of your own home, when you are both relaxed. PS your DH has alot of courage to deny you anything so soon after you gave him something so precious. I would be pushing the "I just gave birth" angle a bit more ;) loved your "i just gave birth" angle :D but he was concerned about him as we tried 2-3 carriers on that day! otherwise we both wanted something so that our hands can be free as he is fussy in the evening and want to be held upright in the arms to observe everything around him once lights are on!

My little one is around 8 kg and fits fine in the ergo in the front position still. Sometimes they can be a bit fussy when they first get in, but at least my l.o. loves it once we start moving. Did you try walking around or bouncing around with him in it? I hope something works out! a 3 month old baby who supports his neck at few min interval will bw fine in front position? although now my ds has started to bob his neck only when he is tired :) edited by angel joy on 22/07/2012

it looks like you are facing trouble dealing with baby?did you had relatives over?i have a 3 month old son and from his birth my mom and both in laws were here. then they went away after a month and my dad and sis came over for another 15 days.my mom went away after 3 months.ds was used to seeing lots of faces and use to come to me for feeds.it took a lot of effort, time and patience but now he plays with his dad too (for some time) and alone in his gym too.otherwise he wanted to be held upright in arms and keep on walking all the day through the house.its very difficult and painful to do that(i had c section and it got inflammed, still have pain as my baby is quite healthy too :) )he bacame very attached to me. in a way i love it...he is still sleeping in my arms. try leaving him for shorter periods of time.both of you sit together and play.he will start loving it and would be with your DH for longer time.instead of day care have you thought about hiring a part time nanny? one who comes on hourly basis?

since you are feeding 2 its not necessary that your breasts should ache but your milk supply is making your LO's tummy full. as OP suggested fenugreek helps alot. also add 1-2 tbsp cumin seeds to water.boil it. then drink only this water( for as long as you want, but you can have plain water with it too). this surely increases milk supply (tried and tested) as for the pain i feel pain in one and not in the other.since your LO's do not take formula after feed then they are full. but if they are crying and do not taking formula then probably you should change the formula. as long as weight gain is fine its ok. My baby was also given formula at the hospital because he did not take my milk next day for full 8 hrs. so nurses gave him formula.but eventually he latched on :) i was advised there to feed him in every 2 hrs. i use to follow it religiously even after returning home and it was stressful for me with the c-section. also my baby used to search for milk all the timein everybody's lap :) then i just followed my heart and gave him whenever he wanted. he would drink for not more than 10-15 min in day and 30 min at night. but atleast its helping us both to sleep at night otherwise i use to get up all the time and wake him up too. result both of us cranky :) trust your instincts. i do not leave him hungry for more than 3 hrs now in the day (3 month old) although now i am thinking of giving him same formula every now and then because its difficult to feed him when we are out apecially in dubai mall as there are no ac in the feeding rooms there and he just cries!! all the best. such a simple thing of eating is so complicated for little ones :D

my DS is 11 week old and considering that he has outgrown his big bassinet in 2 month i already look for a bigger picture :) although i do not know whether toddler bed is ok or not but i think i would go for a single bed with guard rails.and if your baby already does not like it then chances are he will not sleep in that! lets see in how much time my baby will outgrow his cot bed :) ps:it all depends on the growth of the baby. mostly (from my friends experiences) their kids moved out at 3-4 yrs of age. edited by angel joy on 11/07/2012

there are feeding rooms in every mall here. so far i have not seen any mother feeding in public. although i have to feed my baby once in changing room of a store :). feeding rooms in some malls are really pathetic! festival city has a sofa in the one side of washroom. you sit facing washroom and there is no AC.though for changing baby they have a separate room . my baby after taking little feed went all red and started crying inconsolably due to heat. i have to take him to toy's r us there and will never go to festival city again as long as he does not start solids!
