hey presam sorry to hear about this...do not take stress ( i know easier said then done). double check with other gynae. i have PCOS and when first my doc diagnosed it i couldn't believe and went to 3 different doc's for cross reference. but all the results were same. nobody in my family has history of PCOS. apparently apart from giving genetic explanations scientists are still not sure about the cause of pcos.its not necessary that with pcos you can't concieve. everybody has different body cycle. i concieved naturally within 6 months of being diagnosed with pcos. my doc was sure that i will. she only gave me glucophage for 2 months. this med do cause lot of nausea so if you are thinking of taking it bear it in mind. i use to take only at night.couldn't take the morning on.hope all will be well. do consult a doc who is experienced with pcos. i had cycts till my first trimester then they went away. as for the travelling, yes, i was also told to avoid it in first trimester. do not think too much because stress also triggers more hormones production in the body. and even if you are travelling you should take it easy,no exhertion and no bumpy roads. you have to take rest alot. will pray for you dear. do keep us posted. edited by manubhadauria on 12/02/2012

In ours culture no pineapple, papaya, jackfruit.ocra for 9 months. also during first trimester avoid eggs and nuts of every sorts. so since i am a vegeatrian i had to take artificial protien in form of protein powder...i love pineapple and so far just smell it :) also mascoporne cheese and any other cheese of soft nature. edited by manubhadauria on 02/02/2012

hey KiranB, i to had a constant headache for first 3 and a half months...sometimes less sometimes high.apparently few people have that in pregnancy.i still have them but not as before.my DH use to massage daily and then i found later that rather then having a massage just with your own fingers press horizontally or vertically like you are dipping your fingers in paint and making a line :) (if you can understand.) keep on doing for few minutes you will find relief if not gone. apparently blood circulation is not proper and that's why due to loads of hormones head starts pounding. use tiger balm, as presam suggested, you can get from day to day supermarket near deira metro station and meditation will relax you a little too.

thanks manubhadauria! i saw your posts on Dr Nirmala. i was wondering to see her throughout the pregnancy and then delivery too. all the scans etc are done at Dr suleiman centre or at the hospital chosen for delivery, do u know that? oh! saw your post just now....go and meet her at the clinic if you feel comfortable then go ahead with her. all the tests and scans are done at the clinic.radilogists at the clinic is very good (i am reading posts here that people are not satisfied with their 3 D scans...i am more than happy) . her nurses are also very cooperative..i sometimes go at a short notice . she operates in 3 hospitals- city, medcare and international modern...i have choosen international because of very close proximity to my house and found it less intimidating then medcare. i feel good with her and it seems my baby misses her most ;) after every 15-20 days i have something or the other to go and see her. anyways this is my first pregnancy and lots of concerns as i had miscarriage just 3 months before concieving again. but it was her belief that i will concieve naturally and didn't gave me any medicines apart from folic acid. one thing though if you are going through insurance just ask about prenatal package as its not there for the insurance people i think... edited by manubhadauria on 25/01/2012

recently purchased some jewllery but i found that prices in gold souq near fish market are high. in gold souq there is a mall i think its gold centre or something they have reasonable price. pure gold is having DSF promotion . 200-900 aed diamond earrings and pendant in both white and yellow. although the diamonds are too tiny but nice for gifting. sky jewllery also has a nice collection of promotional pendants in diamond. you can try in meena bazaar too near creek. lots of jewellery shops with good designs.

DXBchica I know, this is a bit off topic but I was really happy to find someone that was actually going to Medcare. Im cureently 22 weeks and have registered with them for their Antenatal Package but am now having second thoughts. I feel like I just dont get the appropriate amount of attention or information from the doctors there. Most recently, I had my anomaly scan today and the doctor who did the scan was not only a bit scattered, but also not so great at communicating what we were seeing on the screen- we were very interested to see our baby's development but also wanted to be able to see the baby move, and the face etc. she was a bit rushed and the final pictures we got were on CD and nothing more than grey blurs- kind of ruined the experience for us. sorry to hear that F. i went to medcare too but experienced the same thing so i opted out of there. my doc sits in a clinic and operates there alog with international modern hospital and city. me and my DH both found it a bit rushed and nobody to guide you properly....although they smile and point you in other direction :) during anomaly scan my baby wasn't cooperative showing his face clearly to us! but the radiologist kept on focusiing and finally gave us a side face pic. she was very sweet and helpful and took her time to do the scan. this scan really makes you realizes the upcoming delievery :) all the best

thanks melinda..i was worried as it was detected quite late in pregnancy and lower vit d levels effects brain and immune system development of baby. had a detailed talk with my gynae and hope that all is well! also i am much more at risk as the levels are too low to be compensated by supplements. so i have been given high dose of injection and another after 6 weeks.

@halfmoon : some months back i grew wheatgrass. one poster advised here only and i felt silly afterwards as it is so easy :) just buy wheat grains from some Indian grocery store. soak them in water for 2-3 days, cover them and keep in warm place, till the time seedlings appear. not too much water. then plant them in a tray containing fertiliser and mud. they grow very speedily. use the shoots once they are big enough. happy growing :)

@angeldxb: thanks for the offer but i can't buy anything before the baby arrives, strictly told by my mom in law :) , so i am making my list at the moment when i have little energy. @beatles19: its a normal ultrasound carried for over 45 min to 1 hr. basically radiologist checks all the organs and you get to see baby's face too for the first time so do have your DH with you :) . this helps in dtermining few of the defects if any, and if the surgery is required right after delievery.all the best for you. i am in my 21 week.

@ausiepup: my feets are not better. just waiting for lab results might have to go for vit d3 injections. your hormones are making you angry. can you have somebody over to live with you for few days? that might help. although when i had my inlaws i craved for alone time :) . i too had a short temper in first few months. poor DH getting the most of it since its only 2 of us here :) but then i started meditation. it has helped me alot. and i have to do that because everybody says anger is not good for baby. they get more cranky :( @coffeegal: we are in same boat :) i had my anomaly scan yesterday and the pic is so lovely that both of us couldn't stop staring :) my son is a boxer too. moves his hands more as compared to feets :) i don't have a very good picture of my baby as whenever she tried to focus on face he moves his hands infront!! as for the breathing i have that during the day too and at night too. doc has told me to keep water with me all time and sip it slowly. i am drinking 3-4 lt daily! baby puts pressure on your diaphragm because now he has started growing so this is common. sometimes at night i have to wake up and sit or i stand in balcony its so difficult to breathe. just try and take deep breaths and slowly. some people have more difficulty then others. hope you feel better. my inlaws were here last month and frankly after they went i didn't do any work for 2 days. i was so tired as i have insomnia too and during the day i feel sleepy then there is breakfast and lunch to make apart from showing them around. my mom in law helped alot but still....my parents are coming over tomorrow so i would get a little rest. :)
