They also had rails and rails of maternity vests in all colours. thank you very much.. loks like there is a trip to ibn battuta on weekend :)

prices are still the same if you go to immigration office, ie, 2000 aed security deposit and 750 aed for 1 month visa. i have heard that there are travel agents that process visa for 400 Aed for 1 month without any security deposit although i don't know if that is legal here.

every week is not requirered as long as you are not at high risk..still every week is too much. in my first trimester i had 3 visits, one to confirm pregnancy at 6 weeks, second for heartbeat at 9 weeks, other at 13 week to just determine the growth of baby ( i had these much as i had the previous case of miscarriage and have pcos)....so now i am starting my 15 week and i have my next appointment on 11 dec. in between if i have some problem i call my gynae but no scans. and you are right my doc has told me that after 32 weeks she'll be calling me weekly. limit your visits dear and try and enjoy your pregnancy ( although i am still fighting nausea and tiredness :) )

the rules here are different it seems. just few months back my husband lost his license, had to goto bur dubai police station to file a report, then went to rta with passport copy and all was done within 2 hrs with 200 AED spent. from then on i have started keeping a photocopy in car, scanned copy in all his mail ids :)

We used Cells4Life. Efficient service, no hassles and one of the best investments we have made! You can ring the guy and you can arrange for him to come to your house to give you and your DH a presentation on how the whole process works! [url=http://www.cells4life.co.uk/contact-us'>Cells4Life[/url'> i am due in april but was looking at options and cells4life sounded good. they even came at home and discussed everything.

wow!! this forum is wonderful...i have finally got a name for weird feeling in my legs. i'll also discuss this with my doc. i mostly get this when i don't workout so i thought it might be due to that. and since i am pregnant and not allowed much exercise i thought i'll have this throughout. will start drinking tonic water straight away. :) thanks all

Hi Dubaicat, I had my 6 weeks scan and everything went well. Saw the yolk sac, fetal pole and heartbeat. I will be going back soon for my 8 weeks scan and to make sure everything is still fine. congrts sal123...i am also in the same boat...although i am nearing completion of my first trimester! whole time so scared and anxious for next appointment :) these 3 months are passing very very slowly! still 1 week left for me. are you taking any meds? i am on progestrone gel and glucophage. i had my scan at 6 weeks, 8 weeks, next scheduled for 13 week. i am worried about the no of ultrasound in just first trimester but atleast they soothe me...seeing baby growing fine on screen :) all the best to you...keep fingers crossed.

yes discounts are worth waiting..actually discounts are not much but you get a lot of freebies. but you might want to try during gitex in dubai mall. last year we got a nikon slr from jacky's in dubai mall during gitex and they gave the same deal there only. it saved the hassle of finding parking and those admission tickets there! however if you have a list of buying electronics (like me this year :) ) then its better to goto gitex.

congrts aussiepup :) i had scan today at 10 weeks and again at the end of 13 weeks. i am still on progestrone for another 3 weeks. Gosh this preogestrone has swelled me up so much that people ask me is it 7 or 8 month :( nausea has reduced a little bit but cooking is still difficult! i eat so much of sugar (it helps me to lessen nausea) . my baby is growing fine too and today when my dh heard the heartbeat for the first time he was looking around the doc's office for the noise :D by looking at his face i had to stifle a laugh and had to point it 'this is heartbeat dear' i just want to go and buy a baby journal to jot all this down....but dear hubby says after 3 months u can buy! these 3 months are really long *sigh*

you have lots of places to select the indoor plants. either goto dubai garden centre at sheikh zayed road, satwa plant souq, sharjah plant market near bus stand. i mostly buy from sharjah as there are many shops along the road and you can bargain too. as for what plants that depends on your preference. shopekeepers guide well as for what plants to have. this time i am thinking of giving satwa a try but have no idea about the price there. also dubai garden centre is a lovely place but a bit expensive then others.

well, i am 11 weeks at the time and already stretch marks have started appearing on my waist!! using sandalwood oil on somebody's recommendation but i think i'll go with vit e and palmer's too. as for genetics its not necessary as my mom doesn't have any and she was slim even years after my birth! and i have become like a balloon in initial months only :)

So, I went to the pharmacy to get some motion sickness bands for morning sickness and they rang round all the branches and no one has them. Instead they gave me Navidoxine. Can anyone confirm that this is safe 100% for sure during pregnancy? I am really against taking medication but its getting to the point where im struggling to keep fluids down so I need to do something. Seeing my obgyn on Sunday...... i got from boots last weekend from ibn battuta and they had 3 pairs left. better to call them first. navidoxine is completely safe as my gynae has precribed it to me too but i am not taking it as even after that i felt the same.so no use taking meds. it is different for every person if you feel better then go ahead and take it.

Thanks everyone for your advice. Hopefully I'll find one of these that works. HAK...I was worried about losing weight, I take it its not unsafe if you lose weight during pregnancy? Your body will still give baby what it needs? I only seem to manage to eat Salt and vinegar crisps and was worried that I was giving my baby a terrible start in life! well my gynae told me to eat whatever i can. she did prescribed protein powder for me which i am still taking. otherwise only the smell of potatoes are fine for me.i am thinking the same thing...poor baby chips, sugar and potatoes right from start ;)

Hi dear try the sailor bands for sea sickness available at pharmacies.. dont worry you will feel better soon. these bands recommended here have really helped me alot, along with sipping sweet lemon water throughout the day is helping me. also i found that by eating grapes one at a time brings on less nausea :) all the best dear...i am still 2 weeks far from my first trimester to end.

hey fairwater, do make a search here...sometime back there was a post about koh samui and lots of us who have ben there recently, gave our reviews there. as for spa...you have several good one there. magnolia which is medium range, then there is tamarind which is expensive(it was 10,000 baht for the package i liked) but its a lifetime experience. do a google on it.normally all the resorts there do have spas and i found that the one where i was staying was good. as for thai massage i tried several but everyone was different from last one! so it would be good to have a look in lonely planet book.

Hi manubhadauria, i bought some very simple ones from Life Pharmacy on Al Wasl Road until I find the ones I am looking for. I am almost 4 months now and still feel yuck though I do have more good days than bad. The bands do help and I am open to the fact it may be placebo but they work for me right now. I am also taking Navidoxine from the Obs recommendation and that helped a little, hence why I went and got the bands about a week or two after starting the tablets. I'm totally over it! If anyone knows where to get the watch band ones in colours, I'd love to know also. Next stop, accupuncture? ETA, the ones I bought were 15 AED edited by sparkly on 18/09/2011 oh thanks sparkly i'll get from there as i buy my meds from there only. i too started taking navidoxine but still felt same so stopped taking them.

Both of us loves travelling so we thought to wait for 3 yrs then start...but life is not always as planned. I was detected with pcos last year and doctor advised to start family as soon as possible. so after 2 yrs of marriage here i am 10 weeks preggers :) and well our baby will celebrate our 3 aniversary with us. you said right every person has different opinion for this.if you think you are ready then you are.. i think that a women has to be ready rather than a man. men are never ready...one of my friend's hubby doesn't want kids for 4-5 years and they have been married for 3+ yrs already..she is just longing for a child.and it doesn't help when you are 28.

nams new ,if you don't mind telling, which passport do you have? i have also heard recently that Indian passports require husband's name in order for the baby's passport to get processed. and even if you have marriage certificate attested you have to get it with ministry of external affairs i think. i am still searching the reliability of this news and in the interim if you know then do share please, i.e., if you have indian passport.

i have been to koh samui last month...amazing place...we took a flight from bangkok directly, bangkok airways, as we had limited days (only 4) and buses and ferry were taking alot of time and we didn't want to spend it in travelling. you have a lot of options for staying there. we rented a scooter there. chaweng beach is the most populated area by tourists.there were few groups of lady travellers there. it was lively day and night.beach there was fine for swimming.we stayed by bophut beach.nice isolated area for relaxation with most of the spas nearby. on bophut beach there is one restaurant secret garden i think, amazing thai curries, they have accomodation too, small cottages type. the owner there is british.totally peace and lovely view from there. then there is fisherman village. starfish restaurant is also very amazing.then nearby chaweng beach there is one area where all the villagers make local food. nice place to try local food. then there is another island phi phi which is also very beautiful but i havn't been there so don't know much about there.

I had my scan and blood tests on Sunday (Aug 28th) and all is well. I guessed my due date exactly as April 5th but as we know it can be give or take by a week or so either side. Heard and saw the heart beating - 166 bpm. My nausea seems to have subsided but my nose can still smell everything from a mile away. I've been craving mangos like crazy since the beginning, at least it's something healthy. I came home from a day out with a girlfriend last weekend and DH has some flowers on the table for me and a teddy for baby. So sweet, it's our first and we're too excited! I had some bleeding the other day and it was bright red, quite a lot too. I had a panty liner in because I've had spotting but this time I actually had to replace it with a pad. I was upset but I know that some bleeding is normal and my mom reassured me that she had bleeding the first 3 months. Still upsetting. I'm looking forward to the first trimester being over so that I can participate in some prenatal exercise classes and announce the news officially to our friends. same here coffegal...i get so nauseated by just the thought of the food. no vomiting only feeling :( and i am carving for homemade lemon pickle and mangoes...
