Thank you so much ladies!! This is why I LOVE this forum. Everybody is soo helpful and nice. angel joy- your story made me even more grateful for receiving lots of second hand cloths from a friend... so basically I don't really have to buy more for the first half a year (though not sure I'd be able to stop myself..). But when it comes to a stroller, I'm definitely going to buy a new one with International warranty. true pichon...first time around we can't stop ourselves purchasing....that was my fav timepass...going to babyshops and looking around. i used to give excuse that's my walking time :) as for the stroller i didn't had any reservations but my husband wanted new :) we had to wait for 4 months at just kidding. they didn't had in stock. Hi angel , i would like to know how much the difference in the price between here in Dubai and UK ? Worth it ! price difference was decent. i think it was coming around 1000 dhs cheaper in UK. even with the shipping. there is one website babycare.nl. they are very good. and you get the general idea of the shipping charges too. search here on this forum. there was a thread here before my delievery where 2-3 people ordered from there. it was last year in feb or march. we got ours here only for 3800 dhs without much accessories. we only bought cocoon as we were travelling.

He has recently started having water. I keep his cup in his range and he drinks himself also when I am drinking he wants from my glass. I give him all the time but he has not got the hang of drinking from glass. He puts his tongue in the glass :) but I still keep on trying.i' ll try milk also from that.

i am sure kiwispeirs she did say "to add" as smell of cow's milk out them off. afterall i did say pardon" :) i always get weird advice from doctors at govt clinic. as for the vanilla yoghurt he used to love it when i bought babies yoghurt. it will not hurt to give him once in a while as a treat. my baby loves cows milk, plain but he just need it chilled which is fine by me..i have just started to give him in very small quantities. since i have never given him bottle so i have to feed him by spoon or in his sipper ( which he does not like) evelyn2000 where can i get almond milk? waitorse?

congratulations pichon :) although you have already got detailed and good advice here ill add my input also. its really overwhelming looking for a best stroller.even if you decide and buy there are many things which you realize afterwards. after searching for months ( we got ours just before 2 weeks of due date) we finally settled for bugaboo bee. i love my stroller and not keen on changing. we used to go just kidding on sheikh zayed road. the staff there is amazing and you have a nice selection of stroller. just decide on your budget first. make a list what all you want in the stroller then check them. we travel a lot so we wanted one which would be lightweight for travelling and not just a pushchair. bugaboo bee is very light, easy to fold, seat reverses. i walk a lot and its easy to push on and off the pavements here. there isn't a flaw with it. the only problem is we didn't realized our baby would be a "large baby" for whom the stroller looked tiny :D well this was something we learned about buying things before. as all my clothes which i bought for him fitted him for only a fortnight. my sister bought a suitcase full of clothes but only 1-2 fitted him .rest were small :) he used to come fit into that. we went to look for chameleon but the 2 fold put me off and offcourse the waiting list was 2 months at that time. anyways first 3-4 months you'll use the car seat on the stroller. you can look on dubizzle for second hand too once you finalize.

i have noticed my 1 year old favours right side. When he walks he tilt a little towards right side and instead of walking straight he always runs little off the side. (okay hat might be due to recent found mobility and trying to gain the balance) but even while sleeping if i put him on his left side he turns towards right or on his back. i just want to get him checked for my peace of mind. where should i go and can anyone refer a doctor preferably with the insurance.

just keep it simple. i did a nice spread once or twice for my dh's clients but it got troublesome with my baby looking for me all the time and my dh didn't had a clue :) (still he doesn't have! ) i remember once during such visits my ds started crying and i went for his feeding and nappy change and asked my husband to serve juice in the mean time. when i came back he was sitting with his friends with only sweets and snacks infront of him. he couldn't find juice glasses or the tray to serve!! he mixed up all the snacks and served them altogether! after that i always kept it simple to cookies, sweets, nuts and crackers with the ready made dip from spinneys. keepig everything away and doing dishes is also very cumbersome.i know there are some people for whom you have to serve a elaborate one. Congratulations with the twins.

its a beautiful name... :) as OP suggested be careful of who you share this name with. when we were searching names for ds my inlaws used to say its good to me and then to my dh that this name is not good!! finally just few days before delivery i came across a name while reading a book. we liked it so much and didn't shared with anybody. just told when he was born. although my MIL is not happy and has her own name to call him which doesn't bothers me. go with the one which you like afterall you'll be calling the given name atleast 30 times a day! :D

i got lots of tshirts made for my ds and dh from deira city centre. on lower ground there is a kiosk infront of mothercare. they charge 35 dhs for the printing if you have your own t shirt. they are pretty good. also there is one shop in dubai mall on ground level exactly at the waterfall, near tea shop. but i don't know the price there. edited by angel joy on 24/04/2013

Suddenly my 1 year old has become afraid of water, grass, clattering sound, some of his toys,etc.. last month i noticed when we went to beach he was very clingy to me and sat on me only. he was afraid of the sand and was screaming if we took him near water. so i just sat with him on my lap. after 1 hr or so he tentatively touched the sand, i encouraged him so he just kept on touching with his 2 little fingers but would not sit. finally he went to water too but holding tight onto me so i just went few steps in and took him out. we tried to take him again after 15 days but it was same. he used to love beach before. didn't wanted to come out of water at all and we had to take him home forcefully but now its the opposite. i thought this might be due to a long gap (1 month almost) for the visit to the beach. this is one thing..he sits by me and play in the kitchen while i cook. from past few days he holds onto my leg all the time and even if he sits and play if a utensil makes sound he comes running to me and hold me tightly...same happens with his toys that have sound. i am not able to understand this sudden behavioral change. he has started showing tantrums also at the same time. if i say "no" to anything it will be either rolling on the floor or biting me... physical distraction works with him for few minutes only then he is back at the same work. i am worried about his sudden fears. i don't want to aggravate them just tackle them in their own time.

i started with glenisk and my baby loved it. then after few months (10 month old) i changed it and started giving normal full fat yoghurt with any fresh fruit puree. although he loves plain too. i am giving yoplait at the moment as organic is not available most of the times.

Don't know much about the UK procedure but when i needed to get some docs attested back home we used a agency which was approved by our embassy. all the documents were attested within 15 days. there was urgent fees too if required. so you can check out which agency collaborates with UK embassy.

awwww you are still in that stage. my baby was very loud in those days. he used to scream so much everybody on our floor and above us used to hear him :) he still screams but not as loud as before. i didn't knew that so small babies could be so loud!! he likes to tear sophie apart with his gums....i am wondering when her leg will come apart. i bought various teethers but he used ot take only one...tommee tippee different stages teether. not sure if yours would like it. you can check in mom and me.and he used to eat napkins.you know they are only pacified by the forbidden items. mine love to chew on spoon, bottle caps, bottle, anything..today only he was chewing his cot bed leg!! bent himself down to the floor and eating it :D i don't know if cucumber you can give or not...you can try googling it.

big hugs to you Juliana. i have been in the same boat so i know how difficult this phase is.mine was the same case first time, no heartbeat at 6 week scan...i actually waited for whole month and consulted at least 4 different docs but all said the same term "missed miscarriage" i didn't had any bleeding and the pregnancy symptoms of nausea continued throughout. so had to get the D&C done rather then waiting of rthe nature to take its course. and i think as ilovewine says its much more traumatic. i was very distraught as already i was advised to concieve soon due to other medical difficulties. but my gynae was very good and steered me away from depression. she said after this i have much more chances of concieving if i loose whatever weight i have put on soon. suffice it to say i devoted my energy to exercises rather then thinking and just after 3 months without any medication i concieved again. recently in dec again the same problem was there but this time i had my ds to distract me. these things are so stressful but you just keep on hoping and everything will be fine for you soon. God bless you dear!

My heels are saved for special outings and parties where walking is minimal. Don't know how people wear them to walk around the mall. They must not be pushing strollers or picking up their weekly/monthly grocery with little ones in tow. And if they are, whoohoo more power to them! yeah true...i am tired in my running shoes sometimes :) pushing the stroller and then walking with the toddler is no fun. i always keep atleast 2 pairs in car and one more pair of flats in the stroller. don't know which becomes uncomfortable after some time ;)
