Nippy as I said earlier in the thread I'm pretty sure the reason he wants you in court on Thursday is because once the case is lodged here and both parties agree it is then impossible to file in the UK. This is what I would find out as a matter of urgency. If this is the case you need to get out and back to the UK and file immediately.

I was under the impression that whoever files for divorce first and where that is the jurisdiction where the divorce case is heard regardless of where you were married so may be too late to start proceedings in UK. Has he told you who his lawyer is?

Did they tell you they would have to dye it twice ? You usually have to dye it red first before brown if going from blonde. Maybe that's why it seems expensive

Guess if it's a serve yourself thing, it can't be as bad service as normal, so that's a plus for starters, lol... Glad it's just not me that thinks the service there is terrible - everyone I know raves about the place - my views are food is ok sometimes but service is dire every time.

Funny that I've just looked and the profile option isn't there now. If you log out and then back in again the option is on that first page that comes up next to sign out . Once you go past that page there is no way back very odd

Not sure about that but good luck I'm sure your son will love it. I took my daughter to Manchester last year to see him in concert and not really sure I would want to hear all the teenage girls screaming again luckily she's going with a friend this time

but in the uk would you drive up and down the m6 from london to b'ham every day? Perhaps not, but I definitely stood on an overcrowded tube for more than an hour in each direction yeh i did that when i was in london and its not fun, but the amount of people doing the commute from dxb/ad is not the same as people do in the uk etc in a car, not on public transport. even if there was a train between the two, the problem is that the public transport is not up to the mark yet to ferry people where they need to go. So why use uk that has got public transport in place as an example? because commuting on a train was mentioned. anyways it doesnt apply to me as i live in abu dhabi but i do have to put up with the traffic which is definately coming from dubai direction. Nobody mentioned commuting by train before you made your comment, as obviously there isn't one. Doesn't apply to me either but not right at all for people to have to uproot and move.

Thanks for the tips will try both. Just noticed on the packet (square wraps Oz make) it says keep out of sun and away from heat so I suppose if they are not transported properly it may cause them to be brittle?? Could be--sounds like the same ones. What floored me was how many grams of carbs was in one flimsy wrap. As paper thin as they are, you would think it would be way less. My husband usually gets a low carb version from another brand, it is more like a tortilla. Texture isn't weird or rubbery, either. I'm just doing low fat at the moment so didn't really check out the carbs! Any idea where he buys the others from, these ones are from spinneys

We did this recently but was made a little easier because her sister was here. She came to Dubai via China on a tourist visa we then had a month to convert this to employment visa she then had to fly to muscat and enter on pink visa form. You then have 2 months to finalise sponsorship. All went smoothly not sure how to arrange tourist visa though as her sister did that for her.

Irooni please believe me you are stressing over nothing it is so not important at the primary level yes the 20/30 mins per day of gong over things that have been learnt but certainly not revision before school!!!!!!!! Wrong wrong wrong on so many levels

Irooni I'm going to say it straight now your children are at primary school a time where they should be having fun, learning yes, but still enjoying and being the young children they are. Unless there is an issue with having to get a certain percentage to move onto the next grade (which I don't think is applicable at any BC school here). In many of your posts over the last couple of years all you seem concerned about is grades/whether the childeren are being challenged enough etc etc. Children are children for such a short time as long as they are happy going to school, learning to the best of their abilities I really cannot see why you are constantly wanting to push them, they should be spending time forging their social skills not with their noses in books there is plenty of time for that, By Proper exams I mean GCSE, GCE before you know it these will be upon you and you will wonder where your children have gone. Enjoy them and let them enjoy their childhood while they can. As I said before this is just my opinion but I speak from experience. Cut them some slack :) edited by angela on 27/05/2012

Okay so we get home a bit after 3pm from school. The children had a extra long day studying for exams and an early morning revising. I told them to relax a little. Before I knew it they were cuddling under a blanket and they fell asleep. I thought oh well, that's great, they will wake up fresh and we will revise. Errrr it's 7:30pm and they are still asleep!!! Exhausted? Wait till they are sitting PROPER exams why on earth are they doing alk this revision in primary absolute madness IMO

What's the time scale I think BC these days incorporates all subjects into projects ie science art maths etc it's a good policy in my opinion as the children can relate more to the concepts. Obviously they are not looking for an art gallery type model just something that reflects the various tasks. Don't stress the teachers know which projects will have had help and those that have been done for them and just to let u know my daughter won 1st place for hers in y2 although it was v basic compared to others but was obviously recognised she had worked on it by herself lots of unhappy parents lol

Have you looked at the apartment blocks in DSO they are not all high storey and loads ofbparents up here doing the Dess/Desc school runs so maybe you can lift share. Desc in particular under the new head has a v comprehensive sports programme and coupled with the fact lots of your childrens friends will also be within the area edited by angela on 07/05/2012

I don't think that is the case at all. It is probably more like that a lot of the "good" schools are outstanding in everything apart from the arabic/islamic studies parts, and that is the only thing holding them back. If they can get those bits sorted, they'll move into Oustanding too. That's the way I've read it. Exactly thats what I said but in a different way. What I meant was if Arabic/Islamic studies is not important to you read the reports before making the decision based purely on the outstanding/good/acceptable results. Arabic or Islamic might not be important to the individual but it is mandatory for a school to offer it. If I would be choosing a school I would not consider a school that scores bad in these subjects. I know it is mandatory otherwise I'm pretty sure that most of the BC schools wouldn't bother to do it given the standard of most of the teachers available and the complete and utter waste of schooling time that is given to the subject which would be far better utilised elsewhere. Thats why it is important to read the whole report and make a decision based on what is important to you, as I said in the first instance.

are you happy with the fiberglass pool? i don't know much about them but heard they are better for the dubai climate. i guess getting quotes is the only way i'm going to get a proper of budget. edited by ScottishGal4 on 07/05/2012 Yes weve been happy with ours have had to replace pump and heating element over time and some of the smaller tiles around the top that are in direct sunlight above the water level occasionally work loose but are easily stuck back on. Don't forget to factor in the pool maintenance (unless you plan to do it yourself) think ours is about 4-500 per month for twice weekly visits.
