My DD repeated FS 2 several years ago. She was not traumatized by it at all. I definitely made the right decision. She is doing really well in school now...

Yes, it seems quite uncommon for mothers with children to stick around. If I could, I would leave for the whole summer but my husband is one of those guys who doesn't want to be alone so we have to stay because of his work schedule. I should not complain, though. This summer, I will be gone for one month!

Thank you Ladies for the responses, two very varied ones. I have 4 children ranging in age from 8-1. Blondie, I am sure my older children would enjoy the things that you did. Cheshiregal, I am telling myself that even if it is really boring for my children, at least we could enjoy some nice weather and escape from the holiday rush here. There must be some public parks there? Is it easy to get around in English and are there a lot of public toilets?

That would be big news. I've already paid the 7000 dirham deposit for my son to start FS 1 in September so that would shock me.

Yes, it is possible. My daughter decided two days before her third birthday that she didn't want to wear diapers anymore and that was it. She never even had an accident. I am hoping that my son will be the same. As you said, fingers crossed....

Yes, I do have experience with this. If he has the odd accident in FS 1, it is fine. You will bring a bag of spare clothes and he should be able to change himself if necessary. He most likely would only ever have one accident and then never again because he'd be mortified. I have found that most children wait until they get home to poop. There is something about pooping at school that most children do not like.

At my children's school, it is required from Year 1. My children each have an IPad and I have been told that for the children who don't have IPads, they are required to share theirs.

Anyway, people need to be responsible for their actions. Otherwise, they will just end up the loser. A tourist should know what kind of place they are traveling to. If they don't know that, tough. No one will care about you when things go wrong.

I was just wondering because you wrote that they arrive drunk with no idea that it is against the law to be drunk in public. I don't know about other countries, but I know that in the USA, people are often arrested for "being a disorderly person", which usually means public drunkenness.

The courts should have a quick judicial process for tourists over something very minor like this matter. They've actually just announced, that the government are doing exactly that. Having a spsciel court to deal with tourists quickly, who find themselves in trouble. That's a good thing. That is a good thing, but to avoid tourists ending up in court at all a bit more public information, more accurate advertising and advance warning of the rules to visitors on arrival could likely help avoid many cases in the first place. Tourists arrive completely oblivious to the rules, I have been in arrivals waiting for my luggage and seen tourists who had clearly had too much to drink on the plane stumbling around the luggage carousels drawing attention to themselves with loud behavior, I would suppose they had no idea it is against the law to be drunk in public places rather than deliberately flouting it, why did they not know that, the airlines plied them with as much booze as they wanted but failed to mention that they could be arrested if found under the influence in the street. That, and similar little bits of information could make a huge difference in avoiding the sorts of mistakes visitors inadvertently make. Its quite beyond me why there has not been an initiative in that direction. edited by chezmoi on 24/04/2015 Is public drunkenness legal in most countries?

I was going to say the same thing. He touched her twice. We don't know the details exactly of how he was acting. 7 Days likes to sensationalize. In general, it is common sense not to touch a police officer, wherever you are. I was on a flight once where a passenger got in trouble for touching a flight attendant in a non-sexual way and that is not even a member of law enforcement!

Yes, schools will change their hours as they did in previous years when Ramadan was during the school year. Legally, they have to because school employees (even non-Muslim ones) are entitled to a shorter working day.

thx for your comment.. but its actually should be against the law to not hire a pregnant woman !! i know in the US it is It should be against the law to discriminate but I have heard and experienced so much discrimination due to pregnancy. Would suggest you keep the information to yourself until you are offered a position and then you can disclose. I have read somewhere that you should tell your employer that you are pregnant 8 weeks before your delivery date .. You don't think that they'd figure it out by then? That is 32 weeks pregnant!

Well, I am sticking to buying clothes as gifts. You can get a nice dress or outfit for a girl for 80 dirhams. For 80 dirhams at Hamley's, you can get a cheap Barbie or a small figurine. You can never know what anyone likes anyway if you don't know them. Some girls aren't allowed to play with Barbies/Bratz etc. and some boys aren't allowed to play with certain toys.

I always buy frozen paneer. When I have bought the fresh paneer, it has gone bad really quickly. I would love to go to India one day for culinary tourism. Kamat and Bikanervala are well-known Indian vegetarian restaurants.

Personally, I don't know why people buy baked goods from unlicensed people. You really cannot know how they operate their kitchens. There are no regulations for them! I don't even like eating homemade baked goods from bake sales because I don't know the cleanliness of the person who made them!

I do hate that comment: "Your sister is prettier than you." I don't get why people think they can be so rude. Also, why the need to compare two sisters' beauty? They are two different people! The next time I hear that, I am going to say: "You are not as pretty as Angelina Jolie (for example)." I am sorry that that happened to you, Cowboy. I probably would have left the place if someone had said that to me about my baby! edited by AnonDubai on 09/04/2015
