I am moving to Kuwait soon and will have a work and residence visa. Unfortunately I cannot sponsor my husband for residence and he will be relying on getting a 3 months on arrival visa and doing visa runs. He is qualified to teach English as a second language - will be able to pick up 'local -hire' work and private tuition- or will the on-arrival visa mean he cant. Appreciate any advice on this matter

This is Doha, you need to get unused to proper practices and standards from the UK. Excuses like that don't fly here. If they want to see your payslip you can't refuse.... if you still want a job

Doha College entrance exams are very very straightforward which every english native speaker passes ( and those with good english competency as a second language) . To be honest, as I worked there for a while, they are just a money making revenue stream. Also, DC likes to give itself the air of being a selectively academic school - which is it no especially.

Doha College, Park House, Sherborne and DBS are all great british schools BUT as someone has already mentioned , you cannot apply to schools until you have kids RP and you can't get that until you are in residence . Most newbies will have to come here and accept their kids will be out if school and home schooled for a year or two ,

Sorry to tell you but you have no chance of getting a place this September for any child , which means the next entries are Sept 2015. Also, from 5 years experience in Doha, unless a kid has minor dyslexia no school will even look at him. We have known people come and leave because of such situations
