Even posting about the weather could be construed as 'chat'. And aren't smiley's *naughty* too? hmmm. will ponder what can actually post.

Well it's my understanding it's an information board, and we all know we're not supposed to 'chat', but how on earth are we supposed to share info if all of a sudden it's become advertising and promotion? Do we have trainee mods on board all of a sudden?

Why not? Currently have a resident cat refusing to come in because he is offended by the foster pup's nose up his bum every five minutes, a rabbit taking residence under the couch because he is offended by the dog trying to eat him and a torti resident in the playroom because she is offended by the weather. Whats one more looney?

Geant and C4 had some very cool cooler bags, in all sorts of colours (so not just for 'girls') and sizes. I got a reasonably large one for taking to pool etc, but they had lunch sized ones too. Might be worth a look? Sort of soft sided, insulated bags.

Well, Kacie met with a lovely family Sunday out at Paws and had a lovely play. They already have a terrier with almost identical "special needs" as Kacie. So we are slowly slowly progressing. they had another good long play on our territory today, and then weds we'll send Kacie off for a play on their territory. Fingers and everything crossed. Have another potential fosterer coming out to paws saturday to meet her, so if it doesnt work out with this family, we're hoping we have a foster situation for her for our holidays over the summer. Thanks green-ish, really appreciate your thoughts. **ps: does your friend on FB have a beagle?**

Health Insurance was my thought as well. But can you not get cover for up to a year worldwide? Thought that was what we get...

Give Tariq a call on 050 5521074 - he helps me out from time to time. But do it quickly. Why quickly? Is tariq off somewhere? Or is there a time issue in recovering photo's from the hard drive? I can rec. Tariq as well...he's done a few things for us.

We can't make it out to Paws today, but would be happy to help with fostering with the view of adopting if she and our boston terrier get along :). Which part of town is she staying in? We are in Umm Sequim and can arrange something this week. HTH edited by 4sidekicks on 18/06/2011 4sidekicks, thats great, will email you. edited by arohadxb on 19/06/2011

Oh shazman..thank you. Kacie likes cats, but i have to say that our boy is not so fond of her...however he has never had any encounters with dogs or puppies before she came to stay. She is rubbish with bunnies (wants to eat them) ok with torti's. Great with kids. Coming along BEAUTIFULLY with other dogs..she goes to paws for training and socialization and this last weekend we kennelled her at woof...from the photos and feedback she was excellent with the other dogs there for daycare and over the weekend stays. She will have to be introduced to potential homes/families without me and out of her own environment. She is very attached, to her detriment... without my presence she shows herself in her true light as a deligtful happy dog. the barking bit will come later as she protects house and family from gusts of wind and falling leaves, gardeners and truck backfires ;)

I hated this letter, hated it and sobbed like a baby. I may have to put our foster down in a month if a home can't be found for her...can you imagine how that feels? A perfectly healthy/ perfectly good dog put to sleep? It's awful. I am however prepared to do it, and to read that fecvking letter from a dog just made me feel manipulated and criminal. emotional blackmail indeed.

The smile and deep breathing - not in the mood. But wine? At this hour? Now there is an idea! Wodka cures all! Blowed if I know what will do when mother leaves again and I have no excuse/reason for a lunchtime cocktail!

Ladies I really support adopting an animal from a rescue shelter, but having a pet is a big responsiblity and as someone who's had dogs for years I really think very carefully about the personality, habits and activity level of the dog in the context of my living situation. I don't think it's fair to criticse someone for being sensible. I wouldn't necessarily want a jealous small breed near very young children or babies. At the same time I might not want a digger or hunter in an expensive garden that has lots of maintenance.....or a very intelligent guard type dog in a house with neighbours because he might bark..... Dog lovers understand dogs and different breeds' personalities so we are being sensible and making good choices when we pick a breed. I'm looking for a small terrier mix dog. It doesn't have to be thoroughbred but I definitely want it to be small becuase of my tiny flat and I love terrier mixes. I'm put off approaching shelters and rescue centre because I don't want to be judged for asking them if they have a terrier / poodle type and I don't want to have a big dog forced on me. Terrier mix? Did you say terrier mix? I have one that I foster....Kacie...she's on dubizzle and if you do a search on here you'll find links to a pic of her.

I don't know about JPS specifically, but the assessment is just usually observing the child..playing, drawing, in the class room in general. Teacher may ask some colours, numbers etc but it's all done in a very relaxed way and to the childs age level. Nothing to be worried about.

It's from New Zealand, in NZ it coast between 6 and 7 Dollars, and in dubai, it could be between 12 and 20 aed - these are 3 or 4 years ago in co - op and spennies.... try over 100dh now....proper honey has been priced out of sanity. even clover honey is between 28 and 50 dh depending on brand. DEAR GOD! 100 dh!!!!! it's only Rata honey!!! maybe I have to wait till next visit to WLG, then stack on it!!! maybe I should wait till November then? or any body having someone coming from NZ? I appreciate 6 or 12 pots of them, I'll pay for it? any one? if not more....absolutely get someone to bring it for you. Back in NZ we used to have ozzie friends who would stock up on it by the suitcase load. shocking here. and absolutely essential for proper hot toddies and lemon drinks in general.

Workschool, I'm not exactly sure WHY you are canvassing for others feelings on play time at this time of year, when it's your school you have a very obvious problem with. What difference if some of us feel a 10 minute play outside does more good than harm? If some of us appear to be very happy with our own schools outdoor play requirements? Youre not happy with yours so best you attend to it. I'm with BM...no hat no play policy, BIG emphasis on water drinking, sunscreen, cover and indoor areas as a play option, so lil miss can of course go for a blat in the playground for 10 mins a day if she so desires.

Outside is fine...so long as shaded, plenty of water to drink, wear a hat, sunblock and option to go inside for a cooler play area when ready. They're kids...they will chose outside everytime, and they need at least a short sharp blast of full on physical activity to let off steam and function well in the classroom.
