we don't have any electronic gizmos or games, but there are days when I wish we had another computer for lil miss. she uses the paint and art applications and has access to sites for phonic and mathletics and can't say that she would want or need much more than that for quite some time. It's just between her and hubby I can't get at it when I need/want to! And it appears to be stuffed anyway so I guess we're all out of luck for the time being!

Would it not be easier to ask the people who work in the store while you are there ? Customers services would also help. thats a laugh and a half...customer services? ask someone? if they know where their elbows are at any given minute I would be surprised. They're with the mops and dish brushes and brooms etc in C4 I cant seem to find them anywhere!! Have looked in Carrefour and Geant and had no luck. Am I looking in the wrong aisle?

do you take any other medication? When i first started taking anti depressants it took a while to sort out..EP can and does react with other meds. So, as a for instance, I would take my natural supplements in the morning and other meds at night and voila: physical reactions gone.

We pay around 300dh per treatment. I think there is an additional fee the first time you go as you get a full consultation/set up carry on but after that it's just the same treatment fee. Sounds abit weird to me.

so lemme get this straight...so far this morning us EW'ers who use the forum to ask what might be construed as a stupid question by some of us more enlightened folk have been called: stupid lazy technologically impaired haveheightened self importance issues and are time wasters. care to add a few more of your insights ladies? Don't hold back now girls...really let us know what you think of us all ;) hehe - but there's proper questions and the proper daft ones like "what should I have for tea?" I also don't believe that anyone born after 1975 can be so technologically impaired as to not know about Google. I beg to differ. "What should I have for tea" is an excellent conversation starter and not a daft question. Talking about what people are having for tea can be revealing and enlightening, from the different English terms for types of veggies and dishes among the US, UK and Oz to getting an insight into what people actually eat nowadays. I have learned to widen my scope of what I cook at home due to these type of threads. ... or it could just be that they are incapable of independent thought. (that's another one for your list Aroha!) adding it. AND I'm going to add too old to google, given some of us were born on the wrong side of '75 :)

No I don't have any of my art work, school work or even photos from when I was a kid. So, what I do have for lil miss is a folder for each years school work. Her art work is hung or pinned to a giant board in the play but as she has aspirations to be an artist I am RUTHLESS with throwing things away or I would have drowned in it or accidently caused a fire hazard. And as I look around this morning I'd safely say, it's too late..we are a pit and a hazard. Shame am on strike today and it won't be getting sorted. Later I will cull again, and have a best of folder for foundation/primary/high school.

Because EW is the thinking womans google? Because it's much more personal to have a wee conversation and a 'good morning' with your fellow EW'ers rather than a wham bam with google? Because EW is quicker than google? Because everything you read on google is 'right'? Because one persons stupid question is anothers problem that can be helped? Because the world got too impersonal and cut off from society when we learned to inter webby everything? Because what use would EW be if we all took your splendid advice andjustfuckinggoogledit?

hmmm, to get any where near a shouting match (twice in, oh, 10 or 12 years?) I give the man a silent shoulder for max 2 days so that he will get the point that I do actually mean business. We can talk til the cows come home, but he is usually too reasonable and I'm left feeling like my worries/complaints/anxieties/ pissedoffishness are just plain unreasonable or pmt ish or unreasonable, or unwarrented. hmmm. If he has taken the child, and cooked the lovely dinner, then you can rest assured that he knows dam well he has wronged and this is his way of 'making up'. Mine is notoriuosly bad at apologising so any effort to help me or do something nice is the best i can hope for. and yeah, I love mine to bits too. Men sometimes seem to me be to be a breed a part, but then he will observer me with girlfriends and think WE are all plain mad. Sounds like my DH. If there is anyone shouting, it's me. I wish he would shout and we could have a **** of an argument. But no, he has to sound so reasonable and stay totally calm and never sulk. b@stardly annoying hey? ;)

well there you go, theres yet another thing to take into concideration...age. Now I know that as a young girl about town, I was far more stroppy and my relationships far more volatile. Himself and I hooked up at...umm, 28ish? both well into our careers, over the fun and games of early 20's/ late teens and were well developed characters. We'd had independence, experience personally, so could meet on an even ish playing field, wilth abilities to discuss, debate and set ground rules as human beings and what each of expected from a relationship. I'm not saying that young fellas and felles cannot do this, but i do wonder if age=experience makes the ride easier?

yeah, time married may well be a concideration,,,,(i think we are coming up to 10 years married but together longer? I forget how long exactly) but our pattern was set from very early, pre kid, pre marriage etc. Thats not to say that stuff between partners doesnt mellow with time, I just don't know...can only say how it is/was with us. I wonder if culture comes into it? Dominant matriachal or patriachal societies? And if we as women have deviated from what is the norm within those?

i think we don't fight or disagree over kids really, it's more a tolerance level if that makes sense? as a stay at home mum, we build tolerance, but also methods for dealing with issues. Father arrives home, is annoyed by noise/misbehaviour/mess and goes to assert authority (so to speak) and it comes across wrong...more as he would deal with an errant team member/dodgey contractor etc.

I'm talking proper shout shouting matches..is that right? we can snipe and grump, but that doesnt count surely? Yep ... proper shouting matches! About once a month. And after the last one, I have decided never ever to argue with a man who is angry. He then puts ego before logic. *sounds like me just quietly* arh, they are all different, as are we, and there are many many dynamics that work well in partnerships that can seem unlikely to an outsider. Also, do bear in mind that an outpouring of emotion, whichever way that is expressed (ie, a good stand up shouting match)is a pressure valve relieved...it can do good. I guess the thing we 'fighters' have to keep in mind is that we stiil respect love and honour the other. When it becomes dismissive, derogotory or hate filled venom...then we can be wary. You love the person, hate their actions...if that makes any sense at all? (think have spent too long with 5 and 6 year olds :D)

agh, no...is frustrating. I'm a fighter and would rather clear air and get it out of the way...he is lazy/toocalm/not wanting upset in his life and that annoys me. So...the sulk to get a fight to change the situation. Not terribly mature I know, but...it does work for us. (btw...he is reading this and laughing at my descriptions of him!)

she feels like a sexpot hot mama, and he feels like he has 'ownership' of same...it sends up warning flags for all us old fogies who have been there done that, but i have actually met women into their 50's and older who enjoy that feeling...they liken it to protection, or the safe delish feeling of being with a strong handsome man, or a father figure.

750dh is the minimum cost for eat and drink, and it works out to be around 150 shwarmas. What has happened with us, is they maximise the shwarma's if that makes sense. So...if they see there is only 20 guests they make the shwarmas bigger to match the crowd, and if crowd is bigger they make em stretch so you still can bank on about 3 shwarma's per guest which ever way. You need to pop into eat and drink and finalize booking order and pay a deposit, and you pay the balance to the man on the night. (just as a note...your man on the night will expect to be supplied with drinks...soft drink like coke while he works of course, but every time a coconut they try to scam us out of beer/wine as well as a tip when he packs up and leaves) Have fun..they're great and can't recommend them enough

It was only 5% but definitely and are demanding more now with KHDA approval... :( They might be demanding but are they legally allowed to? :) OK, however, they like to phrase it we have just had to pay 10k re-registration fee to hold our place for this coming September. All approved by the relevant authorities. It is basically 27ish% of our years fee 6 months in advance of the school year. So fee upfront, registration whatever they call it they have had it OK'd. Outrageous, but there it is. The remainder paid in equal amounts in 3 post dated cheques for each term. And when you dont pay they send you this...... According to our records, you have not reregistered your child(ren) for the academic year 2011/12 in accordance with the requests and information regarding the re-registration process previously circulated. We are now working on the assumption that you do not intend your children return to R in September. As such, we have released the places to the waiting list and have already started assessing pupils for the spaces available. Therefore, it is imperative that you contact the Registrar to complete the re-registration process including handing over necessary cheques. If you have already completed the re-registration process and you have still received this message, we kindly request you to contact the Finance department at the school for further clarifications. edited by LovinDubai on 04/05/2011 blimin blackmail pure and simple :( We did fight a well known school here about 2 years ago who were wanting close to 20k, most of which was non refundable, in Jan, for the Sept intake. We did win, but it got so nasty (the school) that it left a very foul taste in my mouth. You have to think that if the very heart of the school in it's admin will fight so dirty, and so illegally, then it's values lie somewhere very different than the education and wellbeing of your child. Happily we found another school that not only follows the law regarding fee's but is an excellent school. Not quite the outcome the school expected given the scarcity of places for foundation kids, mass redundancies and very uncertain financial futures for everyone, thats for sure.
