Bump..... please share your story, if you have gone this route....as we are also looking at this option in the upcoming days..... I know that it is possible, the ONLY issue can be Philippine's immigration. That is if they suspect she is going for a maid's job, they can stop her from leaving. Advices please!

I think they know they are being rude but just like to say these rude things and feel superior about themselves, as if having a child has granted them some position in the society!

And then you get the idiots who ask you about kids when you are unable to have them like my poor DD who has had IVF which failed. She is now looking at adoption. One of her [b'>"friends"[/b'> wanted to know whose fault it was and maybe she could try a one night stand with a trusted male friend who was fertile!! My DD's response is not printable! Terrible.......such a personal thing......isnt your DD going through enough to encounter this "friend" of hers.....how dare she! I am glad she came up with an "unprintable" response, then and there! Just reminded me of my dear friend, who got pregnant with twins after 6 - 7 years of marriage and lost them in her 5th Month.........People had the guts to say, that, " It is the God's way of punishing you for refusing his blessings for the past few years".............Match that!

I just had to log in to reply to this thread...as this topic is something very close to my heart! ! ! As DH and I had decided early in the marriage not have kids till we are well settled in life....Got married very very young! (18 years old) We have been married for 14 years and belong to a culture in which the nosy people expect you be pregnant ON the VERY 1st night ;) and they DO ask QUESTIONS! So imagine, 14 years.......this is how my story goes, with men/women meeting us for the VERY first time, e.g. husband's colleague's wife, friends of friend's etc: # of years after marriage: 1 - 2 : No worries, you will have them soon. God is great! 3 - 5: Raised eyebrows....Kids are such a pleasure...have them while you are young 6 - 8: You guys are not getting younger...you should think about it... 9 - 11: So the problem is with you or the husband? .....I do know of a very good doctor 12-14: Most of them have given up! The point is....people are never happy.....they just think, it is their DUTY to poke nose in YOUR business! and pass rude comments!

Usually the agencies are not willing to transfer the visa. They would rather cancel the visa and place a ban on the maid than transfer her to the other sponsor. This is what i experienced.....maybe someone can tell you a positive story.

If you died at home and your dog was there what do you think would happen? To quote Stuart Lee, educated British stand up comedian, your dog would 'eat you'. Dogs are not part of the family, they are animals with animal instincts. As Stuart says, as far as your dog is concerned, you are meat, with a voice. Nothing makes me angrier than pet lovers. Sorry. So basically, according to her, we should be taking advises about the life of our beloved pet from a stand up comedian?? I hope she turns to someone else for major decisions of her life, like kids, education, marital issues etc. rather than turning to this idiot comedian...... Her whole post is just utter nonsense and the poster has no idea what she is talking about and missing in life by being a pet HATER! And what about dogs who have patiently stayed by the bodies of their owners, sometimes for days, waiting for someone to come along. [u'>[b'>In some cases the owners have even been saved this way[/b'>[/u'>. They have been known to known detect cancer, identify when a seizure is setting in etc.....Also, am sure anyone who had seen the movie, 'Hatchi'......can vouch for a dog's dedication to the family.... Also, the story behind HMV's logo and tagline, "My master's voice".......Simply beautiful!

Apologies for a daft question...but what do they and pineapple signify? Something naughty?? Yes,,, can v be a bit more revealing while being discreet??? is it to do with WHAT they resemble?? ETA: Dr. google helped me increase my GK about pampas grass ;-) but just shows that pineapple signifies hospitality....:-( edited by Ashkash on 14/04/2014

I am probably showing my age, but I trained our Dogs the "Barbara Woodhouse" way! You may feel a bit silly at first talking to your dog in public like this, but dogs really do "get it" with only a a little bit of training. Every time you take your dog out have a pocket full of small treats, and every time your dog actually performs repeat the same words or phrase every time and then give him a treat and praise enthusiastically. Any phrase will do as long as you use the same ones all the time - ours were "busy busy" for a wee and "do it do it" for a poo. Every time he performs give the treat and before long he will associate the phrase with what he's required to do and will soon learn to do his duty almost to command. Our Irish Wolfhound was so well trained by this method she would try to perform on command even if she didn't need to go and would squat and try even if there was no end result, she'd still get praised. Eventually you can cut out the treats as your dog should then be able to recognise what's needed and follow these commands as easily as sit, lie down etc. Everyone in the family who takes the dog out should follow the same routine with the same words to avoid confusion and with a small amount of effort you should get success. Also what i felt worked for us when she was a puppy to ignore the accident inside the home. As ANY attention paid to the incident can help the dogs associate that they get attention from you, even if they are being scolded. Treat on the 'job' worked for us....and now i cant even remember how long its been since she had an accident incident. Also, if possible, keep her tied to you then you are at home.....maybe a long leash attached to your trousers....so while you are re-training her like a puppy, she is always around you (as indicated that due to the size of the house you might not be able to hear her requests). HTHs

Living in AR is awesome & very welcoming- we love it! Each of the Reems has a pool, but you can also use any of the other pools in AR. Exhale gym in Motor City is now sadly closed, but there are lots of other options in both Motor & Studio Cities. Look on FB pages 'Ranches Mums', & 'Ranches Ladies' but you can't join until you are actually living there. Regarding finding a house... Talk to House Hunters or Better Homes RE who both have booths in the AR shopping centre. HTH totally agree....v love it here!

If possible do a DIY fummigation: 1. Choose a time when all of you (humans & pets) can leave the house for atleast 2 - 3 hours. 2. Clear the kitchen counters of any edibles /washed dishes that can get contaminated 3. Treat all your drains with drain opener and hot water 4. Get those nasty smelling mosquito sprays from C4, Lulu etc (3 -4 cans, depending on the size of your home). 5. Either you or DH, wear a mask and then just empty these cans all around the house....paying special attention to the dark corners (behind cupboards, under beds, sofas etc). Be careful, not to spray directly on any fabric or permeable material..as usually these sprays are oil based. 6. Close the house and enjoy some time out (maybe an evening tea....as this is moore effective if done during dark or atleast when evening is approaching). 7. After 2 - 3 hrs return home, keep the kids out and one adult with a mask enters the house and air it (if opening the windows, then make sure to do the netting), switch on the ACs. 8. All can enter the house when the smell is gone. 9. Begin the lovely chore of changing bedsheets, towels etc... I know sounds a lot of work...but very effective! HTHs

Geordie is exactly right. One of the risks of starting food early is allergies. [u'>[b'>Now I don't care particularly what you do to your child but [/b'>[/u'>... Allergy Risk Tied to Early Solid Foods Exclusive Breastfeeding for Six Months Is Protective, Top Allergy Group Says July 28, 2006 -- New moms should breastfeed exclusively for six months to help protect their babies against developing food allergies later on, one of the nation's leading allergy and asthma groups says. Solid foods of all types should be avoided for the first six months, and certain items -- like cow's milk, eggs, fish, and nuts -- should not be introduced until even later, according to a consensus statement on infant feeding released this week by the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). "It is important to understand that we are talking about exclusive breastfeeding, with no formula, soy or anything else," researcher Amal Assa'ad, MD, tells WebMD. "This appears to be important for protecting against allergies." The ACAAI committee came up with its recommendations afte Really ! ! ! but you went to the trouble to Google, read and then Cut & paste here! Kudos for your concern!

Thanks, dolleymadison. As I said, there are many views on this and many research studies done in different ways on different populations. You won't find a definitive answer in the medical journals. Sorry - but that's the reality of research studies. They all have biases and limitations. I believe that parents need to make their own informed decision. My view is based on talking to my pediatrician, my own research and my friends' experiences. That was enough for me! Fine. You go right ahead and discount the experts based on your own biased beliefs. Don't understand what's your problem if she doesn't want follow what you have provided. My two both started at 5.5months. Didn't have any issues. No need to be rude,Dollymadison. Each to their own.....this forum is to share ADVICE.....and NOT about imposing your views... As most have indicated, each to their own, each child is different...different things work for all.....as for researches....always take them with a pinch of salt, as after few months there would be a NEW Research which contradicts the existing one!

good luck! i used to have a problem with oily skin, but i use clarins night oil at night now, and although it sounds strange, your skin stops producing oils when you apply it, takes a few days for your skin to get used to it though, maybe when you come back? when i got out, i just use a bit of cheapy boots loose powder and im matte most of the ngiht (unless i dance!) Yup...sounds strange...will definitely give it a try once i am back.....am tired of this sticky feeling....:(

Try [b'>[url=http://www.karaja-make-up.it/en/prodotti/viso/fondotinta/stopshine.html'>Karaja Stop Shine[/url'>[/b'> .. Works well in Pakistan humidity; am assuming SriLankan weather will be similar Yes, Srilanka is almost the same as Pakistan...where can i find this in Dubai? Karaja is available in Debenhams - Mall of the Emirates (and I assume other Debenhams also) as well as at VavaVoom in Mirdif City Centre Will try both and let u know.... Thanks..as i am just on my way to Mirdiff! :) Great .. I swear by Stop Shine but Karaja also has a Photo Finish for oily skin so try both and hopefully one should suit you Stop shine is very lightweight and has medium coverage which I need to conceal my acne blemishes :(
