Awww Sue, thanks! I might have to work part of the day which will help, and then will have to Skype friends and family etc, so by then it might be nearing the end of the day anyway! Some good tips and advice though - like getting a massage or nails done etc. Might do that ;-)

Considering buying a new one, but with only two months left seems a bit of a waste. Anyone got a partially used one they'd consider selling?

Hi Binky1 .... Can I recommend the Leavesdubai fb group? I know you may feel you're not there yet, but believe me the members were largely all in the same boat as you at some point. Meeting Weds night this week ... Great advice, great support.

I had a week where I was properly mad at him after he told me about the other woman. By this point I had been in my own place about a month. I've joined Leaves Dubai and will be at the next meeting. Edited to add we had been together 17 years, married for nearly 15. But part of our 'problem' was that we had become best friends rather than husband and wife, and I guess thats what we will remain as.

Ruby Red ... i've just been through exactly the same ... I am in now month 9 down the road. We are formally separated, and I don't expect there will be a reconciliation. My husband turns 40 this May, and although for a long time he denied there was another woman, 10 days before Christmas he admitted there had been someone else all along. Hasten to add, we are now in February, and (surprise, surprise) its not working out as he had expected with her! Hard as it is to believe, I'm still his friend, and we see each other about once a week. I just feel sorry for him that he has put himself through the last year. Keep strong. Edited to add I've just joined the facebook group suggested - wish I had heard about it earlier. edited by assisi on 08/02/2014

My brother had it a few years ago when in his mid-twenties. Two surgeries, and two/three rounds of radio-iodine therapy sorted it out :). It had gone into his lymph nodes before it was diagnosed .... Happy to put you in touch if needed :)

According to official website there is currently a break in live action and the semi-finals start at 5.30pm. But ... It seems like it might stream live on the website when the rugby returns, or possibly on Dubai Sports Channel 2 (552 on my box) ... Thats what other websites say.

I don't think we would be acting responsibly if we homed him to live with an FIV- cat, and obviously we would be open to severe criticism if that cat then became FIV+.

Still needs a home I'm afraid :(. Has now been at the vets for 4 months!!! He sooo needs a place to call his own, as he is getting increasingly frustrated with us :(. He is a real character, who really likes a play in the mornings, but usually is then sleepy for the rest of the day. Anyone??? Pleeease?? Edited to add, Blue is FIV+ which means he has to be an indoor cat, and live with no other cats. In all other respects he is exceedingly healthy, but just needs the security of a *home*. edited by assisi on 27/08/2013

Unfortunately, Blue isn't a 'first time' cat and is quite high maintenance. Most experienced pet owners would love his interactive nature, however, a first time cat owner, with a child, probably isn't the right mix, and bearing in mind he has been returned to us several times now, we want to make sure any other possible adopters are fully prepared. So, Blue still needs a home ... not an office, or a cage, but a place to call his own forever.

I am very sorry to report, that although three ladies came forward from my original post, we still haven't found a forever home for Blue, and he is still stuck at Nad Al Shiba Vets! If you live in an apartment or villa, have no other cats, and are willing to take on a beautiful, interactive, housecat such as Blue, [b'>please[/b'> come forward.

Blue is a young, beautiful, Siamese boy who has been living at Nad Al Shiba Vets for a number of months looking for his forever home. The problem is, he has tested positive for the FIV virus ... a condition that cats can happily live with for years, but means he cannot be homed to anyone with FIV negative cats otherwise they will likely get the virus. In all other respects he's extremely healthy. This cat is ideal for someone in an apartment, as he will need to be an indoor cat, who currently doesn't have any other pets, or maybe has a dog (he seems to be okay with dogs). He's extremely outgoing, and loves human attention, playing and generally being a clown! He's very 'interactive'. However, he's now on borrowed time, and as we have been unsuccessful in getting him a home for a number of months, the outlook does seem extremely bleak for him! If you click on our hospital facebook page you can see a lovely picture of him:- https://www.facebook.com/nadvethosp?fref=ts

I have had ultralipo with ultrasound at Thai Elite Spa, which sounds the same / similar to your link, after I bought some sessions through a voucher offer. I am also having LPG there, and am having Cryolipo there next week ... They are situated close to the Abu Hail metro station, and I believe their prices are quite reasonable compared to others. This is all in conjunction with diet / exercise .... Just some more 'tools' (although I am not 100% convinced that they work, giving them a try).

Chocobella - I enjoyed Wheelers of St James brunch last Friday in DIFC. With Laurent Perrier champagne its 450 aed a head (350 aed standard alcohol package, 250 aed non-alcoholic) and it was great as was all a la carte - a huge sharing seafood platter was followed by countless little dishes of gorgeousness continually sent to the table for 4 hours! Great service too. Wouldn't say the formal(ish) restaurant setting would be suitable for you, Taisha.

I have been using Shereen Hassam at Mirdif Physio and Rehab Centre, near Spinneys in Uptown, off and on for nearly two years. I have used others, but once I found her never went anywhere else. She is on holiday right now, but is due back in 2-3 weeks. She generally uses a combination of ultrasound, manipulation, massage, dry needling, TENS machine and heat to get my back functional again.

Update: so spent, I dunno, over an hour, wandering around a piece of parkland between Zabeel 2 and the palace, and lo and behold as I walked past a bush a couple of metres away limpy doggy ran out. Majorly skittish to a point that seeing me made him run to the other side of this large piece of land, and I kinda thought that was that, there was no way I would get him with my bag of treats and he obviously isnt too badly hurt so started to head in opposite direction back to my car. As I walked, though, I noticed he was heading back in my direction, still far away, but I kept an eye on him and where he was going (mainly because he was heading dangerously near the road he had been hit on in the first place). I got back to the road in Zabeel 2 my car was parked on and started to walk towards it, and he ran across the road between me and my car and through the open gates of a villa right on that junction. Obviously his home!!! Was tempted to go and knock on the door, and let them know, but gates were still open, and with how skittish he was, I didnt want to scare him for him to run back to the road again! Little bit cross, but at least he's not dieing under a bush somewhere.

Juan's Salon in JLT has a 3/6/12 month membership scheme where you get LOADS for your money. Eg 6 months is 1200 aed - you get 1 x cut, 1 x colour or highlights, 2 x mani, 2 x pedi, 4 x blowdry, 1 x hair treatment, EVERY month for the 6 months. 12 months is 2000 aed. There are terms and conditions ie you can't choose who you have, you have to book an appointment, and if you have long hair its an extra 100 aed, but seems well worth it to me. I signed up yesterday, and already looking forward to the fact that I can have my hair blowdryed every week for the next six months :)

Landlord gave us notice as obv wants to put rents up ... And we have no dogs now :( so thought we might give an apartment a whirl (although I strongly suspect DH just wants to go to an apartment as a self imposing dog barrier!).
