Oh dear, she is not coping well at all. To be honest it kind of sounds like me when I had my firstborn. I had no one to help me and my husband out of the country most of the time. My LO also had reflux and was also breastfed. Zantac helps with the reflux. The doctor has to prescribe it but it doesnt take it away totally. They usually outgrow it at 9 months. I let my baby sleep with me in my bed so that I could breastfeed him on demand and that way I didnt have to get up and feed him. That helped a lot for me. I know there are people who look down upon this practice but Dr.Sears recommends attachment parenting too. It worked great for me and my baby. I hope your friend finds a solution for herself. It can be a very tough and challenging time. She is lucky to have such a good friend.

Lots of fish at Dragonmart. I wouldnt bother buying a new one. Goldfish die easily and are easily stressed out.

We have just moved into our villa this week - it is in Meadows (in case that is relevant). Went to shower my boys on the top floor and the cold water is hotter than the hot water! Even on full-on cold the water was so hot, it was unbearable. I'm a bit pi$$ed I'm paying a premium price for a villa and 3 of the 4 showers are unuseable. Is this standard operating procedure in summer here or is my villa out of the norm? All our cold water upstairs is affected. Downstairs it is still warm, but not hotter than hot. Just wondering what my chances are of getting the LL to fix it. Thanks in advance. By October your 'cold' water will become cooler and by December it will be cold water again. Lol! Its normal for this part of the world. Good thing is you can switch off you water heaters and save some electricity. Bad thing is you dont have proper cold water. You will get used to it.

Dont think a chemical straightening is safe at 8 months. Im also surprised that you could book a prenatal massage at 8 months as I was told that its not really safe to have massages in the last trimester especially so close to the due date.

My MIL did this not once but twice! I asked her politely through clenched teeth the first time to please not do it. A while thereafter she did it again. My DH had to have a stern word with her as I was ready to strangle her. We already have such a strained relationship and she just keeps digging it into a deeper hole. I feel your pain...

You wont be able to buy a ticket until your visa has been sorted out for your newborn and given to HR to update personal records. Thereafter you can buy a ticket for your little one on the system.

Tell your LL that you have come to the conclusion that he is trying to rent it out again going by the comments of people coming to look at the villa. Ask him if he would be willing to renegotiate the villa price for at least one more year as to give you more time to look for a place. Otherwise if I were you I would downsize temporarily to a smaller villa (not near powerlines) and wait until the right villa comes along for your family.

Asti I would love to try it out, where in Jumeirah is it located? http://www.chaslu.com/ They also just recently acquired a floating pool but I havent tried that one yet. Apparently relaxing but I will stick with the massages ;) I think their price list is also on the website. Starts from 180dhs for a massage.

Thanks ladies. I think we would have to check out Plugins then since we have a gift voucher for 3500 that can only be redeemed at Plugins,Jackies,Jumbo or Jashan. I think of those four Plugins would probably have the best range. Hope they have some nice ovens there! :)

Yellow brick Road and Gulf Montessori would be the closest for you. If your child is 3 then under English Curriculum she would be in FS1 and American Curriculum PreKG. Yellow brick road is English curriculum. There are other nurseries that provide transport and drop off if you arent comfortable with those nurseries. At 3 it is not compulsory to be at nursery or school yet,so you can look around for the best option for your child.

The first deposit is normally 5,000 - in whatever currency you open the account in, USD or GBP They have upped it to 10 000. I'm looking into these things as well and so far no luck. Barclays bank in Cayman Island seems to be a good option so far...

Ive been going there for a few years. They moved their branch from SZR to Jumeira. Their new branch in Jumeira is much nicer than the old one. They have good massages and reasonable prices. Defnitely recommend them.

ocupuncture? i never thought of that... does it actually work? can you recommend someone? as for laser, i'm not sure if it would be required as I have aleady had 3 sugeries to empty and at the moment getting two drained on daily basis (painful but bearable if the alternative is an operation) while going through another course of antibiotic though Iv... it depends if 'i'm lucky' and never have them again.. it has no specific timing 1 week to 4 weeks in between... i wish i found a sure way to prevent it from happening at all :s Acupuncture sometimes work where Western medicines fail. worth a try. In Chinese medicine they say you get boils and pimples if you QI is not flowing properly in your body and there is a blockage. Acupuncture therfor regulates the flow. You heal your body from within. I know it sound hocus pocus to some but I always say "dont diss it till you tried it!". Martine Nates comes highly recommended edited by Asti on 31/07/2011

They also sell the Blu filter at Dragonmart at a kiosk just before the food court. They have 30 day return policy if you arent happy with your filter. We wanted to buy but our shower water pressure is very bad and I doubt we would get any water out if there is a filter attached. The salesgirl said some customers said it improved waterpressure butshe didnt convince me. edited by Asti on 31/07/2011

Dental Spa in Jumeira do excellent veneers. I think the doctors name is Ahmed but I'm not sure. A work colleague of mine had top and bottom teeth done and they look really natural and beautiful. She did say that they are pricey though.

Have you tried acupuncture? A good acupuncturist would be able to recognize the area in your body that needs to be treated to prevent, treat and cure this.

I still cant understand why most hotels prefer to run on empty than bring down their prices. Especially during summer. I think the hotel prices in Dubai is ludicrous. Havent they heard that there is a recession going on?

Thanks so much for your replies, my hubbie is in need of a break from work work work !! Saw the Banyan Tree offer this morning, going to enquire there too. Only problem weve got as we dont have a car (unless we hurry up and get sorted) we'll have to pay a driver or a taxi, so dont want to be going too far ... Really appreciate your replies :) x The Banyan tree offer needs to be used before 30 September,so check the availability on your dates first before buying otherwise you will just waste your money. We also wanted to buy the voucher but all the dates that we could go were already booked out.
