Thx will rub it in tomorrow. Will text shortly sabc. Took ds to dr and they took blood test, had to hold him down basically lying on him to keep him still as he screamed as they took blood. Heartbreaking. DH away on business trip today too so couldn't come with. Doc said it could be due to our fair skin and that we have weak capillaries but then he Che king his blood work as well just in case. When we got home he was running about and fell over and now has a huge graze on his knee... That's going to be a nice whopper. Boys will be boys I suppose! I must get him some long pants to help protect him a bit, only have shorts that fit currently.

Thx ladies I ended up with dress from promod that was ok but won't last for long. I did happen to also stumble on aback dress (maternity) that I had from ds1 and forgot about. I have been looking in new look and others but I'm big chested... Heading into e cup now so struggle with certain designs in tops or maxi dresses (even though I love them). Think I have enough to getbmr thru for now. Just was so sick of not finding anything decent. Buyers for maternity in mother care and h&m for this season seriously have no clue!

Agree with what shelly said. I did mine through city hospital and have met a lovely bunch of gals who we often have play dates with and one of them, DH and I often go out or catch up with hr and her husband it's really nice to have not only learnt some things about the whole birth process but also have some wonderful friends from it. Between four of us, 3 of us are now pregnant again and due 3 weeks after one another, just like last time around (only dif order) and I promise you we didn't compare notes about when to have number two! Lol. So funny. Weare all going back to city once again to deliver.

Another cause of thrush is sweets / too much sugar in diet. Little angel - can boys get e pinworms? Also how do you tell with flash light? Edited to add: I've just looked it up and feel sick. Anything like that creaps me out. edited by AussiePup on 07/12/2011

Thx all. I can say that I did exclusively pump for almost a week at about week 6 because I had thrush and him feeding was killing me I'd be in tears some days. Expressing actually hurt but didn't hurt as much so I did that for 5 days and I would do it based on every time he fed the weeks before so that basically meant I was pumping every 2 hrs and I'd t least wait until there was nothing but a drip for 2-3 mins which would be about the half hr mark. Some days I would get close to 200mls from 1 side, other times only 120mls and no matter how much there would only be 3mls of fat stuff. I ate rather well, I had been (for 10mths prior to the pregnancy) been consulting a nutritionist and continued to take her advice through feeding. I was eating rather well including good fats as I mentioned below. I also increased all of that but yeah had a craving for the peanuts and low n behold the days I'd pump after the peanuts there would be much more fat milk. I thought about the summer thing too kiwispers... But was already drinking 1glass juice in the morning for breakfast then about 3ltrs of water a day, sometimes 4 coz when feeding I was very thirsty. It's just got me baffled so thought I'd see if anyone else had the issue. The advice re the 1/3rd of fatty goodness in expressed milk was given to me by a lactation consultant. Very true about the body reacting differently too with each pregnancy so I guess there is no reason to think that I will have the same problem next time round... Just thought though if there was anything dif to what I'm already doing It might help give a head start or maybe it may contribute :) Thx for all your posts and support xox

My LO fed similarly slawerence21 ... Found out that my milk was watery. I know not evryne is the same but maybe check your b'milk once some has settled in fridge over night... In 120mls about a third of it should be thick and creamy... Mine unfortunately was about 3mls in 120mls. The rest looked like mercy water :( Ds fed for 1-1.5 hrs draining both sides quite frequently and whilst my b**bs got full and at times leaked they never felt real heavy and as soon as ds would feed it was like he had let the air out of a balloon quite quickly. I thought he was draining me completely on each side before I'd swap him over but found that even after half hr of feeding I'd still get 50 odd mls of milk but it was sooooo watery. In the end I had to supplement with formula to fill him up. I managed about 1 week shy of 6 months of bre*st feeding in conjunction with formula which I thought was a reasonable effort. Just another thing to check if you haven't already. Like the others say though... A nice block of 3 hrs uninterrupted sleep and you will feel a million bucks!

Hi all, With DS1 I found at 10 weeks that I had watery milk supply ... No fatty goodness which lead to the discovery that the reason my boy kept crying and not putting on much weight was coz he was blooming starving poor guy. I tried to increase good oils in my diet trying to increase the fat milk and found that loads and I maen like 1kg packet of peanuts over 2 days would give me about 15ml in 3 expresses of fatty milk in 120ml express. DS2 is due in April... Most likely march really... And I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the watery b**b milk before ... If so, did you try anything to increase the fat content, with you subsequent children did you do anything different, did you have fattier milk second time around? Just wondering what I could do now to help. I have increased good fats early... And more of it than what I had when pg with ds1. I'm eating loads of almonds, avocados and cooking with good olive oil or cocconut oil. I have tuna about 3-4 times a week, admittedly canned but good stuff. I know I could eat salmon perhaps once a week but I've really gone off it because last few pieces I've had have not been fresh I don't think, waaaay to seaweed / sea strong taste which just the thought of makes me gag. Ay other suggestions? Might post this on health and main forum too. TIA edited by AussiePup on 03/12/2011

All good here despite a week of not a lot of sleep... Ds1 we have just done cry it out method with and omg it was the, hardest thing I have ever done in my whole life. Giving birth was even easier! But now things have settled and he is starting to self settle which is great. As for the rascal due April he really needs to learn night from day coz seriously the kicks and punches I get between now and 1am are huge... Feels like he is having a party! Lol. Happy birthday to you son CABear Congrats on your little boy lec99. Where is everyone delivering? Or have we already discussed this and I've been out of loop? I'm at city with dr Elsa. Xox

Thx all I will have a look at the sites you have posted. Last night was 40 mins to get to sleep with 1 20 min wake and cry at midnightish. Today for nap he took about 8 mins crying, tonight going optometrist bed 3 mins... Will wait to see what the night holds, I've got my iPod ready to plug in my ears. His little voice is so hoarse with all the crying. Hmmm I don't know if he understands / senses about ds2. I do share the scan pictures with him and tell him he use to be in mummies tummy just like his little brother is now. He has certainly noticed my tummy is bigger, he comes and pats or rubs it sometimes. Lol. Ds has never been a good sleeper, think we attended to him so much when he was younger rather than giving him the chance to settle himself first so have shot ourselves in the foot really.

Ds is 17 mths today. We use Cecile and have tried the 20-5-20 method she suggested as well as longer 45-5-45 he basically goes ok for the first week or so then gets that we come back after the 2nd set and we use anything to get him to sleep. This has reverted to sitting in his room for what can be up to 1.5 hrs and trying to sneak out hoping he doesn't hear us. If he does he cries. If he realizes we are gone he cries. We have tried the whole move further out of the room each night to eventually just standing outside room and calling bed time so he knows we are still there but as soon as he knows we aren't there he cries and doesn't stop til he sees us. We have tried e.a.s.y too and now with having tried all the rest c.I.o is about what's left? c.I.o seems to be only option left. We have always given ds his bottle in his room with lights off, we've been advised to change that, put low light on or even do quietly downstairs so that ds is awake when being put in his cot instead of milk drunk tired. He has a glow worm he has taken to so that is with him in his cot. He has never taken to a dummy. I just wasn't expecting him to get worse with crying as he did last night and today... Everything I've heard re c.I.o says each night will get easier.... Errr no not in our case. I'm 22 weeks pg with ds2. Tired and emotional more than usual of course but we really wNt to nip this in the bud before #2 comes along

Hi all We are now at the stage we have tried soooooooo many methods to gets ds to sleep and settle when he wakes that now all we are left with is cry it out. It's awful. Instead of getting shorter crying/screaming time he has gotten longer! Today is day 3 but will be night 4 tonight. First nights was 1.5 hrs of crying with us going in every 20-30 mins, saying in a firm voice, we love you, it's bedtime go to sleep! Giving him his glow worm toy and leaving room. So that was 2 nights of that. Last night he woke 3 times, the first time took 15 mins to go bk to sleep, 2nd time he settled in 3 mins himself, third time 12.40 he cried and screamed until 3.30 this morning. I went in, gave him water and he lung to that water and wouldn't let go, finally falling asleep holding it - not sucking. He is now in there for his midday and we are at it again. His voice is hoarse from all the crying and angry screaming. What can I do? He was sleeping 1.5 to 2 hrs between 10-12 but on advice I have pushed him to bed at 11 because waking at 12 he did struggle more in the arvo to get to 7pm bedtime. But changing him to 11 sleep he has only slept 1 hr first day nd 45 mins yesterday ( no crying when he went down though). Struggling... What do I do?

Yes quite happy with it being a boy I must admit... I know what to do with a boy. Lol. DH I think had a glimmer of hope for a girl but I was so nervous for a girl ... But as long as he is healthy that's the main thing... So far so good, he is measuring bigger than ds1 at this same time (3 days difference from when I had anomaly scan with ds1 to this time round but wouldn't think 3 days would make a big a difference as what the sizes are showing for this munchkin). So slightly nervous about that. Lol. Congrats on the boy Ann-3. Has anyone else found out or you keeping it a surprise? edited by AussiePup on 25/11/2011

We had the inglsena zippy and thought it was great. Had front and rear facing, one hand fold. Is 12kgs with stroller attachment or that comes off and you attach the car seat instead and frame is light weight but very sturdy. The stroller part folds flat so you don't need to buy a bassinet fitting, it then has a number of dif reclining positions to upright. Mine is for sale on dubizzle, it's blue and in perfect condition. I do have someone coming on sat or Sunday to view it but happy to let you know if it's still available if the lady decides not to take it. Comes with car seat and base (not isofix).

I was just looking up the updated visa info for Oman as I'd love to get back there again and I have a friend coming to Dubai for a month. I love Oman since it's very peaceful, has loads of natural beauty and the people are really nice, gentle and friendly. How long are you planning on going for? Christmas Day is on a Sunday this year, so you could do 4 or 5 days. The drive to Muscat and down along the coast is really pretty too. You can go watch the turtles lay their eggs at night. That was one thing we missed when we were there. edited by natalie8 on 01/11/2011 thanks Natalie8... We had thought of that too but unfortunately DS hates the car so to be strapped in it for more than half an hour at a time makes driving rather difficult. We would have to stop about 3 times for 2-3 hrs before he'd happily get back in the car. We were thinking Spain, Italy or Sth Africa??

we had DS done at about 4 months I think he was... the only pain to him / affect that it had was the fact the gause the next day would not come off at all! we ended up back at City Emergency and spent 4.5 hours with a screaming baby (and bawling mother!) trying to get the gause off and the nerve of the Doctor who performed it (at City) when I called him, told me "just pull it off!" OMG there was no way, we soaked and soaked it but the blood and wee etc had just got it so sticky that we couldn't just pull it off. It was horrible - so when you do do it, make sure they DON'T use the "extra sticky" gause which the Doctor did say to me was some sort of highly absorbable gause which we would be able to pull off... yeah - nup... don't let them put that one on! a regular bandage gause would have done much better me thinks. It was the worst day of my life going to that hospital to have them take it off :( The doctor in emergency though was so lovely and understanding and very patient and calming.

Hi cake pop Congrats on your move. We have a house in Perth and lived in daglish and mount hawthorn before buying. The areas you speak of are neighboring suburbs pretty much of where we lived. I believe sheton collage is good as TK suggested but as for other schools not sure. My girlfriend returned to Perth with her 7 and 4 yr old, I will ask her by text tomorrow for you what schools her kids are going to, and get bk to you. All the suburbs you mention are close to public transport too which is great to get in and out of city. If you guys are pet lovers then Perth is like dog central and there are so many lovely parks you can take the dogs to for a walk and even off lead socialization. :( our poor boys miss the daglish dog park and their buddies.

He he, I love love love surprises but not having to wait 9 months for it so we found out with ds1 and this time round will also have it confirmed. Jojo- had my nt scan at fmc and had the female dr, she was only 70% sure of a oy so didn't say for sure and I believe the guy from there has been wrong before. Sorry dubaikb, our nt scans both times were good. My cousin however had high level of something that was potential for downs, I am ot sure if she went through with more testing but her little one is a.ok no downed at all. Very healthy little boy. Fingers are crossed for you that all is ok. Xox
