Has anyone been to the plant souk yet? The trees in satwa are expensive but sooo full and beautiful and last a long time. I guess I will be sending my DH to satwa tomorrow morning.

just don't give it to her anymore, the longer you wait the harder it will to get rid of it, she will find something else to sooth, like her thumb or blanket. It might be hard in the first day or two once she notices its gone, but then she will forget about it.

Very nice thread! My baby girl is 6 mos and 4 weeks, has 2 teeth! She is rolling around and scooting backwards. I am BF and doing formula. We also started solids 3 weeks ago. She wasn't very happy with baby rice. She does like her Apples, bananas, sweet potato and teething biscuits. She likes to eat however it's tricky to get her to open her mouth, and I don't know why? I tried several different spoons and still nothing. Anyhow 3 weeks ago we did Cry Out Method and ever since she has been sleeping through the night! She used to wake up about twice to nurse. I just love the interaction with her old sister who is 3 years. I can see she loves her dearly and it melts my heart. I'd like to have #3! am I crazy? Glad to hear everyone is doing well :)

I was at PB in Mirdiff two days ago and have to disagree with mum2girls. They had lots of stuff on sale. In the back of the store they had quite a selection of really nice furniture pieces. Throughout the store they had sheets, linen napkins, cushions, baskets, some candles and other items. I could have easily spent couple thousand dirhams in there, especially loved the console table and a dining room table with chairs which had a good discount.

Tx ladies. I narrowed it down to Lisa Dance and Brooklyn Melodies? Although I can't find any reviews abbot Brooklyn Melodies Music Center. I picked up a brochure at AR.

Did not give vitamin D to neither of my kids. My oldest DD is almost 3 hrs old and not a good eater and we give her the Flinstones MultiVitamin (from the states) my other DD is almost 4 months and is exclusively BF and no vitamins.

Hi my DD who is almost 3 yrs old has PB Kids furniture which includes the bed and the mattress. The mattress is comfy, you only have two choices of the mattress when you go into the store. From what I heard from my friends and after reading reviews only about PB Kids beds they are highly recommended and last for a long time regardless the prices. I also bought the sheets here and they are fine.

hey abl - i just had my 2nd baby here in dubai and for prenatal vitamins i would always take Womens One a Day Prenatal from the States. If I run out then I'd buy the Pregnacare and any additional supplemental that you'd need. To be honest here the drs are not very pushy for vitamins as long as you're taking your folic acid. So next time you're in walmart stock up on your vitamins, because thats what I do :) Best of Luck.

Hello March Ladies, just to let you know that DD, Madison Cate was born on the 24th March weighing in at 4.22kgs. Still in hospital as she's lost too much weight, hoping to try and feed every 2 hrs today to at least maintain her weight. Bored and want to be home now. So did we have any boys in March??? Congrats! I love the name by the way, she will def gain the weight back once your milk fully comes in, she was born at good weight so they should let you go home, I know how you feel being stuck in the hospital. Wish you all the best and enjoy your new baby girl! edited by Barbara19 on 26/03/2011

Hi stovetop. I went through the same thing. My baby girl is 12 days old today and bf is going well. I will say that the first 7 days of bf are the hardest and most painful (well for me it was) my nipples were cracked so I used lansinoh after each feeding. I was also engorged badly. So I would do hot compresses with wash cloth, hot showers, and also applied cold packs with ice after feedings to reduce swelling. It's ok to take panadol as well. You will see that once your milk comes in fully it will get better. Just make sure she latches properly. I hope this helps. Hugs going out to you and your LO.

Thanks ladies for your replies, but Meals & barbara19 do you not find that you get up more in the night to check on them because you are not sure if the noises are - standard, or that maybe they have been sick etc...? I just think that I'm up enough during the night now and if I were to put him in his own room - I would be up even more often as I cannot go back to sleep until I know that he is fine. Edited to add: congrats Barbara19 on your new addition :) edited by CheekyG on 14/03/2011 No, I just get up to feed her.this is my 2nd child so I know and am used to the sounds. Also her room is close to our bedroom.

That's why my LO's never sleep in the same room as me!!! I cannot get any sleep with them next to me with their snorting and snuffling, farting and grunting... they're noisy little people! It's perfectly normal... Perhaps time to move your DS out into his own room? Totally agree here. My DD is 8 days old and she was put in her room since day one and it's the best thing for me. I get my sleep and she gets hers :)

Tarcin - I did the Ferber method with my first DD, she was 7 mos. It took exactly 3 nights before she self soothed herself and slept through the night.I believe it was the best thing for both of us. I have intentions with doing it again with my 2nd DD maybe little bit earlier. Like LBJ mentioned, you have to have a routine and stick with it, do not change or alternate. It's all about consistency and routine and trust me it will work. Yes not all things work, but I have not heard of anyone that I know that tried the Ferber method and did not succeed. Good luck!
