I thought AED500 was a salary of the past. Shocked that there are maids out there who accept this wage & even more surprised that educated people would pay that little. I think you should increase her wage as everyone has suggested, take it as constructive feedback rather than getting angry about it.

Pollydxb my mum & l love China Times. Have only been to the one in Deira City Centre. Food is good but we alos do like PF Chang at MOE.

Juicy bags...the velvet ones cost AED1000 - AED1500 at Saks Fifth Avenue in Burjuman during their sale. I have not been recently so not sure what their rack prices are. I would say wait for the sale at Saks. It goes to 60% off & gets u a gr8 bargain.

Had the price of Gold or diamonds fallen, they would never have given a small refund/lowered the price. So why raise the price of goods which is not allowed after a deal has been closed.

Cushion chin up...celebs aren't real, their pics are mostly air brushed. Just join a gym and start doing the group classes, they are more fun and doable. Exercising increases your happy hormones so it will boast your mood 4 sure. Cyber hugs.

The Japenese restaurant Miako at the old Hyatt in Deira has yummy Sushi....slurp!!! I love sushi too. My kids dont so we nowadays end up eating sushi at Japengo.

Other places you could vsiist in India other than Goa are the Golden triangle Delhi - Agra-Jaipur which is great weather in January. Also the backwaters of Kerala would be great. We recently stayed at the Park Hyatt in south Goa - very beautiful property. Seychelles & Mauritius are options as well.

Hi Orchard, the ambience at the Iftar tent at Atlantis was lovely. Very well airconditioned and the service was great. Main course was v average so would not rave about the food. But for me anyway, the Iftar tents are more about the ambience. I liked it & had a very pleasant evening as I was in fabulous company too :-)

LG pls accept my condolences on your loss. I have been feeling a lot like u described in your post, as my son's classmate died on 1st April in a motorcycle crash. She was 17 yrs old. I have not been able to get over her death and keep trying to reach out to her mum who is in a lot of pain. My husband keeps telling me to snap out of it as such accidents happen, but I keep looking at her pics in my sons School Yearbooks and wonder why such a thing happened & wonder at life's logic....But reading all the positive things in the threads below makes me feel comforted too. Hope u feel better soon.

Sue 62 ...i CANT STOP LAUGHING.. Also I completely agree that we shld stay awy from these procedures as there is nothing natural about Colon Cleansing. The right thing to do wld be to eat a high fibre diet. But I guess each to there own. Good luck yassy...if it worked for u, then so be it.

We flew Dxb to New York both ways on the A380. Its sooo comfortable in business class as the seat is almost a bed. I watched 4 movies and before I knew it we were in NYC. Great aircraft, hope u enjoy yr flight.

I have loads of friends who live in Meadows and they love it there. Say its a very well developed community with schools, clinics, restaurants, petrol pump, grocery stores etc all within walking distance.

Rubberduck you need to call dnata. They are the largest and most reputable travel agents in the Middle East not just dubai. You can call 8008118 and they will advise you on cruises and travel insurance products.

I agree with Sanddydogg. We bought a v expensive Golden Retriever from Pet Zone and he bit almost everybody till we had to give him away. I then got a pet from one of our EW friends who was relocating and he is the most lovale creature ever.

I have been a member at FF in Media City for the apst 2 years & pay almost AED500 per month so am wondering ho come they are now charging AED360. They say FF in Media City is the Platinum Club & hence the most expensive. I use it as its close to where I live.

I just got back from the US & the shopping is fabulous. I too got Coach & Mark Jacobs for a fraction of what they cost here. But only the outlet malls - Commons & the Premiun Outlet malls in Orlando were cheap. Macys I thought was quite expensive for similar staff & brands. So I would say wait & buy in the US.
