Did brunch there last Friday, not that restaurant ,but still was fantastic. Only thing is it takes ages to get there. It really is a long way around the Palm? So either pre book a taxi for your return or someone is the designated driver.

Not all airlines carry pets, plus some have stipulations on breeds as well,so check all this first. Then try get the most direct flight, we flew our 2 from Oz but still took them 48 hrs for door step to door step and they had 2 stopovers due to airline availability . The pet transport people really do know the best way

Try the large optical store near Galleries at Dubai Mall. Directly opposite the Apple store. Otherwise buy Maui Jim sunnies there.they are never discounted but rated number 1 if outside or near water

Will have a look at their website. Someone said Eton has tutors as well not sure how they are. DS needs a bomb under him if u know what I mean. 1st he has to want to improve, which I try to tell him all the time, but unfortunately it's something that has to come from within him! Thanks for the input on Yogi Bear as well

How silly! 12 in a class...lol most swim schools have 4. Depends on the level. If the children are good then maybe 12 .How can someone keep there eye on 12 children at the same time? Private classes are around 150 to 200 dhs for 30min with 1 or 2 kids Group lessons are 65 per child per lesson edited by basil on 25/11/2011 edited by basil on 25/11/2011

What state are you from? we are from QLD and DS got his renewed by filling out all relative forms and sending in a photo. We did get it sent to my DS who then forwarded it here. You have 5 yrs to renew it but you will need a current licence to get a UAE one So whichever state you are from go on their website and download all the forms

You didn't say if boy or girl? Boys are definitely disadvantaged by being the youngest in a class and starting school too soon. I have 3 sons and my eldest was by far the youngest in his class and it is a struggle all his school years. Not only in the class room but sport as well. When he did finish school he was still 16 so made it very difficult for him . So! Don't start them early is my thinking

I know the hotels are very expensive for that time of year so am looking at an apartment. Anyone know of good web site to book thru or if anyone has contacts for rentals?

I've been watching it for a few weeks now..online! It gets more interesting as it' more about the cold war. Worth a watch and giggle especially when they do a weigh in before being allowed to fly, maybe some of our cabin crew should be made to do that now!

Found out today that the Madinat restaurants are all booked out. I rand Fairmont and Meridien both said they havent even decided on price or have opened up for bookings. Gives me hope still as we did Spectrum on one last year ,loved it. The Intercon at Festival City is another that does a fantastic one but then depends on which end of Dubai you live at.

They are in 1st block on right. Unfortunately when you drive onto the Palm you will miss it .So you pull off main road ,continue driving and go under road to do u turn.Don't get back onto main drag but continue and go under road as though you are going around in circles. But you now will be at block1 or whatever they call it. Parking is directly out front.
