We have been doing it for DS for the past 6 months and they have never asked to see the insurance papers, even though we have it. As u know its not that far past the border so I suppose u just risk not having an accident.

There are 2 in Sharjah.. The Victorian school or the Australian school, which is the Queensland system. Australian schools all have different systems depending which state u live in. Being a Queenslander I still would not send my child to 1 of those schools.Having lived in Singapore and here our schooling is *****!!! Sounds like u change countries a bit, maybe with DH work, so i I would look at an IB school. In the airport area there is the Universal American school at Al Badia (Festival City ). There is also JBS in Jumeirah and another American school just opening in Jumeirah 3 area.

Depends on your passport. Heard that Canadians have to have driving lessons even if they have a drivers license. Upstairs at union co op at Safa park very easy. Don't forget your letter either from DH or work to say they allow u to drive...LOL

Stayed 2 nights a few weeks ago with the Entertainer 2 for 1 offer. You can still use that till end of month. It was for our wedding anniversary. They had a beautiful cake waiting for us in the room and fresh fruit. The only downside is the restaurants, we had 2 for 1 with Timeout mag and just as well as not worth the price otherwise.

Never fly Garuda!!! Look at staying at Hard Rock Hotel as it has the best pool for kids, actually best in Bali. U can actually pay for the day as well. As well they have a kids club and lots of organised activities for children around the pool

It is.My DS is doing it at present. Just like uni at home where u can HEC fee it. Pay it off when you work in OZ and earn over $45000,they start taking it out of your wage. No start up fee just register edited by basil on 15/07/2011

Health insurance, well thats another issue! In OZ you can go to hospitals for free and get various things done, all depends on the urgency . Brother in law just had triple heart bypass at a well known hospital in Brisbane for heart ops for free as no insurance but needed it urgent. Nephew had shoulder re construction also for free, so sometimes u just dont need the insurance. In saying all this we had top cover all our lives there and hardly used it except for when I was pregnant. We could only keep it on hold for 2 yrs so thats gone now. Mind u because of DH salary govt made us have it!

very interesting comparison..Brisbane 40% more expensive than Dubai.. Australia is DEFINITELY a lifestyle choice. Remember that it is a long way from the UK and Europe so if u get homesick it takes over 24hrs to go back. Brits either love it or hate it! I think the weather is a huge factor to adjust to for most.

I too have a 15yr DS here and Aussie as well. Mpac sports does Basketball for teenagers is really all I have found. All camps only go to 13yr old plus the ocean is too hot to swim in compared to back home even in Summer. Other than that get an X box and do X box live he then can play against old mates back home!

Go to few plastic surgeons and ask their advice! It really depends on age, your body frame..etc. I went to Dr Ghanem from Dubai Cosmetic Surgery ,not sure if he is still there. I thought 1 size he guided me to another. Once again depends on your age how long it takes to recover. I too hated seeing these over the top fake boobs on women, but now I don't feel mine are and I feel fab being able to wear clothes I was never able to. Plus DH loves them!!! Oh yeah cost 20,000

Haven't heard any this DSF and live at Al Badia (Festival City). Don't bother tonight anyway as you wouldn't see them with the amount of dust in the air.
