What about Cyprus or beaches in Turkey. Lots of Brits go there but then you can get a package from UK. Of course there is the Maldives or Seychelles

good, just another middle class area behind Surfers. Little bit older ,more congested. Lots of schools and sporting activities. Robina and Varsity Lakes is called in middle now! Just look at facilities as once the LO get older they will walk or ride bikes to school.

Bad Lands!!!! Just say most are New Zealanders of native origins. Income is below average so hence a lot of crime. Highland Park is another area that even though it is Nerang they changed their name but wrong side of H'way What area did you see the property?

Ok after a nights sleep, here is more info Catholic schools that are pre school to grade 12...Aquinas at Ashmore,in behind Surfers Paradise Don't forget Marymount at Burleigh Emmanuel at Carrara which is on road between Nerang and Broadbeach. There are few that just go to grade 7...primary school. Most people spend a lot of time at the beach so you don't want to be more than 15 min drive away or you won't go. Broadbeach waters is great or Clear Is waters (expensive). Benowa, not bad Or if you like flat water the Nth end is the Broadwater ,Runaway Bay,,Biggera Waters

Ok schools is where you should start. Catholic schools, private. Marymount at Burleigh Waters is one of the largest on the coast. If you dont have a big budget, then why do you want private schools when just as good at some state ones? Stay away from anything that is on the wrong side on the M1...Nerang a big NO. Must be on the beach side of the highway. Robina very popular as is Varsity lakes. Yes after a few years the acreage will wear thin. Broadbeach waters or anything closer to Sufers is always more expensive. I have never been a northern end type of person, meaning anything south of Broadbeach or Pacific Fair Shopping centre is great. Gold Coast is very much like Dubai in that you love one end better than the other. Southport is the Marina and Coolangatta is the airport end. Dont go near Palm Beach...lovely area but too many bad teenagers. Iam sure I will think of more tonight so will continue in the morning

ADCB I think is probably best. Yes you need 3,000 to open it but then dont need to keep a min balance. No fees ! Seems to be lots of ATM for them around as well. I tried ADIB but too many fees. DH has HSBC ,havent really had too many probs with them just not many ATM. ENBD too many fees

I agree with Green-ish. Unless you work from home and no kids, otherwise you will spend more time in the car than enjoying Hope Is. DH commuted for 7 yrs and traffic just got worse. If there is an accident on the M1 they close it for hrs and can be stuck.

They are the best shoes for your feet. Physios always recommend them. Maybe get your biggest foot size then put an inner sole in the other. Make sure you buy them at a store where someone fits the most appropriate shoe for you. Don't buy just because of the look

There are 10 Emirates A 380 grounded at the moment plus every other one needs checking before they can fly. So maybe try for an airline that wont fly them!

DS at DIS but in high school. A lot of EK pilot's children there and mainly British teachers .Head of school is British. It would be a headache to drive to Greenfield every morning on the 311. The road in and out is a nightmare. DS class is made up of a variety of Nationalities and this is great. He has been accustomed to having lots of different friends which I encourage.

No Tax. Better than DH losing 1/2 to the govt. Love listening to people whinge about how hot it is! Live in Nth Qld and you will know what hot is and humidity. Closer to rest of world to travel without it taking over 24hrs to get anywhere .
