Long, you're at the hardest point right now. In the past 13 years, I've fallen off the wagon I would say 3 major times. Usually due to a surgery or injury, and then the laziness or limitations that followed these events kept me out of the gym and drove me into a major slump. What I've found is the battle is more about just showing up! Get to the gym. Wake up the next day, don't think, just repeat. If at all possible, doing this first thing in the morning assures you can't miss because there won't be time to talk yourself out of it. I'm fully subscribed to the changes nutrition makes, but for some people, starting with exercise is better, here's why. If you can get into the first week of exercise, then the next week...common sense kicks in. Why would you want to do all that work and not eat properly, because you're throwing away your hard work. You bein to eat for function, not comfort. You're feeding the machine, essentially. Think of it like its your job. Go do the work. You won't always feel like it, but imagine if you had a terminal illness or serious condition that prohibited you from doing physical activity. Right now you can, you're just tired. Find a morning class at a gym, or an evening class that you can go to straight from work. Choose a place that has a positive atmosphere of people you can look up to. If they can all do it, so can you! iPod, big deal for me. Some days I wake up less than energetic. I get dressed, hop in the lift, still thinking....are you serious?? Not feeling this! But then Pitbull, three six mafia, or the Rocky soundtrack comes on, and it lifts my mood. I tell myself I can do it. Some days those are my best sessions! Don't wait for a feeling to come over you, or a day of enlightenment or empowerment. It will never, ever come. X

Hi mumcurious :) first, thanks for your kind words :) So you've been into fitness for a long time then? 10k is great! That's a milestone! Based on your post, several things come to mind. I guess the most important thing I would address, is what exactly is the desired result you aren't getting? Cardio will make you sweat, keep your endorphins flowing (if you're not going too high intensity) and burn calories, but I assume you are weight training because you want to build muscle and reshape your body? Sometimes I hardly sweat when I train, other times I pour. Depends on hydration levels and intensity, but I can't recall a leg day where I wasn't drenched. I would guess you're not lifting heavily enough, or your form is wrong if you're not feeling the "good burn" or seeing any improvements in the mirror. I split my days up to where I train 4-5 days a week with weights. Not everyone has at kind of time. If you do, i think it's e way to go if you are trying to really reshape your body. I work with a guy who has three sessions a week, but we alternate so that we hit different parts (back and biceps, for example). Final thoughts would be make sure you are eating enough of the right foods, most people aren't taking in enough clean calories necessary to build muscle. Nearly impossible to follow a fat loss diet plan which is negative calorie, and a muscl gain plan which is caloric excess. You may even want to relax on the cardio days where you do bike or elliptical and add some more weight training splits. You won't bulk up huge, I promise lol X

Sephora are very aggressive with loss prevention. That is one of the biggest reasons they follow you around and offer you a basket as soon as you start browsing. Also they try to push IPT to 2 or 3, thus all the suggested add ons. Even I get a little aggravated because I am ignored when I try to tell the vendor reps I've used the product they are selling and don't like it, or something of that nature. In general, promo girls, vendor reps---they simply do not listen to what customers are telling them, they just read their stupid script, and don't assess potential customers well.

Isn't there a school that does them for a fraction of full price? I was at a wellness event Saturday and can't remember which it was, but I do know its a dental school. Edited to clarify, I mean a dental office had a booth at this event, and they have 3 locations, and a school somewhere. Since I don't need braces and have a regular dentist already, I kind of checked out during this lady's shpiel...could have been Dr. Nicholas clinic come to think of it. <em>edited by Beebers on 04/03/2013</em>

I'm also looking for a new one. I have very fair skin with a yellow undertone (not pink, like most people) and dry skin. Never found one pale enough in a drugstore except the one I have now, which is GOSH (from superdrug) Have you tried Shiseido? It's not a drugstore foundation but the ochre range color tones go pretty light, and their cream foundation is lovely.

Kept your knickers on for a Brazilian? I would think you'd be holding them to the side almost the entire time! Not trying to be funny, just never heard of that. Heck, my salon back home had a male waxologist. Leave all modesty at the door indeed. Now, having laser hair removal ?? That felt like I was abducted by aliens, according to the witness testimonies. I was like....seriously?.? Too bad after all that drama it didn't fully work

Corinnad, aside from the Emla cream which many people say is very good-- did you know you are not supposed to go for a wax within a 10 day window prior to or after your period? (I've heard 7-10 days, but I try to follow the 10 day, myself). It's extra painful. Sometimes you can't help it, but I'm here to tell you after making the mistake once, if I can help it, I never will again!! Kates, that's funny...I think they are much more...er, what's the word...delicate over here? Certainly was a search finding a good one! Not a fun one, either!

If you can, make your purchase at sephora. If it doesn't work out, you can exchange it whereas with drugstore brands, you are stuck with the product x Personally I love YSL for coverage and natural looking skin tones. cargo used to make a great oil free but I always found their shades yellow based, and doesn't work for me X

The food industry is a trillion dollar industry. Sorry, they do not care about healthiness, safety, or the consumer other than the money they spend on consumption. With the sickness industry also being another trillion dollar industry (pharm companies) it's almost like it is a nefarious partnership aimed at keeping people complacent and sick from the food they eat, turning to meds that treat symptoms not cause. Unless you are raising your own livestock, yeah...not much guarantees. Luckily we can opt for some of the better choices out there and educate ourselves in this day and age. That being said I love to eat something naughty every now and then, don't have delusions that it's a healthy component to my nutritional plan, though. And don't wonder too deeply about what's really in what I'm eating, that ruins the experience lol

Beebers... thats my dream juicer... the masticating ones are really healthy. One day, one day, when the current one expires shall have it.... worth every penny for sure. BTW where did you buy yours from? Hi Eco :) mine is in storage in the US :'( it was really handy living next to a smoothie shop, too, because wheatgrass trays were very accessible. I've seen a good lot of them at Organic Foods in the Greens. I'm delaying buying one, because I already have one, but obviously not doing me any good in a storage unit! Made fabulous almond butter with that, too. I think there is even an attachment to make pastas, too, which is great. The cleanup was a cinch, too.

Hands down, Omega. It will run you about 2200 dhs. The difference is that they are masticating juicers and you will retain all of the enzymes from fruits and veggies, even wheatgrass due to the low speed and th low heat output. Google them, they are fabulous

Too bad New Orleans really isn't in route. I lived all over Texas, spread over more than a decade, and I'll say this. Austin, awesome. Lake travis is gorgeous. bass fishing in the US doesnt get much better than lake fork but july is a little too hot for that. Houston is okay. New Braunfels is really neat! It's about an hour outside of Austin. Quaint town and you can do the Schlitterbaun which is a water park, as well as float the river, excellent in July. San Antonio is one city I never made it to, but neat for history and has a beautiful river walk. If you finish 3 hours north in Dallas, you can stay at the W hotel downtown, the Joule, or the Zaza which is a cool boutique hotel. I guess what I'm trying to say is there is more to Texas than Houston or Dallas. You can go to fort worth and catch a rodeo every friday night in the cowtown district. buy some nice boots, too :) Also lived in Abilene and spent time in Lubbock and west Texas is not really a place for tourists. Bunch of tumbleweed and dust! If you are looking for some nice, scenic driving outside of NYC, Rhode Island is gorgeous, as is Vermont, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. Martha's Vineyard and the hamptons are quite popular in July. Just not sure what would float your boat in between NYC and Dallas/Ft. Worth. A little homesick now too! DH just got back from big D and I was green with envy! X

Love is the universal language...but a whallop every man understands. I'm not promoting violence, but this cultural tip-toeing and conjecture is ridiculous. If a man was raised to believe for whatever reason he can molest a woman, I'm happy to welcome them to the 21st century with a kick, smack, or whatever it takes. When more women feel this way, the message will spread. X

I had loss something horrible, then it got better, and now and again when I comb my conditioner through, it's like ?!? The bottles water has helped, as has using a shampoo bar I bought from lush which is sulfate free. Believe they have one for dandruff, too, and I like how lush's website (USA) has a ton of user reviews on each product. Plus they are about 60 dhs a bar, last forever, which balances that stupid Kerastase conditioner I spring for each month! Lots of good advice here! My hair is long and I find the more I brush it at night, in an effort to keep it tangle free, this, too helps.

Hugs to OP! Sorry this happened to you! A take out delivery guy did that to me once as I was grabbing the order from him at my door. Cheeky d-bag smiled really big when he did it, too. I handed him th money, kicked him in the shin, and slammed th door. Next time we went to the restaurant, DH asked why the "friendly" guy was sulking and wouldn't greet us. Report it! I wouldn't recommend my way plus it's too late :(

When someone loses that much weight, yes, skin is an issue. It takes a while for skin to shrink and depending on age, sometimes it never fully catches up. The reason she looks like that could be a result of several things, probably a combination. * not eating the foods that help you build muscle, or keep muscle while you lose fat. Counting calories as opposed to paying attention to macronutrients could be a culprit * not lifting heavy enough weights, or none at all * relying on cardio, namely high intensity cardio as a sole means of exercise which can just make you a smaller version of your fat self. It also causes the body to release a lot of cortisol which is deadly to muscle * losing weight too fast This is why th number on the scale should serve as only one barometer of progress, but not totally relied upon. I'm not trying to belittle this woman's accomplishments because that's a huge loss she has achieved. But if you are terrified to be fat again, I don't know that this means you are making the right nutritional choices or have truly adopted the healthy and fitness centered lifestyle. We have all seen the easily lost, easily regained scenario in the celeb world. I love Jennifer Nicole lees physique. Not everyone wants that, though, but perfect example of not only losing weight but reshaping the body. X

Just saw a woman walking in a parking lot and got brushed, almost clipped as she was stepping on to it he sidewalk. She turned around in disbelief and the driver shrugged as if to say " what? You're fine..." Told DH get us out of here, saw it and wanted to give a piece of my mind to the driver. So sick of seeing such disregard for human life and zero common sense. Also tired of people flashing brights at ME when the car in front of me is 3 seconds too late to take off from the green light. I'll drive so much better now that I've been blinded by the headlights on the Patrol you can't even park.

Beebers, you [i'>can [/i'>get them to do just your brow, but it is unlikely to be 2 simple injections. To numb the right muscles I think they would have to inject a minimum of 4-6 (just speaking from experience). I only get my frown lines done and I only started when my poor little child asked me whether I was angry at them (I wasn't!). Awww! It is good to know I can possibly just get one area done. I had run it by my DH a couple weeks ago, and his response was "honestly cant see where you need it...doesn't your friend pay like 3000 dhs for that?" (Which she does indeed) Brought it up again yesterday, and he said "hmmm maybe you should check into it. I mean, its Just that one area, honey, you know..." Lol!!! it's just getting worse as I'm losing a lot of fat from my face. Like suze I don't want to look p1ssed off unless I actually am!!

Dragging this thread up for a possibly silly question of mine. I've always been interested in Botox but never so much as I am now. Literally I've had a fine line between my brows become a crevasse in the last 2 months. I supplement with omegas, water intake over the top, take hyaluronic acid as well as use topically..but there's no stopping this train. When I run long distances or train vigorously, I just scowl. I can't help it. Snce i wont stop doing those...im asking here. I have read the quotes here, but do any of you just get a couple of shots between your brows? Or do they "recommend" you get eyes and forehead, the whole shebang? Just don't think I need all that and wondered if it was less.

Yep, pregnant. I normally exercise throughout but had an accident in early pregnancy this time and have had to do absolutely nothing, I've spent so much time lying down. You are right though, I'm very very grateful. Great effort on 4kgs in 2 weeks. Bet your husband got a surprise when he got back! Oh, yeah, you can't be too careful then !! It is so hard to be laid up when you are an active person though. I go insane if I'm down for a few days, you must be really serene or strong minded!! The other day I said to DH "so....Valentines Day....um, I think you've done enough this week ??" He smiled and said he knows how bad he mistreats me, so how can he ever make it up?? Some chocolate?? Really this week has been better than any Christmas. DH still wanted to go to a nice steakhouse or Maya, but I'd rather skip the large bill and save it up for a week we r both really stressed and need to twist off. Im off to go find a cheesy card, then planning our usual: gym, come home and cook, watch Deadwood. Really spicy :)

I have mixed opinions. Liked my stylist there a lot, great cuts, good color, but was told that there were certain colors I just couldn't do because my hair would not lighten enough, or the water here is so bad, it wouldn't stay. To say, as a natural level 6, I won't lift to level 9 highlights never sat with me, especially because I've had them on and off for 2 decades. The shampoo girls always filled my ears with water. That ruined any sense of relaxing head massage I received. I decided to seek a new stylist when I called to book the last appointment. The receptionist asked if it was for color, cut, highlight, etc. I said I wanted color but it would probably entail both; from previous experience I'll need a 3 hour time slot. The question was repeated to me. I said I have photos of what I want, but only my stylist will know which processes that will take; Can I book a consult, to figure it out, or simply speak to her? The question with my 3 options was repeated again, so I apologized and said never mind. Went somewhere else based on another recommendation here and was so, so pleased. Best cut ever, best color, closest to my natural with highlights and in my 7th week with no fade, and hardly any roots because the color match was so accurate! Maybe I am just really hard to match, or it takes someone who specializes in my texture of hair. Don't really have anything bad to say about Hairworks, but after a phenomenal experience, I've found my dream stylist :)

Glad you've found some relief Chocobella sheesh! And people worry about tofu, while going about eating chicken. The brand name escapes me, but I get mine from A little grocer in JBR, not labeled organic, but the breasts are really small, making me *think* they are low on estrogen. I've read a few times that chickens in general are the most abused, overcrowded and antibiotic filled meat there is. Just another reason to go for free range or organic. X

Since living here, I have used clarins, La Mer, Estée Lauder, and even organic raw Shea butter on my face. I went back to Kinerase a week ago when DH brought it back from the US, and in this short time years have disappeared from my face. It's unreal. I do cleanse with bottled water, and the cleanser I use is Purity by Philosophy which I love and can be bought here. The facial masks from Lush are also incredible. I highly recommend The Sacred Truth and Avisha. Sacred Truth is brightening and exfoliating with tons of enzymes and Avisha is line smoothing. But for treatments and moisturizers, nothing beats Kinerase for me, wont cheat on it again lol
