No they just say that. They're owned by Deckers. TBH I only quoted Uggs because people will have heard of them. I actually don't own any I used to buy Simple Eco Sneaks before they went out of business, who were also owned by Deckers, hence the same sizing. The North Face also uses another sizing conversion a US 9.5 is a UK 7.5 as is Timberland. I just ask for a US 9.5 now when buying a US brand. edited by RuthM on 12/12/2012 Oh, I see. I never got into the trendy aspect of them, but found myself in an icy climate once, and the only "Brrrr!" worthy boots in my sasquatch size were UGGs. Never regretted it, I love them. Agree with Sakhifa here--how could one possibly pick a demographic like Dubai and base their stock on popular sizes--must be all over the map! How about focusing instead on styles or type of shoes based on climate as well as what's in fashion this season. Once the shoes start selling, you can base your re-orders on which size is selling the most ???

I suggest the small little shop in Mall of Emirates opposite the Lebanese Hairdresser (2nd or 3rd row in the vicinity of Carrefour). Not sure what its called but they do keys, shoes, watch repairs, etc. A regular watch shop most likely won't help... PS: I think almost all big malls have such a shop somewhere.... Right, that's minutes. They repaired a watch band for me, and resized a chain link one, too. I would definitely give them a try, OP

Thanks ladies. Ya, a bit nervous to order online as it is controlled but I may have a chat with my doctor as he issued the prescription and see what he says. My issue is inability to convert T4 to T3 so the need. The pharmacist was asking about the actual pharmacy name (rather than brand name) and no where had it. Shocking! Maybe your doctor can help you. I wouldn't go thru the website below, though, looks like they sell "athletic enhancement" and botox! wha?? I can't believe this isn't really sold in this part of the world, because many thyroid issues have to do with conversion. A lot of extra t4 doesn't help that, makes things worse! Good luck and hope you get it sorted. I was able to rehab my thyroid issues naturally, but I wouldn't wish those 10 months on anyone!!!

xmasbaby, this is so hard to find here! I was on cytomel when I moved here in 2010, but could not get it ANYwhere. A doctor switched me to levothyronine sodium, which, hello--completely different! In this part of the world, they have tiromel which is the same as cytomel, and thyroxin which I THINK is the same as t3. You may try asking for those? I don't think purchasing prescription drugs from a website is a good idea, but perhaps if your doctor worked with you on that? It's not like it's codeine, but I believe it is controlled.

That was a really insightful post, Amy. I never want to be dependent on help--but if it is financially possible and the right help can be found--pfft to what anyone has to say or thinks about it. Simples/DR were right. Plenty of children turn out to be gems with questionable, even criminal parents, and the opposite can be true with wonderful parents. Nothing is guaranteed, in that regard!

When I started a new job, on my first day I had to ask the office boy to put some hand wash and towels in the ladies because it was empty! He was surprised at my request and said he hadn't put any in there for over a year! There were 20 women that used that ladies!! I was totally disgusted. ugh, I know! Same here at my last office job. I wondered, what was everyone doing until then?

I love the supplements from Phyto, called Phytophenares. They are usually found next to Phyto hair care products at most chemists. Costs 170 dhs and it is a 2 month supply. You can read about the ingredients and check some reviews, here: http://www.sephora.com/phytophanere-dietary-supplement-hair-nails-P2884#BVRRWidgetID

There is no magic cure for weight loss. Eat less.....much less, no sugar (ever again) no carbs after 1pm, go for a walk every day, no ready made food, lots of water. Retrain your brain to not want food. Its really easy once you stop making excuses. Dinks, I used to think that was the only way, too, and that is how I kept my weight at bay for years. This year I decided to stop the militant restrictions, added about 500 calories a day to my intake, added more carbs, even ones like bread and bananas, and I've never been in better shape. I think super restrictive eating scares people away, and drives more to look for a magic cure! Weight lost that way is also gained back quite quickly. ETA: be careful which drops you get--most of them are complete bunk. The kind Oopsiedaisy is talking about might be difficult to buy in Dubai edited by Beebers on 11/12/2012

Did she also cut her calories down to like, 500-700 per day? Those who inject HCG cut them down quite low. I am sure you are willing to try anything, and I understand how difficult it is to lose weight...but a hormone pregnant women produce, or cutting calories so low? Maybe some other women can come on here who have one it. Since I haven't I can't say anything other than i already have. If dieting and exercise really didn't work for you after you gave it hard effort, maybe get your hormones and thyroid levels checked, and if you are lacking, a doctor can prescribe something that truly does work, instead of some drops that "might."

TB, it's called Al Khaima, correct? I've been there twice, and it's lovely aaaand it's licensed. I didn't feel like the food was expensive, but hops, for example, is around 40-45 dhs a piece. Depending on the size of your party, or their amibitions, that could get steep. If you look at timeoutdubai.com, you can also do a check for venues ranked high in terms of 'best for outdoor" or "shisha" and then check the pricing and reviews, if that helps

I only had one client who enforced this and advised that they would take the employee and her new employee to court ( FZ based company) Although as the OP's have advised, it is difficult and costly to enforce as an employer has to prove that they have lost money as a result of this. Difficult and costly, exactly. I'm sure it's not the same here, but back home--it was rarely pursued unless someone is at the executive level.

I have been an acne sufferer for over 20 years. I don't believe that any natural supplements or skin care regimens will help you. Let me ask you this. Have you taken Accutane? I agree---natural supplements were completely unhelpful! At least the ones which are normally recommended for acne. I suffered SO badly for 2 years around when I turned 30. I figured the best thing I could do, since I could not stop the cysts from coming up, was to put a good amount of oil (Ylang Ylang from Decleor was lovely for this, Clarins, too) on my skin at night, so that at least my skin wouldn't scar. It helped the pimples/ cysts break through the surface with more ease, and taking Omegas really helped, too. Since the OP asked for recommendations for a good Dermo, I went to Dr. El Hoshy in Jumeirah for a different skin issue, but he is not here in Dubai a lot, so maybe its better to see someone who is. I have never seen a facialist so can't help with that. One more thing, it turned out my thyroid needed some boosting. As soon as I started taking thyroid meds, my skin cleared up! I wish I wouldn't have taken a cycle of Accutane, because it did not help my cysts, but did give me my one wrinkle on my forehead. I don't know if a Dermo would test for thyroid levels, but along with the usual suspects like estrogen overload, it is worth checking the thyroid.

I bet you're relieved! Something like that happened the day after we went to Wagamama for dinner last month. After some Udon and several Tigers--woke up the next day, wondering, whose feet are these?? Could barely walk on them! I usually keep some dandelion root around the house in case we splurge like that. Since you don't have a medical condition, no harm in using herbals time to time :)

Ladies, any issues with transporting gold bars at airports, either dubai or international? Is there any maximum limits? It depends where you are going. I don't think you will have an issue leaving DXB but countries will vary on how much gold they allow you to take in. Unless it's just a whole lot, I don't think you will have issues. Definitely keep your sales receipt handy and be ready to present it. This is one of the reasons I like the Apmex site; I just purchase, and send straight to the recipient.

Where and what type of gold and silver bars do you buy? This is a site we commonly use. Here is the page showing some examples of your basic stamped bars. http://www.apmex.com/Category/1150/Gold_Bars__Gold_RoundsAll_Sizes__Manufacturers.aspx Bars like this are about $12 per over spot price, per gram. They also have commemorative coins, and special mints, but the spot price is closer to $40-$50 over spot price due to the fact that they are actual sovereign coins that can be spent, or collector's items. These are more like an investment, because unlike fiat currency--it's actually real money! edited by Beebers on 07/12/2012

Imagine the uproar if someone started a page about a fat person out and about. It would be bullying, but somehow this is okay. Note: I am against bullying of all kinds, and facebook has really turned into a platform for people to be more ruthless about this, with their idiotic nature for all to see.

Yes true - it is good that everyone thinks he is awesome - but I guess without his permission it's not really right.... When I looked at the page last night and read some of the posts, it is clear the creator of the page is trying to be funny at this guy's expense, and other posters as well. One woman posted that she spoke to him, and asked him if he knew he had a page about him on FB! His response was "Oh my goodness, the people are crazy!" So at least he knows.
