I got my first one and renewed at the airport it only took 10 mins both times. Just give yourself a little extra time and it should be fine! edited by mannikat on 11/05/2015 Unfortunately I don't think the Egate place is open at 'stupid o'clock' in the morning :( NO it's not, once I waited an hour after they were supposed to open, no one came, so I gave up ...

If your passport has a little circle symbol on the front, you can scan it through the smart gate But that's only at arrivals, there are no smart gate at departures...

Hi, ladies, have anyone done lip augmentation in Dubai? I tried several places and several doctors but i couldn't get good results. Can you please recommend a doctor ? I have mine with Dr Allen Rezai, he uses juvederm smile to contour my lips and gives them a really nice shape, looks very natural. and I only have one syringe every 6-8 months. when I first had it, I went back for a top-up 3 months after but now one syringe lasts up to 8 months.

I would like to know too if anyone has tried him for botox/fillers. I've been to Dr Rezai for lip fillers (juvederm ultra smile) and botox for excessive sweating. Wouldn't use anyone else :)

You should certainly get testing done to cancel out anything or see what may be the issue. IF it is inconclusive you should add supplements, make sure you are exposed to the sun (without sunblock and hat) for about 20-30 minutes a day, and look into switching hait treatments. For me Selsum Blue (the gentle one for colored treated hair) helped immensely. When the Dr told me this I was skeptical because i thought it was only for dandruff. I noticed a huge difference after time but I feel it ruined my highlights a bit so I only use it about 2 weeks before coloring. I also use bottled water as a final quick rinse. and the typical trying not to wash hair often or use electrical appliances. The Dr had me use Regain (for men as it is stronger) as well. I do have regrowth since last year but it is growing in more kinky I read another post about thyroid issues, and we have this in my family, last time I checked was couple of years ago, but maybe I should have it checked again! hairless was actually one of the symptoms my sister had then she found out she had under active thyroids. I'll start with the blood world and take it from there. thanks for your advice.

As a person who has never had botox, that price is much cheaper than I imagined botox to be. And, how often would one have to get full face? And, if I get it done, does it have a spring back and become even saggier effect? Or can you stop and there are no adverse effects? Thank you for any advice! I suffer from excessive sweating so I have botox injections in my underarms 3 times a year, it's very effective on me, I don't think I would survive living here without it. When I first moved here I was reluctant to have it done locally, so I reduced it to once a year and only had it done back home. but my sweating became unbearable and had to find a local doctor here to have it regularly cause it takes about 3-4 months for the nerves to become active again. I actually read reviews on here and went to Dr A Rezai. I've been using him since and am very happy. I asked to have botox on my face and he refused, he said I don't have the indication for it. apparently if one has botox in areas with no indication, with time the muscles will droop and look heavy. it was a breath of fresh air, hearing him saying no I don't need it. I've never experienced this before, not even back in UK. Thank you for this. I see my face aging and because I lost a lot of weight, I feel like my skin is loose, and genetics are not great in the forehead region. I'd like to start, but I don't know where to begin and was worried to begin something that I was binding myself to for life without which my age would kick in with a vengeance! The non-surgical,non-invasive options seemed a bit hit and miss, and something I should have begun on my 18th birthday if I wanted to reap the benefits. I think I will have a consultation and see what the Dr says. I've got a million more things to worry about rather than my face, but the more I worry about those, the more I need to worry about my face! lol If anyone knows of a Dr who would come to the home to do it, please let me know! I do not mind to pay extra. Dr AR will tell you as it is and wouldn't do unnecessary procedures, even if you asked him to. not sure about home visit though, but wouldn't hurt to ask.

@BellaBella, can you tell me more about the botox for excessive sweating? Does it stop the sweating entirely or does it just reduce it? No it doesn't stop it completely, it reduces mine with 80%, and no bad odour what so ever, even in Dubai's heat. I used to sweat badly, even during winter in UK, I alway carried an extra top to change into at work. now I sweat normal. but I have to repeat the botox every 4 months with no gap. For me it's my back, I also have extra clothing with me to change into. I am planning to have my thyroid checked though to see if that might be a cause. If not, I might have to consider going down the botox route, though it kind of sounds scary, and it seems you need to keep doing the treatment.. Thanks for the info:) Checking your thyroid is a good start, my sister had under active thyroids and was left with so many different symptoms, like mood swings, depression, hairloss on her head but the hair on her body thickened, not sure about excessive sweating, but that may be a symptom too. unfortunately using botox for sweating is not a one-off treatment, for results it has to be repeated every few months, and for back I think it'll work out expensive. hope you find the cause and treat it.

are you losing your hair from the root or is it breaking? if it is the root and its a vast amount I suggest getting bloodwork done. Bloodwork can determine if it is hormonal or a deficiency. I had the same issues last year and discovered I had a severe iron defieciency. I started taking supplements as well as omega 3/6. biotin, silicia. For me the filters did not show any improvement. its from the roots. did you notice any other symptoms like dents in your nails? I've seen this on both my thumb nails and few other fingernails. will have the tests done before I lose ALL my hair.

I'm sure this has been asked and discussed before, but just too lazy to search... What is the best birth control pills you used with less side effect (gaining weight, moodiness....) ? I was on marvelon for more than 10 years, no issues, but had to recently change to Yasmin, only because my doctor said it would help with facial hair reduction. I suffer from underactive thyroids and felt that the hair on my face was becoming slighly thicker, so she put me on these about 4 months ago and I can already notice th ehair returning to normal. I'm sure if you speak with your doctor, she will be able to advise you which pill is best for you, based on your family and medical history etc. But I haven't experienced any weight gain from either of these pills.

Has anyone tried this new Soprano allegedly painfree hair removal? It was featured on 'The Doctors' advice programme on tv and sounds almost too good to be true eg suitable for all skin types and pain free. I have searched for information on hair removal on this site, but they mainly refer to the older versions which can cause some discomfort / pain and are best for certain types of skin, etc. I just wondered if any of you had any direct experience of this newer type of laser hair removal in Dubai and if so, what were you pleased, which clinic did you go to, any pain, side effects, etc. Hey, I'm not familiar with soprano but I've had laser on my bikini and face. the machine the the rapsit used was Duetto MT, it was a combination of Nd:Yag and Alexandrite laser. she used the Alexandrite on my face and the other one on my bikini area as it was darker. I've had great results. and as for pain, yes in some areas, specially the bony areas, I did feel instant pain but on the whole not very painfull, specially when she spend few seconds cooling the area with the adjustable cool air coming out of the handpiece, before zapping, and she kept the cool air on during the entire treatment. I had 8 Bikini and 10 face sessions in total. last session was 6 months ago and still no need for maintenance session. BTW, I had this in UK. I found the following link regaring soprano laser, you may find helpful. http://www.realself.com/question/soprano-laser-hair-removal-treatment-effective Good luck!

As an aside...don't go when you're having your period. Owwwww. Wish someone had told me that (although I am very line free this morning!) Oh nooooooo, you'll be more Susceptible to pain, I learned my lesson when having laser hair removal, OUCH! There was a lady waiting covered in EMLA cream when i went last week The nurse came out and said do you want some and not thinking i said " it doesnt work so no thank you" the woman covered in EMLA went green oops EMLA doesn't work on me either, it seems to just numb my skin and I still feel the shooting pains in my underarms when getting the injections. it's all worth it though, I used to sweat alot, even during winter.

It def sweat Sakifa, to be honest if anything i am underweight and i drink an obscene about of water as that is meant to help but still makes no difference. I think try botox may be the best call. I have Botox in my under arms 2 to 3 times a year and it definitely works for me. I haven't had any since I moved here, I'm still searching for a good surgeon. I find it very painful so I'm looking for someone who takes his/her time and is patient. any suggestions anyone?

I'm wanting to bring back a magimix food processor, in its box, will check in as my main luggage as wont have much else but want to check what they do and make sure it doesnt get damaged. I called Etihad and they said they'll wrap it at the airport to bring in but I never trust what they say at the call centre!! Anyone done it? Emirates are good with handling fragile items. I brought 2 table lamps made of mirrors from UK and happy to say they were both intact. I 've also brought a Nespresso machine, which is also fully functioning ;)
