Here is an idea, speak to her face to face, ask the owner of the agency to be there, tell her if she admits to stealing you wont file a case and the owener of the agency can ban and send her home, if again she says she didnt steal it then I would be calling the police. Harsh but if she is so brazen to steal like that then she needs to be taught a lesson.

Can i play the devils advocate here : what hard proof do you have that she stole the money ? The reason I am asking is tha the police "may" ask, i woudl hate for you to go through a huge scene only for them to drop the charges. For what it is worth i think you need to report this to the police, would you take it so lightly if a shop assistant gave you less 500aed in your change ? hard thing for you to do but once a theif always a thief ......................

I am going to go against everyone on this thread so please dont shoot me :) I found out the *** of both of my children prior to the birth, I wanted to know so that we could decide on a name ( mixed marriage) also wanted to paint the nursery and buy everything, I suppose it was the control freak in me, having said all of that if you have waited this long, what is 60 or so more days :) good luck xxx

So am I better off canceling her visa tomorrow, saying she just didn't work out and sending her home instead of taking her back and having to hand over her passport and deal with getting her marriage certificate attested etc and going thru that hassle If I can't let her stay why would I put everyone through the later? As sad as it seems I agree :(

They will not arrest her but they will ask for an attested marriage certificate and you may have to submit a guarentee passport on her behalf. They will not issue a new maid visa if she is pregnant I am afraid.

the other option that you have is that you can shout at them "what do you want" they will soon leave you alone, if they persist then I would suggest that you note the registration and then go to the police and make sure that you do, once a report is made they do follow up on it. You may even find an increased police presence in the area.

Loads of really nice and cheap villas in Ajman close to Emirates Road also, plus you are close to the schools in Sharjah then.

Yes we always use tomatoes - adds more flavour, the other thing that you can so is now in C4 they have the kabsa mix that you add to the rice if I am in a hurry I used this with diced tomatoes to add extra flavour.

Here is the method i use for machboos 3 cups rice 2 lbs (950gms) lamb leg and shoulder 1/2 cup corn oil 10 curry leaves 1 teaspoon turmeric 2 teaspoons bezar 3 large onions 3 large tomatoes 2 tablespoons tomato paste 2 stock cubes 2 cloves garlic (crushed) 3 pieces cinnamon bark 3 whole dried loomi 2 tablespoons cleaned dried loomi pinch cloves salt to taste Wash and soak the rice for two hours. Clean the meat and cut into 2" (5cm) pieces. Boil until all froth has formed on top of the pan. Remove meat and discard water. Meanwhile, slice onions and chop tomatoes. Fry onion in the same pot in a little oil until brown, then add garlic, meat and all spices. Turn gently and keep frying for two to three minutes. Add remaining ingredients and add two cups water. Taste for salt at this stage and adjust seasonings if needed. Let the stew reach a good boiling stage and gently lift the rice with a spatula and add to the stew. Reduce heat to medium and leave to simmer for seven minutes with the lid on. Remove lid, stir once, gently and reduce heat to lowest setting. Cover pan tightly with a damp cloth under the lid and don't open again. Let it steam gently for 20 minutes, then turn off heat. Serve hot.

If you are talking about the wildlife centre it is on the Airport road - continue after the airport for 2 junctions and you will see the wildlife centre on your left, you exit to the right and take the overpass. Also on the airport road is the discovery centre, great for little ones to play and really cheap, just remember to take your own food and drink.

the first step is to go to the nearest police station and file a case of forgery and harrasement. They will call the person to come and bring the document it will then be taken to the forensics lab to be tested. Then the case will be passed to the public prosecutor for a court date, it is only then that I would recommend a lawyer

OMG !!!!!!!!!! some seriously nasty and bitter women out there today and its not even Thursday !! Moving right along, I think yes opposites do attract - I am the COMPLETE opposite of my husband, mentally, emotionally, culturally and ethicly. There is a clear common ground and i think of all the people on here that I know i would say that both myself and Amyaus would tell you that whilst difrferences are hard to deal with if there is a spark, a friendship a connection it will work IF you want it to work, I would say give it a go, try it, what have you got to loose. Please let us know how you get on xx

Over the years why have Indian maids become such a rarity? There was a ban on employing them for a while the same as there is now with indonesian - it normally comes from their country and is due to the neglect and abuse they face.

No the MOL will give her a release with no ban and her old company cannot stop this at all. She needs to play it clever with the MOL: as they could say she is complaining just to move job :-( so my advice would be go there play the sob story I will get eviceted ny car loan my credit card etc and say to them that she needs her money, wait one week and then go back and say she found another job. the other could be if the MOL contract was issued 3 months ago she could still be on probation dependant ont he dates of the MOL contract and if this is the case she has to serve no notice at all.

If the salary is more than 10 days late she can file a case in the MOL, they will attempt to get the salary on her behalf. On another note as she is in a limitied contract they would have to pay her 3 months notice to terminate the contract and they cannot do that just because she has filed a case, the MOL will insist that they pay and they will make a note that she is not to receive a ban. As another poster said this could take some time so it would be best to file a case as soon as possible and also take with her documents that prove she was working prior to the MOL contract.

I think this is mainly in Sharjah that it is happening, I also know people that have Ethiopian maids so as I said it was in my opinion. If there is any doubt as to my post please call the Sharjah immigration and ask to be put through to the maid section. I have no reason to lie and was just offering my opinion - sorry if you dont like it but there is no need to be so confrontational or rude. Have a great day

IMHO i would not even consider hiring an ethiopian and before anyone shoots me down please read to the end. last week alone 78 maids all ethiopian were caught in one building and everyone of them had absconded. There is a huge mafia that controls them and these maids at the moment are proving to be the most problomatic. They wait for you to make the visa and then run away to work part time. In my family and friends alone we have had a total of 16 run away and it becomes an expensive process. However if you decide that you want to go - there are a great deal of agencies in Ajman who have them. Good luck with your decision
