My boy is 4 month old and for 2 months he slept on me or with me all cuddled in my arms...elevated head made it easy for him to sleep as he had very sad colic....gripewater and sleeping on my chest helped him sleep well...colic is worst between 10pm to 4am as per paed.... 3rd month onwards we moved him in to grobag(sleeping bag) and in to his crib...now he is addicted to his grobag and sleeps so peacefully.

I am not SAHM , have a lovely house help, my mum is there with me these days but I still feel SUPER GUILTY even if I try to sneak in some ME time...and its sad. I have put on loads of wght since giving birth in March but feel guilty to spend 2 hours in the gym....rather take DS out for a walk. Once back from work I FEEL its my DUTY to take over baby...so till I leave for work next day am completely in to the breastfeed, burp, diaper change routing...I am struggling to enjoy the ME time happily gifted to me my DH and Mum... Hope I can steer clear of this guilt... so honestly no tips for you....from me atleast!sorry......

Check out the book by Alisa Vitti called Woman Code which discusses hormonal balance and eating to change fertility, weight issues, etc. Many women have been able to conceive after following this protocol. Good luck! http://floliving.com/about.html Agreed, the symptoms of PCOS can be improved with diet - lowish carb (eg. 40-80g a day) whole foods, high fat/protein, minimal sugars and grains [url=http://www.marksdailyapple.com/search-results/?cx=004987908667488763946%3Akd-fp2c7jek&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=UTF-8&q=pcos&siteurl=www.marksdailyapple.com%2F&ref=www.google.co.uk%2F&ss=1075j578573j3 '>Diet-related reading (free)[/url'> I completely support abt PCOS control thru diet.. I suffered infertility owing to PCOS for 14 yrs till I completely detoxed and followed less carb high protein diet....I now have a 4 month old baby boy!

Sharing my experience: a team member had caught her maid with her buildings watchman in compromising position when she got home early last week. She called the police, both the maid and watchman were deported the next day with life long ban. My colleague was not penalised at all.

My baby is 16 weeks old and I started home made semi-solid feed mixed wth BM or formula for night time feeds...this is giving me 5hrs of uninterrupted sleep and thank GOD for that I can be human at work and not a zombie! It's extremely debatable topic whether to introduce solids early but I beleive each baby is different and their needs are different. I had c-section and struggled with milk supply for my boys demand so top fed from hospital itself. I take fenugreek seed pills (solgar) which have got me breastfeeding till now....along with oats as part of daily intake and loads of fluids. For semi solid food I make a batch and freeze for use for a week: 1 tbsp basmati rice, half tbsp yellow lentil, 1 glass of water and 1 red juicy peeled apple or pear. I blend it and freeze this puree' as cubes . for evening feed after bath I use 2 cubes of this solid along with 2oz of bm or formula. Baby guzzles this up , sometimes as dreamfeed sumtimes awake and then he snoozes for 4.5 to 5 hrs straight! Am planning to introduce tinned solid food after 6 months though....

I have frnds kids going to both DPS and Modern... my personal observations: Modern is very result driven along with great extra curricular activities. DPS on the other hand is like orchestrated circus(words of my frnd who has 2 boys going to DPS).Teachers come and go leaving kids stranded with multiple teaching styles. Modern on the other hand has strong admin...and good teaching crew... DPS is laid back CBSE( I am from CBSE background too) and Modern is academically oriented towards detailed studies as in any ICSE school. My husband is from ICSE background and he finds most of the curriculum way dated... Having said that our DD goes to O levels and planning to send our now 3 month DS to O levels too. We, as parents suffered a lot in CBSE and ICSE curricula...love to see our DD enjoy no homework policy of O levels.

Am a crackberry addict.... but giving devil it's due... Q10 is a fab phone with amazing keyboard and the hub feature where all updates are viewed at a go works for me very well! However, as a phone with few add ons its great but if other features and apps support is what you are looking for then for sure apple pdts are always going to win hands down.

Believe me taking off coz ur child is sick is a pain for all bosses! I have been working in Dubai for last 14 yrs , reporting to various bosses and they all seem to think kids can thrive with maids/nannies..its a perception hard to beat. how ever its' annual leave thats burnt off and not marked as sick.... I have realised that at work I am replaceable but not to my bubs....so dont bother at all and dont be too hard on urself too.

I delivered my baby boy in Medcare in March this year... my obgyn (Dr.Luthra) is from Medcare. I had c-section and was really happy with the OT team, nurses, Anesthetologist team, and general care. I had to rush to the hospital on emergency twice and was impressed with 24/7 obgyn team on duty. teams of docs came visiting at every shift change, nurses were very very caring, helped me all 3 days with breast feeding as my bub was having difficulty latching.

Oh yes MrsJT, labels can be so so misleading. My GD consultation about diet was such an eye opener. All home made and not off shelves was the mantra to maintain my diet. Juice, soup, stirs, baked veggies, grilled chicken ...but I cheated with greek yoghurt with honey though!

In moderation juice is fine...in my GD diet one small glass of orange juice was there. but not everyday...twice or thrice a week. Got to know dragon fruit is good to manage insulin, so got hooked on to having dragon fruit during my pregnancy. Even my family has sad background of diabetes so now even though am back to normal blood sugar, i have to monitor my carb intake and processed sugars.

Please do take this wght gain alert to be serious esp if you were over wght to start with... I had lost 12 kgs when I conceived...with in week 22 I had put on 8 kgs back! Doc was furious asked me to take care and not put on any more than 10-12 for my entire pregnancy for fear of GD. I caved in to my cravings...by week 29 was diagnosed with GD, cudnt manage with GD diet so put on insulin. Delivered in March via c-section, struggling to loose wght now...whilst on insulin and VERY strict diet I didnt gain wght...just the last month of pregnancy put on wght...about 2 kgs...makign total wght gain during pregnancy as 14kgs.

My son is 2.5 months old, breast milk fed and top fed...have ped appt in July for his next rounds of vaccinations and consultation. Before that wanted to know what all mothers follow for introducing solids. Which month should I be introducing the extra somethings for the baby...is it after month 4? A frnd in US is already feeding mashed potatoes, beans etc as her ped mentioned if baby can hold his head whilst sitting then time for solids...even though her baby is 2 months( just abt)...so am confused whether to start solids??

Being from the sub-continent...few vaccinations are a must for our baby...and for my elder 10yr daugher when we adopted her and took her for nursery admission one thing which we were asked upfront was her updated vaccinations card. So am sure its a major thing out here... esp Hep B

Really sorry OP had to go thru this....however one great thing about Dubai Police( am a fan!) is that they take such complaints seriously and follow through. I had a similar experience(personally) , called Al Ameen, was asked to report to my local police station. With in 24 hrs the guy was caught, paraded for identification, court case rapped on him! Really really efficient...I had asked the police men if I need to do court runs then I wud like to avoid filing official case...they said not to worry...they will take it from there....

Been through work place bullying recently,it's a learning curve for the person bng bullied and the tolerance level of the person! I tolerated for an year and then confronted...went head one with a full fledged grievance against the manager...got due deligence process initiated, got her knuckles rapped, disciplinary action done! You can only be a support for your colleague with out instigating....

SPrings is heaving with such abandoned cats, with neighbours threatning me ever so often for feeding strays! don't blame them too...but how to home such abandoned pets...and this vicious dumping cycle continue... Morning shower before goign to school as my DD needs to blow dry her thick mane...for us it was more of a cultural thing too as we can't pray with cleaning up( bath & shower) ...morning prayers are done after shower only. Further to that, going to school...best way to make sure poor kids are tortured in to being awake is....shower!

I can recommend SPrings..we have been residents for over 8 yrs now...well maintaines play areas for kids, walking areas around lakes, healthy mix of expats, community centres with Spinneys, restaurants etc just 5 min away... I have frnds who have just moved in to JVT...living spaces are bigger but no lakes etc and not yet that green as it's new community coming up...though JVT shares the community centres of Springs/Meadows etc.

I have just submitted my papers for sponsoring my parents...the cost is 2000aed per head; I had to produce an affidavit from my country's consulate declaring that even though I hve a brother, he is settled in Scotland and I am the sole care taker of my parents. Once they get the residence visa, they are eleigible for UAE Health card under which they are covered for medicals under govt hosp care.... I am waiting to get the verdict from Humanitarian committee as it's them who decide on case to case basis. Lil bit of paperwork ofcourse: 6 months bank statement, min salary of 10k( basic and utilities);rent contract or RERA paper if you own property, Any utility bill proving your residence address, letter of salary and employment(in arabic) from your company if working or who ever is sponsoring them. and an arabic form which needs to be typed from Immirgration office itself...initial payment of 130AED and once committee approves then full payment of 4000AED. all the best sponsoring your parents...
