Hi Ladies, I'm 31 weeks +, due date is the 2 march. I'm feeling good except have major SPD (pelvic pain) so hard to be on feet and stay active. I will either deliver at Al Garhound private hospital or Medcare by Safa - does anyone have experiences at either of these? I'll be touring them this weekend. Erin :) Medcare is my hospital as my ob gyn practices there...this weekend I was hospitalised after being diagnosed with GD needing insulin. Was there for 3 nights and was impressed with the care and concern. Nurses and docs on rounds were helpful and co-operative. My ob gyn was in constant touch with the team monitoring my progress as she was busy delivering.

So very sorry to read about what you are going through.. I can only share what I went through and hope you get to a point where you feel content, soon. I have been through infertility treatments, followed by failed IVF. DH and his family were completely against adoption. Long battle, somehow managed to take him for an orphanage visit, to just sponsor a day out for the kids. His heart broke when he saw the kids.. I know I kind of cheated him in to the visit but God knows how I am still proud of that cheating moment of my life. We put in out adoption papers with in a week of the orphanage visit, with in a year we got our daughter in to our lives. She was 2.5 yrs old then...fast forward...she turned 10 this year November. And we bacame pregnant with out any medical intervention this June...expecting our miracle baby boy this March. Whilst going thru repeated arguments about adoption, I did mention to DH that although I love him to bits, I am falling apart for not having a nurturing relationship with a child. Wealth, luxury, fabulous life style, travelling, vacationing was seeming to be worthless for me...and I guess that prompted him to go visit the orphanage. I only wish to convey that there is always hope when in love....please keep that hope and faith.

I can feel your concern...had an absolute fussy eater on hands when DD was a toddler....I used to play with her and feed her at the same time... used to be prolonged feeding time but worth it's while. My mum had warned me against TV but I cheated a bit and tried distraction with games ;O) If she would be fussy....or threw a tantrum then play time would stop...

Have to share my wonderful experience with Dr.Luthra...had read so much negative about her behaviour etc....but believe me I was bowled over by her yesterday. Even though we had to wait for an extra hour coz she had an emergency in the ward, the amount of details she put in our consultation was really appreciated. I am borderline Gestational diabetic, she has put me on a carb controlled diet with no meds or insulin for next 3 weeks....twice a week sugar at home monitoring and then will revisit to review the readings. I was a lil scared if I did any damamge to my baby....and that was wen she very kindly explained about why we need to be careful now, wat all measures I can take for a healthy baby and repeatedly told me not to stress as stress increases sugar. Consider myself to be lucky to have been diagnosed early to make lifestyle changes with out meds which are not always good for baby.... She not only did a doppler but a quick scan to show my baby was fine...just to put me at ease... whilst leaving she also mentioned...am sure u must have heard am very strict and abrupt...but brace yourself it's for your baby's benefit. As a FTM (biological) it was music to my ears to hear such positive comments and not be belittled at all....which was the feedback I heard abt doc.

I wish my frnd the dog behaviourist was still in town to help you with this situation... she helped us with similar natured rescued belgian shepherd whom we rescued wen she was 6 yrs old! Lots's of trainings, and lots of effort from us and she is ok...she is still the most aggressive of the pack....she is ok with children but with me being pregnant I really have to make sure she still gets as much attention as she is used to or else her evil side will return. I wish you all the very best in finding the best solution....

We bought lime tree from fujairah over three yrs ago...and it's doign well....though I cover it with garden cover during peak of summer for constant shade or else the leaves burn and shrivel. I tried a coconut tree for my gardern few years back but it just didnt survive the summer onslaught..even though we kept it super hydrated....

Clarins...I changed from Liz Arden to Clarins 3 years back and my oily skin doesnt shine as much. even their tinted moisturisers are great day wear...last thru the day at work. Where is this available to buy here? I to wear tinted moisturiser and would love for it not to become a shiny mess. I get mine from either duty free or Paris Gallery, even Debenhams cosmetics sections stock Clarins...and mosituriser is from the hydra quench range; go for oily or combo skin one in blue bottle with white cap. Clarins tinted moisturiser comes in 3 shades , is long lasting and doesnt shine as much.

I just got my bright apple-green stokke and am THRILLED with it. My mother bought it second hand for me in the Netherlands, had it "serviced" at the Stokke dealer to make sure it's in great condition and took it with her when she visited last week. Including the oversized/extra baggage fees we only paid Dhs1700 in total, as opposed to the 5000 it costs new in the shops here! If you've got family coming over or if you're visiting your home country yourself before baby comes it's definitely worth looking at some classifieds. Wow wat a deal!!! I ahve family in Edinburgh...will ask them to look for second hand options if any....thanks a lot! If all else fails will settle for the BIG hole in DH's pocket and ask him not to invest on baby pushing gift for me.. LOL!

I bought the Stokke and love it! I bought the bassinet which was great because DD was perfectly flat and comfortable to sleep in for long periods of time (I used it as a moses basket as well). We also bought a Maxi Cosi car seat which was very easy to put on and off the frame of the Stokke and not too heavy! Then when she was older we moved her to the stroller and again it was brilliant because she was able to see clearly, being that little bit higher up. We even found that we could use it almost as a high chair in cafes and restaurants. It is VERY expensive but we bought ours in the UK and had it shipped over which saved us over 3000AED. If you can afford it, buy it - you won't regret it but if you don't want so spend that much money (and I wouldn't blame you) then there are plenty of good prams out there! Thanks....I found the izisleep option of car seat bassinet very tempting...from Stokke...I can easily use it for 0-3 month for my bub! It's the biggest spending I will be doing if I go for Stokke but odd are all for this as it's good for my back, scaleable and last forever as per the reviews.... About shipping option...my brother is in edinburgh let me ask him to find out how cheap is it from there...as here the entire gamut will; cost around 7000aed with car seat etc.

With a bad back you also need to think about lifting your travel system in and out of the car (much harder work than lifting baby so don't go too heavy). Maybe borrow a toddler and check whether they can climb into the pram by themselves (mine can into the my3 which is handy) I seem to remember the stoke having good storage access which is a plus, and make sure you can fold and unfold by yourself, don't let the guy in the shop do it. ah yes...thanks for this insight too... am looking for a travel system for a new born...so yes, folding and unfolding of the stroller and putting it in the boot is another task I need to prepare for my ailing back. in 23rd week by sciatica is a raging pain....god help me! Will definitely try my hand at the stroller than the shop person...thanks ever so much...
