Appletiser, in the last year I have heard so many hair raising things about incidents in SA, some of these things happened to my family members. I do not believe that crime is improving at all, if statistics are showing improvement - I would immediately say people have stopped reporting crime. I know SA is beautiful and there are amazing people.... but that's about as many positives I can say. The crime and the risk of crime - makes me think I would really not ever want to return to live there.

My first comment is WHY ? Joburg! :) Just joking!! but, Not really :) um where are you originally from? Joburg is definitely not my first choice when it comes to SA, but I guess you maybe didn't have a choice in that matter. Sandton, Bryanstan - I have friends who are really happy in those areas. But depends where work is for you? Have you got kiddies? Look it's going to be a major culture shock and different way of life. Locking your doors and looking over your shoulder are going to become second nature to you. SA is BEAUTIFUL! Thankfully you moving there just at the end of winter... and that's a beautiful time of year!

burnsie000 Is this available here? I exercise 3 times a week, but really struggling to loose that extra 8 kilos edited by JSW on 23/04/2012 Hi its definitely available here, the only problem is buying while they have stock, this stuff sells like hotcakes and carries great value. It retails at AED250 per jar, but I heard that people were selling off jars for AED500 because peeps especially in fitness were desperate to buy it, because they know how great it it. Dubai Herbal Centre sells it, but I also know a few other people who distribute it if you can't go to the clinic when you need to buy it. So let me know if you need details. Forward warning - it doesn't taste nice - BUT it WORKS

Its in July, so I'm not sure outside will be good? No i'm seeing finger foods and cocktails :) would also love live entertainment (but that is a different story) :) I'd try to get feelers out as soon as possible depending on when it falls in July as Ramadan is also in July, so many places do Iftar events - this could work to your advantage or against you as they make lots of money in Ramadan off these nights. Thanks Amy, it would be for the first friday night in July,6th. So about a week + before Ramadan begins. Hard Rock pvt room - might be my back up option. But I really would prefer a different venue. I like the idea of the Arabian ranches PVT upstairs room, will give them a call. In the meantime more ideas are welcome :) THANK U

well in my thinking... is a flapjack like a crumpet? I make my own version which are healthy (I call it a Protein pancake though :) ) - 3 egg whites + 1 whole egg, mixed with 1/3 cup oat flour, tsp of vanilla essence... and there you go... I normally put some jam on (St Dalfour - as it has no added sugars) and cinnamon!

Beebers, I did not think you were being negative about Nadine at all. I am curious about you - because you seem really clued up on nutrition and training the way I'm learning - and from your post I thought maybe you knew Nadine personally. Your post makes sense too - and I understood what you were saying without the clarificaton :) On another note now, I saw this on another friends status update and this makes so much sense to me too - ''the journey is the destination'' You must've missed the "Ask Beebers" talk! ;) Goodmorning - I was stalking it :)

I haven't read all the replys. But in 10 weeks, I've been doing Glorygirls - it's an amazing programme, have a look in shape mag this month - 4 of 5 finalists are glorygirls. I've lost 12kg's in 10 weeks, and honestly i've cheated quite a bit, but i keep getting back on the bus... and keep trying! You also need to realise there is more to losing weight and keeping it off than just training hard and eating less. I can't recommend GloryGirls enough! edited by burnsie000 on 11/03/2012 Starting off with a coach and a 'team' is a great start. Nadine also seems like a great lady. Even she herself recently had to do a 're'transformation, correct? Proving that no one is perfect and yes--when you fall off, you get back on. simple. That is who will succeed, he who gets back on the horse! I like what you said about it's more than working out hard and eating less, but that is what every person needs to find out for themselves. And this takes self-motivation (can't buy it!), consistency, heart, drive, and some experimentation. Be prepared to learn and understand the concepts of the program you are on, or you'll always gain weight back because you don't get the concept of what exactly is making you leaner. Or you'll always pay someone to figure it out for you. If someone just wants to lose X amount of lbs, or just wants to be down to a size "x" --well they'll have to do something like weight watchers--and be on it forever--counting points. I used to tell my clients to choose an extra hour of sleep over the gym in the a.m. when they were run down--sleep and water are frightfully underrated. Beebers, I got to say reading your posts regularly and now - I am really curious as to who you are. Nadine from what I understood just wanted to get photoshoot ready recently, if that is your re-transformation you are talking about. Honestly speaking Nadine is just amazing, from the way that she coaches to how she handles her business. I am inspired by her!

Who did your hair? I recently started going to them and I must say I loved the cut they did. But the color I had recently - I'm not mad about, blonde highlighted hair to brown but I look like I've got green/grey hair where the highlights were. ETA - I went back and had highlights again - really so happy with my hair, cut and color is gorgeous. I love them and I'd talk to the hairdresser if you were not happy, they will help you edited by burnsie000 on 12/03/2012

I know this is going to sound simple, but just by doing boxing you will blast your heart rate up. Literally just sit, and punch it out. Jillian Michaels recommends this for any lower body injury.

Where in Springs 3 was that? And I always get laughed at that I block all my sliding doors with a long piece of wood to prevent them from being slid open from the outside. if someone is desperate enough they will break a window .... but lets hope it doesn't come to that It happened on the Meadows side.... I also saw a man (he wasn't a gardener) jumping over the springs 3 fence this morning (I was doing a U-turn at the traffic light) and when I tried to inform security, it turned into a different kind of discussion as they didn't understand what I was saying :(

Ladies thank you for your responses and advice! I really appreciate it. Going to give it all a go and hope to have relief asap! Sami, been doing hot packs, but never thought to try cold packs... so thanks for that. Know my posture needs work too, being quite tall I tend to slouch... so shoulders back and head up - i'm going to bed to hopefully get some sleep. Cos I have battled with this neck to get a decent nights rest since Friday.

I love Dubai because I can shop late, if I want to. I love Dubai because it's safe for me to go out on my own without having to look over my shoulders and worry about getting attacked or robbed. I love Dubai because I can find some of the most amazing food from countries I haven't even been to. I love Dubai because in the 6 years we've been here we've lived a life we would only have dreamed of living. I love Dubai because of the beautiful winters :-)

Hi ladies, I made this twice, once with the eggs and the next time with the egg substitute. I found the eggs worked better. The batch with the substitute didn't cook properly, even though they were in the oven longer. So not sure why, being a novice with egg substitute maybe someone can give me a few tips. But until then real eggs all the way for this recipe :)

Thanks ladies, I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I can't take the credit for the idea of beans in brownies - I saw a recipe in a book, but I did tweak it abit to make it even more healthy. Daza, can't wait to hear how your batch turns out. IWOM - I think you can get the Egg substitute at the organic shop - if you hurry today you can make the sale :) also not sure how much sugar to use... i'd try the same amount, cos the brownies are not overly sweet anyway.

Ok Ok :) 1.5 cups of canned black beans, rinsed and drained, 3tbs cocoa powder unsweetened 1tbs espresso powder 3/4 cup egg substitue OR 4 eggs 2tbs fatfree sour cream 1tbs melted unsalted butter 8tbs zylitol 1tsp vanilla essence combine the beans, cocoa, espresso powder and egg substitute in a food processor for about 2 minutes. Then add the sour cream, butter, vanilla and zylitol and combine for about another 1 minute. Bake in a preheated oven 180 degree c and bake for 28 - 30 minutes. if you cut into 12 squares each square will contain less than 50 calories...
