Hello everyone. Where can I buy Benefiber in Abu Dhabi? I bought Clear Fiber from one of those supplements stores which was organic and "all natural" and cost a fortune, but didn't dissolve completely.

If you get a liquor license from Abu Dhabi can you use it in Dubai, or do you have to get a separate license for Dubai?

I have the Philips and it works great, though you can only prepare small quantities of food at a time. Definitely not for large families.

The reason for the baggage weight limit per bag is to limit the weight a baggage handler would have to lift at one time.

I agree with Daza; another cause of yeast infections may be sugar in the urine. The pediatrician will check for diabetes as well.

Agree with DT. I don't think there is any suitcase going anywhere. The con artist will probably tell her next that the authorities are holding the suitcase and he needs her to send him money to get it released.

You are not required to tip, so you tip if you feel she deserves it and as much as you like. As a Christmas (or other major holiday) bonus, I give the equivalent of one week's pay.

Hello VictoriaM. I'm sorry about the trouble you are having. As hard as it seems it may be best to let her go after letting her know the results of your research, of course, and letting her make up her own mind. There is only so much you can do. I had a reasonably good maid who was great at cleaning and didn't mind any cleaning task, but did not like to serve at my morning coffees, nor do laundry, nor iron, etc., though she was willing to learn. In any case, when her contract was up she told me she could get a higher paying job elsewhere and was planning to leave so I offered her extra money and a laptop computer if she would stay. After she decided to stay she became very difficult, she would "forget" to do things I asked her to do, "borrow" things without permission, spent a lot of time on her phone, and yes, the computer I gave her and became generally unreliable, so eventually she had to leave. Fortunately, I was able to get a much better maid and now wish I had done it in the first place. As another poster said, don't let het hold you to ransom. If she wants to go let her go. Incidantally, what does she say about leaving the kitty behind?

Hi Singarosa, please feel free to vent. No need to name the Dr. here if it is against the rules of this forum, but just talking about it will help and you'll receive some moral suppport from the ladies on this forum. You may even get a different perspective on things and if nothing else, you'll feel better and you may even be able to cope better with the situation.

Everyone should have at least one pair of shoes to wear on long walks. Granted, Birkenstocks are kind of ugly, but if you can walk in them all day pain-free, you owe them to yourself.

Whatever this relationship may or may not be, you are obviously unhappy about it, so your husband should know how you feel and take that into consideration. I agree with kewlzany below that communication is key.

Hi Burnsie, you may have reached the point of no return at this time, but I can understand your hesitation since she is good with your children and that's probably more important to you than anything else. What worked for me is a somewhat similar situation is to take the Alex's Shoes list and modify it to suit our needs and this way she had a clear understanding of what needs to be done every day. I also make a check list whenever there is something extra, like company for dinner, and she has been so much more productive this way.

Don't know whether this transaction is legal, but to constitute human trafficking it would be something where the maid is coerced or pressured to take the job and has no choice. A lot of recruiting firms take huge finder fees in a lot of other professions and that is fine. Please correct me if I'm wrong. edited by Catherine Abigail on 24/07/2013

Was the skin broken? If so, it may be infected and it may be best to see a doctor. If the skin wasn't broken, then a heating pad might help with the swelling.

As Beany says. I posted instructions and directions (including map link) to get there a couple of years ago: http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic136977-which-border-for-visa-run.aspx Casta, we used your detailed directions for our visa run and everything went as you describe. Just a minor update: you can pay the 200 AED either in cash or by credit card. Thank you for the helpful information.

I really don't think a facial can do all that, at most the effects of a good facial last a couple of days, if that, but getting a facial with all the pampering involved can make you feel good and when you feel good, you'll look good.

Where would you go if you wanted to get some suspicious-looking moles checked out? (on the body, not in the garden!) In your place I would see a dermatologist as soon as possible especially if there is change in shape or color.

Fabulous: production, dancers, orchestra – a first class+++ show Terrible: acoustics, seats, toilets, seating people after the show has started; noise In spite of this, the show is worth seeing, it is truly excellent and I've seen Swan Lake many times over the years in various parts of the world.

underpants no, bin those. Bras in excellent shape fine, if there is a home for them...unless of course you were breastfeeding when you wore them, then .....well, no.... and to Azaiba I also agree that is a tad insulting..how old are you anyway? Bra is like a T.shirt, underpants, a different thing. Agree, bra is like a T-shirt, used underpants - trash them.

As someone who works in luxury goods, I can tell you that any brand worth their salt is extremely careful with their brand image, including aspects like distribution and positioning. Meaning that they will only want to sell in high-end retailers (e.g. Sephora, Paris Gallery, department stores) to maintain their exclusivity. If your cousin really wants to sell branded products from home, buying in the malls in Dubai is not the best idea as Dubai is very expensive - she'd be better buying online. But the thing is If I buy for her and send it to her with her father/husband who visits frequently, will save our shipping costs? Or it will be the same? What do you think? And do they have the same prices everywhere in all the stores? Or do they differ? You are describing what is called "grey market" and I am not sure what the legal implications are here. You need a contract with the manufacturer of the goods to set up a distributorship. As celticcavegirl noted, most manufacturers want to protect their brand image.

I drive and I always offer to give people lifts whenever I feel like it. If I don't feel like it, I don't offer and if they ask, I tell them I'm not going that way this time. I also use public transportation if more convenient, like to avoid traffic. I love the Dubai metro! Occasionally, I ask a friend to drive if we are going to the same place, but it is always someone who knows I would do the same for them. I would never ask a mere acquaintance to drive me anywhere.

A doctor should do a full physical examination the first time she sees a patient. There are many causes of irregular periods, the onset of menopause is only one of them.

And I feel bad :-( You did what you had to do. We had to let our previous maid go because she was bringing a boyfriend to the house without our knowledge; she broke the rules so she had to go. I did feel bad and gave her a little money to soften the blow a bit, but felt bad just the same. Still feel sorry for her every so often.

Same here. Anything higher than two inches (5cm) is no longer an option for me if I have to walk. But Ferragamo makes great shoes with reasonable heels that are quite elegant at the same time. They are expensive, but are comfortable and last a long time.
