Hi Madame, I spoke to DH who repaired our blender a few years ago. He mentioned you can remove the old coupling with a screw driver and then screw the new coupling on s the coupling is made from a much softer metal than the shaft. He suggested you google "kitchenaid coupling replacement". See below which I cut and paste. Instruction Sheet for KitchenAid Blender Coupling Drive Installation 1) Unplug Blender 2) With blender facing you, insert flat blade screwdriver (3/8 to 7/16 inch) between the black coupling drive and the blender housing. 3) Raise up on the screwdriver to turn the coupling drive clockwise (it is a left hand thread so the coupler keeps tight during use). Keep making ¼ turns until the coupling drive comes off. Do not worry about bending the old coupling drive. You are going to throw it away. 4) There is a flat spot on the blender shaft and construction of a flat tool is possible, but not necessary. 5) Check the threads on the blender shaft and clean the old metal shavings from the threads. Hand tighten the new coupling drive. It will be kept tight during normal use due to the left hand thread design and the clockwise spinning of the blades. We have two kids at DIA in PYP. I do agree with Buy me a Pony that the quality of teaching can be variable. We have been at the school for 3 years during which time there as only one teacher we didn't get on with. With respect to homework I do think there is a fair balance and it's not over the top. Overall we are happy with the school (or we would have moved the kids) edited by cayrunner on 05/06/2012

Hi there, DH recently found some old slides of when he was a child. I would like to surprise him by converting the slides to digital images and perhaps printing a few. Is there anywhere in Dubai that can provide this service? Thanks

There appears to be a place opening in DIFC next to Axiom that does hand made invitations. Not sure when it is open. If you like I can ask DH to see if there are any contact details.

Quenda, A bit yucky at the moment but less inflamed. I think will take at least a week or so to heal. I found what I think may be similar at Boots today. Thanks for asking.

Shaks, You are assuming a few things which I think you need to reconsider 1. Residency and bank accounts may be linked (as you require a residency visa to open a bank account). Cancelling residency due to death may feed into your banks system 2. What's not to say your bank does not have a call back procedure in place for unusual transfers or transfers outside of your usual activity. For example - DD goes to clear you bank accounts out electronically as worst case scenario has taken place and originates electronic wire transfer instructions. Your bank thinks this transaction is outside of your usual banking activity so decides to call you to confirm you actually requested the transfer and it is not someone else accessing your account. Guess what, as you are no longer here, bank can not reach you and thus does not make the transfer as it has no verbal confirmation of the transfer. Don't be so sure your DD can transfer all you funds. 3. What about other scenarios - you are involved in a car accident in which someone is injured and the prosecutor decides you may be at fault. in this case they can instruct that you bank accounts be frozen. You can choose to gamble with being able to get your funds out of the country when required, however, as others have suggested, why not keep the bulk of your funds offshore? edited by cayrunner on 26/06/2011

LMOA-DXB If you are asking about the Town Centre, it is the one with the large Spinneys, Starbucks, Hayya, Mosque has Royal bakery next to it. The English Sermon is given by someone from Australia who is excellent in terms of delivering the sermon.

Perhaps try Union Coop (if I remember correctly). There is an area there where they grill fish.

Dear Klee, I know DH insists on having/providing a travel letter when either of us are traveling alone with the kids. Certain counties (Canada for example) are quite vigilant about checking for potential child abductions. refer to the following for some guidance: http://travelwithkids.about.com/cs/carplanetips/a/crossborders.htm http://www.ppt.gc.ca/planification/16-.aspx?lang=eng from the Canadian government provides a good example of a travel consent letter. Unsure about having it notarized, DH normally gets one of his friends who are a lawyer to certify the signatures and attached passport copies. Hope this helps,

In Sept we went to Oman via Hatta, they did not ask for a passport at the first checkpoint. A few weeks later we were taking my brother in law to Hatta and we had to return to Dubai as we did not have our passports and they would not let us past the first checkpoint without them. I can confirm you will need your passport to go to Hatta. edited by cayrunner on 06/03/2011

If Q Decor do not have the size you need, you can place a custom order for any size you need and they can arrange to have it made for you.
