Have you looked at Al Qusais area? I know the Al Nawras Hotel is quite reasonably priced but it might be a bit out of the way. Maybe look on airbnb also you might get a short term let.

I have used this service many times, it is great that you check-in in dubai and have no worries about your luggage until you arrive at your destination. Anytime I have used the bus service it has always taken off on time and I have never had any delays.

Hi EJC, Yes, I am a member of the program, however, I don't think you have to be a member to be eligible for an upgrade. I believe that if there are seats available in the next cabin class then they will send you an email and then you can place a bid. I placed the minimum bid and I am still waiting to hear, my flight is early Monday morning so hoping to hear today. Fingers crossed!

Hi ladies, I did a search to see if there was a thread on this topic already but couldn't find anything. My question: Has anyone used the new bid to upgrade on etihad? I am flying econony to London on Sunday and received an email saying that I can bid for an upgrade to business. I am considering bidding from 1000-1500 aed for the upgrade? If anyone would like to share their upgrade bid with me I would appreciate it. TIA

DH and I went for lunch at the farm yesterday, the setting is fab, we had to sit outside as we didnt have a reservation, wasn't too bad as they have cooling system outside. DH had pasta with chicken, it was nice but the portion size was small and the chicken was processed. I had a panini, it was a nice but a little dry, the side salad was yummy. We both had fresh juices also. The waiter seemed a little ditzy and we had to ask him 3 times to bring our drinks (it wasn't that busy). I would go again but maybe for breakfast next time as the breakie menu looks delicious!

Both Uni of Sunderland and Uni of Nottingham offer teaching courses known as PGCE and PGCEi. I think these apply more for people wanting to teaching at primary/secondary level but I'm sure some of the course deals with nursery. As far as a course in EYFS im not sure if any uni's offer it here. Have a look at this site you might be able to do it in a few months http://www.earlyexcellence.com/training_programme.html?gclid=CM3hz7TT4K8CFQ176wodGX6a_w

Whatsapp is a free messaging service to other contacts that also have whatsapp. I believe that it can be downloaded for android phones etc. Just go to your app store and download it. I am sure you can get it in Qatar. You will need a wireless connection or data package to use it though. As I said the other person must also have whatsapp.

I don't know about Al Barsha, but a good friend of mine lives in JLT, she pays montly for a 1 bedroom, the buliding is Concorde Tower. I'm sure you have checked Dubizzle, when you are on there in the keyword box but in 12 cheques, might give you something. Good Luck.

I know that the Burj Al Arab had a day spa package recently, I took my sister. We had a full day beach access, fulll body massage, use of all the spa facilities and afternoon tea all for 460dirhams. If you email them they will send you the information. Alternatively you should look on groupon might be some deals there. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Distrikt hotel just off Times Square (was recommend by a fellow expatwoman, they also have a facebook page) It is a relatively new hotel, we were upgraded when we arrived. The rooms are not huge but very clean. The staff were also very informative. We took the super shuttle to the hotel from JFK was $15 dollars each and booked it online before we went. The subway is at the top of the street and there are loads of fab restaurants around the corner. I would also recommend hiring a bike a cycling around Central Park (weather permitting of course) was one of the highlights of the trip and i'm not exactly sporty. Have a fab trip, I'm jealous....totally loved New York.

Something similar happened to my laptop, DH took it to a place in Bur Dubai near Bank street called Cute Computers. It cost approx 250 to have fixed and only took the guy a few hours to fix it. I don't have their number as it was about 6 months ago now.

My friend and her OH stayed there for a week last July, they was requested a non-smoking room but were given a smoking room, the manager happily changed their room for them. They really liked it and the price was good also.
