Sky landers is a game. You can buy different versions so you will need to know what the person will be playing it on - wii, ps3, Xbox. The adventure pack comes with some characters I think. I'm not in Dubai now but you should be able to get it in virgin. Hope that helps you. You can get thm on amazon easily might be much cheaper to shop and ship it.

OP I don't know anyone with children there I know plenty f people who took a look around it but didn't place their kids there. Hope you get some feedback from others to help you.

They will be able to make you earrings to your specification in the gold and diamond park. I have had jewellery made by cara and by mannish and all of it was superb. Pop in and see if you can find the stones and talk to the jewellers or get the stones and tke your mum in fir her to choose a design and get them made for her. They work quickly and are used to turning work around quickly fir people ho are only in dubi fir a few days.

I really dont want to repeat the same story again but I hate when people try to make the VERY BAD EXPEREINCE that others had as "my own opinion". Again it is not only ME, many cats I know, heard of, people posted on this forum talked about their bad experience in that place. Very good that your dogs returned from there healthy, MY CAT DIDNT!!! Just google Posh paws on expatwoman and see the stories you get, yes some are good but some are also bad.. My pet didnt get proper special food when she was boarded at their cattery, her food was bowl covered with sand, dirt, hair and all sort of disgusting things and not washed for 7 days, she dropped weight, needed to be taken to the vet when I got her from there, she was starving obviously because they didnt give her HER FOOD (Which they kept inside her bag instead of feeding it to her) and yet didnt get any apology from the management at Posh Paws after that!! They have an animal sanctuary, they help lot of abandoned animals, it is a nice place for the kids to go and have fun.. okay fine but I have the right to tell my experience. But this is a thread about the animal sanctuary/petting zoo nothing about boarding animals.

It's a petting farm as opposed to a zoo really. My 2 absolutely love it there. we went back there in January and it was really quiet there so they got loads of time with all the different animals. They get to feed the donkeys and goats and horses and ponies. they can hold mice, ferrets, hamsters etc. There are giant tortoises there, a pretty fierce looking monkey/babboon but he's in a huge caged area so not able to be petted. There's a couple of ostriches roaming around who will come over and sniff around your handbag! There's geese, chicks, a turkey (who looked very relieved after Christmas!!!) deer, armadillo, porcupine, puppies, chincillas, little things like chipmunks but can't remember what they were!!!!! It relies soley on donations. We loved going there and will probably be back there when we are next over as my little girl is obbsessed with all animals so loves that she can hold and pet so many different animals. the guys there are lovely and so patient with the kids and will take time to explain all about the animals there. You can also buy eggs from there too! http://poshpawsdubai.com/AnimalSanctuary.aspx edited by Clairehdp on 07/02/2012

Debenhams have a good selection of duvets and pillows. I've also bought some good feather pillows from Carrefour before. Check out the white company at the outlet mall as they often have reduced price items there which makes their products far more reasonably priced (their bedding is really lovely)

There's also Viber....works pretty much like whatsapp but you can make phonecalls providing the person you call also has Viber installed too.....It's an app you can install on your iphone ( I'm not sure about other phones) what if you have aged parents who don't have internet or mobile phones ? lol Set up a skype in number - they just dial the number from their normal landline and it get routed through skype. It meant my Mum could phone me whenever she liked without worryin about the cost. http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/online-number/

I hear you!! I'm going through the same, wont bore you with the details as it's the same as everyone else, LL not providing adequate notice in order not to renew as he wants more cash. Anyway, my question is. If I don't take him to RERA and I just sit tight, does he have to take me to RERA. You see I don't see whty I should go to RERA spend more money and time. If i have sent him the RERA regulations and reminded him what we signed in the contract with regard to notice then if I refuse to move out, does he then have to take me to RERA? You see if he takes me to RERA I'll win anyway. Yes - sit tight - he will have to take you to RERA to get you out and he will lose - you have every right with a renewable contract to stay. Please keep all e mails/texts etc and do not enter into conversations put evertything in writing. he is wrong and Rera will let him know that....

And now they are late also! :\: so maybe he thinks that it's my duty to sit around at home and wait for people . That's if they even decide to show up at all... At least you can warn them of the leaking pool. You do not have to show people around. Make sure they know that you are not intending on moving out......I did that and we didn't have any more viewings!!!!! the agent was very surprised when I said I was surprised that he was showing people around when we had no intention of moving out - didn't see him again!

I would highly recommend her having been to quite a few mandas magic parties over the years and every single one was a huge success www.mandasmagic.com 050 4560413

I've been looking at the Souk Al Bahar and I'd like to make reservations for outdoor dining at the Meat Co but I can't tell from the map online if the Meat Co will have views of the fountain show. Does anyone know if we'll have a good view of the fountains? Yes they do have a view of the fountains when booking ask for a table with the best view it's not a full view for that you're better booking the terrace at the Rivington grill

I would ask him to send the information regarding the treatment and the dr details. Tell him that you will get in touch with the treatment centre and Dr to see how best you can help. If it's the truth and she really is needing to have treatment you will know for sure when the information comes through. You can then be in touch with the treatment centre and decide form there if and how you can help. If it's a scam you won't receive the information and you can hold your head up high that you made the right decision. A similar thing happened to me and a very close friend called and asked for alot of money to help get her out of an awful financial situation - she didnt want me to tell my husband and not to mention it to anyone else. I felt very uncomfortable as she said she could not afford to by any petrol for the car or any food for the family. I decided not to give her the money but offered to pay for her petrol and to do a big on line shop to be delivered so her cupboards could be stocked up and she could feed her family........she slammed the phone down on me and to this day I have never seen or heard of her again. I know she's fine because others have seen her and her child still attends a very very expensive private school. I feel OK about my decision - I was prepared to help her so that her family could eat and continue with their daily routine but this was not good enough for her...... It has made me very wary of stories like yours but if you offer to help and pay towards the treatment direct you will know if the request is genuine....... I don't envy you this decision - it's not nice to be put on the spot like that by someone who has done this in the past and not paid the money back.......

Plus he can't increase the rent in the first 2 years either. Just to let everyone know that I called RERA to ask about this (having similar LL issues to other posters) and this used to be the case, but the law has changed and so the landlord CAN raise the rent after the first year (if he is entitled to an increase). It would mean though that for the 1st year you have been in the property you would have been paying well under the market rate as set by the rental index from RERA and I don't believe anyone is renting out their property for well under market rate - so really it's academic.

my little boy struggled with really bad nose bleeds when we first moved over. You have to pinch the top of the nose quite hard and as the others have said keep head down - not tipped back. He got used to having them and knew what to do even though he was only tiny. we ended up having his nose quarterised on one of our summer trips back home and it ended all the nosebleeds overnight! Hope it eases off for your little one.

No - it doesn't matter how dramatic he becomes - you have a renewable contract - you can stay for another year. If he wants the property back he has to give you a years notice to quit. You are well protected through the rent committee/rera. This happened to us and we ended up filing a case against our landlord and we won hands down - he was told by the court that he should continue to rent himself - that he should not have placed the property on the long term rental market. Of course, he did not need to move in at all as it turned out - it was a complete scam. You know these people really try it on and many fall for their stories. Please don't let him bully you - you have every right to stay in your home for at least another year.

I've had Cara design and make jewellery for me too and it's been superb. the best were a pair of earrings from a ring and a friend of mine designed a necklace herself and had Cara make it up - it's stunning and every time she wears it she has comments about it. Make sure they know you live here and are not tourists - not sure if that makes a difference. they knew me and I would take people in there. Also had lovely jewellery made by Manish in G&D park - ask for Jay.

Thank you ladies for your great advice. I guess all I need to do now is register my contract with RERA in case I need to raise a case & sit tight.... Oh & yes he is a bully & my agent should know better. I agree these RERA registered agents need to start standing up to these Landlords. They should refuse to call the tenants and put forward increases/evictions etc they know it's against the law........ unbelievable. Hope you get on OK.

If he wants to move in, he has to give you 12 months notice and then if he doesn't actually move in himself you can claim compensation. Even if he wanted to sell, he still has to sell the property with a tenant. He is not allowed to just turf you out. He's just being a greedy, selfish idiot - don't stand for it. Plus he can't increase the rent in the first 2 years either. Everything is on your side, don't give in to this bully. Wel said chocs. OP yes he has to give you 12months notice if he wants to move in (this is to stop them trying to increase the rents for no reason). As he's already suggested an increase (I hope you have this in wriitng) they will wipe the floor with him as he's clearly trying it on. He's welcome to sell the property too but again he has to give you 12 months notice to quit or he sells with you as the tenants. We have had both done to us and we won our first case and on the 2nd time as we knew our rights our LL backed down. good luck - don't let him bully you.

The single most important thing to look out for in your contract that it does NOT say NON RENEWABLE....... you must sign a renewable contract otherwise you can be given notice to quit after 9 months and you will have to move out after 1 year - and that;s expensive. Make sure there is no mention at all about the lease being NON RENEWABLE. The secind most important thing is that it comes with a maintenance contract. It is the responsibility of hte LL to maintain the property. Many wriggle out of this and the tenant ends up spending a fortune on maintenance bills. Good luck - it's exciting!

Not being funny ginnee but it won't hurt your dh to get up early and get you the right meds - he can go back to bed after of he needs to You need them ASAP or you'll get far more sick. You can buy Zithromax over the counter can you try the pharmacy in the marina they deliver. Hope you feel better soon. Xxx hmmmmm you dont know my husband. Unfortunately waking him up is a big sin in this house! If I get the zithromax delievered though, will the pharmacy he got the zinnat from refund him the cash? it's 105 dirhams, which to us is alot of money at the moment, having no income :( I know I don't know your Husband but I know you and I know you're going thorugh a really awful time at the moment. Your chest infection can turn into pneumonia so quickly and you will end up so so much worse than you are now and he'll end up having to run the house and look after the girls and you and you might end up having to be admitted to hospital. so.... I was just saying that you really really need to get those meds asap and please don't wait. Wake him up - explain how serious the situation is and I bet you he'll surprise you and sort it all out for you knowing what other options he's facing! He can always catch up on his sleep. Please please look after yourself - put yourself first and make sure you make a quick and good recovery. sorry I can't pop over to help you. xxx

I had a Prado and loved it. It was reliable and really nice to drive. One thing I really really liked about a toyota over other brands (we had other brands before) is that the service is so easy. I would drop off my car early morning - go to the Oasis mall for a coffee and go back after an hour and pick up my car. It would take hours and hours with other manufacturers so my preference would be a toyota for sure as you really are not inconvenienced at all. I miss my Prado!

Easy non-cook starter that I love doing and it always goes is parma ham wrapped around melon slices. The lamb dish sounds delicious. I often do a beef strogonoff with fluffy white rice and a crisp green salad for a dinner party. another really good easy desert requiring no cooking is a very dark bitter chocolate mousse (you can put brandy or cointreau in it too) served in little cups with really nice wafers. Something I have had at a freinds which was delicious was a beautiful spiced berry compote served with very very good vanilla ice cream. She said she just makes it with the frozem mixed berries from Carrefour. It was lovely.

He has to.renew with same number of chqs too he can't change that either. We also had an eviction notice after 1 year from our new landlord as he said he wanted to sell so we popped into the rent committee and checked and they confirmed that he can sl his property but with tenants. He had to give us 1 years notice to either sell or move in himself so you are Both safe. The guys at the rent committee are really nice I would pop in there with your lease and get them to take a look. The agents should know the laws they're as bad as the landlords ! Good luck to you both don't let them bulky you.

We have filed and won a case against our landlord who wanted us out after a year. We won hands down and he was told in no uncertain terms by the judge that we should be allowed to stay in the property for up t0 3 years with no rent increase and he had to pay all the costs - so.....for his greediness he got less rent for our 2nd year (the costs are taken off your rent cheque so you only pay the LL your rent minus the amount you hve to pay to file the case). We stayed in the villa for 3 years and happily vacated in line with the laws that DO protect you. I can't remember the actual amount but I think it's 1% of your annual rent to file a case and I can tell you - if you have a renewable contract and he's trying to get you out after 1 year YOU WILL WIN...... His agent should know that too so they're just at fault as your LL. Hold you ground and don't let them bully you. You have every right to stay after all - its expensive moving, replacing curtains, blinds etc etc - You should be allowed to stay for up to 3 years if you so wish but definitely get the 2nd year there at no rent increase. If you need more help I'm happy to share my experience with you.

I'm sorry, but I have to say this - if I had a young son or daughter with stomach pains and I was worried and wasn't sure what to give them, I wouldn't post a question on a ****** web forum, I would simply take them to the clinic or the hospital. Seriously, I do sometimes wonder if eventually there's going to be a post along the lines of "My house is burning down, I'm not sure what I should do, any advice?" To be fair Edna if we were all at home with our mums around us we'd reach for the phone and ask our mums what to do but....being an expat and plonked in a country with no family close by these forums are really helpful. Petal knows there are lots of mums on here and probably thought she'd see if anyone has had the same thing - it might just be a bug going around and someone might have been able to give her some reassurance. She's clearly concerned so doesn't really need such a sarky comment. Petal - hope your little one is better soon.
