The best way I've found to use miles is the 'cash plus miles' scheme. That way, you can pay a lower fare and use up some miles. As long as the destination you want to go to is featured that month of course!

I've bought them in spinneys before - quite expensive. I'm sure if you can get them in the Spice Souk you will pay a fraction of the price (don't know if you can though-sorry!)

If you are looking for jeans, they sell the brand Not your daughters jeans in the boutique opposite Magrudys. Not cheap, but I was impressed with the result.

Congratulations! Exciting isn't it!!! Just wanted to share my dress experience with you. I found 'The One' whilst I was in the UK. I knew the same brand was available in Dubai (I'd researched!) but decided to order the dress from my local bridal shop (it felt 'special' having a connection from home). And boy, am I glad I did! When I got back to Dubai, I went to the shop that I knew carried that brand. In fact, they had the exact same dress. For AED 4,000 more than I've paid. So, my advise is make sure you shop around. Time wise, I was told 12 weeks from ordering. Allow more for alterations.

My booking got as far as the payment but it wouldn't go through - checked with bank and they said there was no reason for it, or any problem their side. So maybe EK website was having some problems this weekend.

I've just spent the best part of the weekend trying to book online! Soooo frustrating and put me in a foul mood! In the end, I went to an Emirates holiday shop and spoke to a real person. If you do this, make sure you insist on paying the online fare quoted - my 'non online' fare was AED500 more (they did honour the online price quoted)
