Hi, I live in the area but I have my little one in Aspin Nursery, 15 mins drive up sheik zayed road (I work there too) The biggest difference is the outside space (it's huge!) something you just don't get in the JLT area and in this climate the children need as much physical exercise and outdoor time as possible when the weather is great. I've added the link so you can get a feel for the place. I have visited many nurseries and this is by far my favourite! Aspin are also opening a school next year so children attending the nursery will get a school place (a major stress for parents here!). I would recommend you contact as many schools in the area for your eldest ASAP and maybe ask our husbands employer for some assistance? https://www.facebook.com/AspinNursery edited by Coloursplat80 on 18/06/2014

I think it depends on what you and your child are comfortable with and also what suits you in regards to the timings. For some children 'big school' is a but daunting and nursery is more comforting but for others it is exactly what they need! Personally, I prefer nursery as I like that the children still benefit from the same curriculum and standards but the learning is focused on play, exploring and learning to be independent. I feel nursery staff are able to offer a little more support in toilet training, separation anxiety etc. As a teacher (Aspin Nursery) I think the extra year in nursery helps to prepare the children socially and emotionally with the transition to a school environment. Good luck for your not so little one, I'm sure you'll make the right choice!

I registered with Aspin Nursery for my little one, a new nursery but experienced British staff and a great feel to the place.
