Hey Hilsbils Sorry have been away but did pm you earlier....wow, it's tomorrow!! I have EVERYTHING crossed for you. The way you are feeling is normal and I went through exactly the same last time, no symptoms etc yet I did have them the time before so just shows you that there is no hard or fast rule. I also researched symptoms endlessssssly and really everyone is different and many people have no symptoms at all and some do! Please try to keep your spirits up. You really are at the last hurdle now and it is important to be positive. Remember that the progesterone plays havoc with your emotions and how you feel too. PLEASE let us know as soon as you know and I hope to meet you soon. Lots of love and luck and even more of the all important babydust! Praying for you xxx

Oh Hilsbils! Yes, it's a triring old process and very physically and emotioonally draining process. I was going to Conceive from Dubai about 3 times a week early morning so I feel your pain ;) Exciting times though that your egg retrieval is tomorrow. Please don't be anxious about it at all as you dont even feel it and you will be absolutely fine. The staff at Conceive are lovely and will look after you very well indeed.:) All sounds normal to me and yes, I got the leaflet re the hair and the fasting etc too. Like I said before please try not to worry, the only thing that worrying will change is the outcome for the worst so please don't!!! All sounds as though it is well on track for you. I have everything crossed for you - please let me know and STOP worrying.... Hugs and baby dust xxxxxx

Thanks Katrina 0330 and Good Luckwith your cycle too. Hilsbils - your Dr has also scanned me at Conceive and I know the face you mean. However, I think your results are actually quite good so early on. I'm sure they will be even better next time you scan.....keep positive! I'm not in the Marina but am quite close by so contact me and we should definitely meet. Perhaps after Eid. You will be in your 2 week wait by then I think. Exciting times! :) Keep positive, relax, eat healthily and get lots of sleep. Drink lots of water and eat lots of proteins for those little follies! Take care x

Hi Hilsbils Wow - you have started! Very best of luck to you! Dont worry about the symptoms I had exactly the same. However, do mention it to the doctor if you get very bloated but some bloating is normal and they do say that you should have 'stimming' clothes which are a little looser and more comfortable. This is exciting times for you now and it will go quickly. Also try not to stress about being stressed (if you know what I mean) as it will make things worse and this is such a stressful time as it is. It's natural to be nervous about your scan results but take each step at a time and keep me posted. Like DB I was a crying mess and to be honest I still am and I havent been on any medication for 6 weeks now! It's all the hormones. Please let me know how your scan goes. DB - so glad you are feeling good and thanks for the lovely thoughts. This is a tough old process and it's so nice to have such lovely people around. Can't believe you are 21 weeks already - where did that time go?! Happy belated birthday to you both and have a lovely weekend. xxxxx edited by confusion on 02/08/2012

Hi I have been on them since February and have had no side effects that I know of. Am continuing to take them now as my treatment has stopped for a little while but as Hilsbils said there is a lot of info on line about them which I took a look at earlier and it all looks very positive so I am a fan and really hoping they will make the difference! Can't be long now until you start your ivf hilsbils. Lots of luck and babydust to you :)xx

Hello All Some of you may know from my previous posts that we are experiencing a few 'difficulties' in getting our little miracle. I am determined not to give up thous and now wondering if there is any positivity out there that can be passed my way as I am very concerned about my age etc in this whole process! If you have any success stories with docs here in Dubai at 40+ I would really love to know please. Thank you

Hi Hilsbils! Yes we must - how funny! :) I havent got a clear answer as yet but Dr Fakih has suggested a hysteroscopy and having done a lot of research into this it was something I was also edging towards anyway. Therefore, lets see and hope and pray! Then we can take the next steps. I am a real wimp and I can tell you that the injections were absolutely FINE. My dh did them for me each morning and he was amazing - sometimes I had to ask if they were done! I was on a very high dosage (which I suspect you may be too as correct me if im wrong but think you said you also have low amh and are my 'vintage'?) and I have to say that I had no problems at all. I was a little bloated and tired sometimes but I blame that on the fact that I stopped exercising and had got lazy (correction HAVE got lazy :) ) Its such a hard and worrying time but we have to keep the faith. Remember I got pregnant twice and was v similar to you and despite the fact I clearly have a little problem which needs sorting and I am now very positive that it will happen just unsure when. It does work! It may not work first time but I so hope you are in a position to want to keep at it. It will be worth it! Do let me know how to contact you if you'd like to meet up. I've been through all the ups and downs and have met a couple of amazing ladies on my journey (through here) and without their support I think I would have crumbled recently. It's a hard and private process so always good to bounce off others going through it. Lots of luck xxx

Well I hope you get your miracle in the meantime Hannah33. I did one and didnt realise it was the procedure it was until I was actually lying on the bed so I had just nipped out of work for it and then went straight back to work. I was a little uncomfortable but not for long. It was absolutely fine. Good Luck :)

Hi Tashabegood Yes I did accupuncture and would recommend it 100% I have had 2 BFP's from IVF and whilst sadly they havent lasted that is due to other issues. I firmly believe that accupuncture helped tremendously in getting my BFP's. I would highly recommend Dr Ou as she is so experienced in IVF patients and is very knowledgeable in this area. She will come to your house and is very flexible. Her number is 0506328378. Out of interest where are you doing your IVF? Very best of luck with it and hope to hear soon that it is all going well for you. Lots of babydust xx :)

Hi Hilsbils. Yes, lets try and meet up soon! I have met Dr Munira when she has been at Conceive but only briefly. I have been happy with Dr Pankaj but hear so much about Dr Fakih that need to see what he advises as he does seem to get results. That said I have got the BFP's with Dr Pankaj - I just need to keep them! I am a little nervous about my meeting with Dr F later as I hear he can be very rushed so am hoping I am strong enough to make sure I get all my questions answered as feeling a little fragile at the mo! Conceive dont do the test locally, they send it to Beirut and it is v expensive from what I recall (can't remember exactly how much). It's a really tough one as I agree.

Hi Hilsbils We enquired about it but were told that there was a slight risk of damaging the embryo and it was not worth the money spent. However, it is something that I am definitely considering now as have had 2 chemical pregnancies and also very low amh. I am seeing Dr Fakih tomorrow for a chat as not met him yet and he does this and has actually sent me some info on it. I am happy to email it to you if you can put an email up quickly then delete? Good luck.xxx

Very well said Daisy16 and thanks for the interesting link. I am very happy with where I am having treatment but have 'wobbled' slightly when I see the subjective opinions of others on here about my own clinic and also about the others in the UAE, it can be quite unerving and make you question your choice when you would not have before. Whilst I do not dispute the fact that some of the opinions may be useful, It is a very very personal choice and not a one size fits all situation. The only way to form an opinion is to have the consultations with each doctor research the clinics in line with your circumstances and decide for yourself. Good luck and masses of babydust to everyone :)

Thanks Tinker bell. We will get there! No other tips apart from DHEA, Royal Jelly, CQ10. Omega 3 along with pregnacare and folic acid. I also think accupuncture helped me the first time round. I've heard lots of protein helps and did really try to get at least 65g whilst stimming including a litre of milk each day (!). I also cut down on the amount of exercise I was doing in the past and just light walks.....unsure how much of this actually works and how much is fiction but I'm willing to try anything! :) I've also found that trying to keep as stressfree and positive is a help. Lots & lots of luck and babydust to you too.:) xxxx

Hi Tinkerbell My OR was described as 'horrific' - probably due to my 'vintage'. However, I have had 3 ivf's now and got a good number of eggs each time! My first go was successful but sadly the pregnancy didnt last but we have tried again twice and collected eggs each time just not able to implant them yet due to hormone issues (so they are 'on ice'). So PLEASE dont let this upset you or demotivate you. If I can get them then I'm positive you can!! Whilst there is a huge part of me that is anti going on the internet through this process I have to say that the low OR success stories I found really kept/keep me going.xxx p.s. are you on DHEA tablets? edited by confusion on 30/05/2012

Thanks Gray Girl - Good luck to you too! I checked and I was also on 600 plus a growth hormone. I do think on my first cycle it was 900 though but I cant find the paperwork. Either way all was fine. Frist time I did have success but sadly miscarried very early and 2nd time my cycle was cancelled due to my preogesterone levels. Am hoping for 3rd time lucky this time! Here's hoping for that jackpot 3rd time for you too! Good luck :)xxx

Hi Birchy I think my egg collection will be the same as your roughly. It all depends on my scan tomorrow and if things have developled. Am praying like crazy that they have and therefore not trying to even think about EC time yet just in case. PLEASE dont be scared. I was absolutely petrified too as am such a coward and with my last egg collection I was honestly so so surprised at how easy it was. Completely sedated and then just sleep afterwards. A few ladies have a few cramps afterwards but I was very lucky and didnt. The scariest thing was the Canula going in and that was absolutely fine - just like an injection! I had received advise from a lady on here to take some numbing cream and I did but forgot to give it to them and didnt even need it. PLEASE dont be worrying now about that as you dont need to be stressed and you will kick yourself afterwards for worrying at a crucial time. I am with Conceive and very happy but have friends who have used Dr Wael and also very happy so very best of luck. Will be thinking of you. Oh and to give you encouragement it did work for me first time but sadly things didnt develop properly hence I am starting again. Gives me faith though! Sending you lots of luck and that good old babydust :)xxx edited by confusion on 17/05/2012

After my recent miscarriage I completely blamed myself and my age (40) however, I came to realise that SO many of my friends in various countries had also sadly miscarried first time round and not all at my age either. It is too easy to blame yourself particulalry when older and there is no denying that whilst I am now desperatley ttc again I am stressing myself out about the possibility of it happening again which I know will not help. It is a common and sad occurrence that often goes unspoken about for personal reasons which I fully respect. Personally I needed to talk about it and was glad of the support and the success stories following on from previous miscarriages. I am now 41 and not giving up hope. Dangerous blonde - people never cease to amaze me with their 'helpful comments'! I hope all is going well for you! ilovewine - so pleased for you - you give me hope on what is today a 'yucky' day! Congratulations on your precious little bundle! xxx Never give up Confusion. I suffered many miscarriages over many years and presumed that I would never be a mum. I fell pregnant naturally at 41 and went on to deliver the most gorgeous little boy. I then fell pregnant very quickly after having him and sadly miscarried that baby. At the age of 43 I fell pregnant naturally again and delivered my little princess. I had early miscarriages and late miscarriages and each one knocked the stuffing out of me but......I never gave up hope, I know I'm lucky and I thank my lucky stars every night when I tuck them into their beds and kiss their chubby cheeks! Keep positive, relax and enjoy your life - you just don't know what's around the corner. xx Clairehdp - thank you SO much. What a lovely story. So happy that you now have those gorgeous chubby cheeks to kiss goodnight to after all you've been through. Please god I will be able to post on here someday and share a success story. In the meantime, that post has been a real help and motivation to me. THANK YOU.xx

For anyone scared to get preg again for fear of miscarrying again, I would say this is natural and normal. I am seeing my Dr 1 x per week, the first time I went I was crying and shaking so much before the scan (as I thought there would be bad news) that she made me meditate for 10mins to calm me down!! lol! I am taking things 1 day at a time, and rejoice every week when I reach a new week. Passing the point of the last MC is also a big step. As is having great medical care - Dr is taking no risks with me now and has me wearing floaty dresses, flat shoes and thick dark roots haha, no more dangerous blonde!! Hi TBD - may I ask which doctor you are with? Thank you :)

Hello TBD...I'm really not an expert (as you know!) but I have heard that this can be quite normal. I would just ring the doc/clinic if you are really worried but I am sure this is pretty normal. Why not just give them a quick call to put your mind at rest and stop stressing - which is the worst thing you can do. Lots of luck with everything :)

Thanks Dallydoo. Really lovely of you. Good to hear that you are well on your way! I so hope it goes well for you. You may want to tell me to butt out but I had accupuncture just before EC and ET. I know it hasnt worked out well for me in general BUT I did have a BFP so I think on that score things went well. You may already have her number but Dr Ou on 050 6328378. She comes to the house and is lovely and very knowledgeable abut IVF. I also found a link with some quite useful stuff on there re IVF and diet etc (I will try anything to make this work lol!) which I will send to you. Sending you lots of babydust at this time and got everything crossed for you. If all goes to plan I will be stimming again in 2 weeks time and I am already feeling positive about things. Onwards and upwards! I will dig out the link and out it back on this thread for you.xx
