I don't think the baby is yet here Sue62! Have you heard friendship described as the following? A Reason, A Season or A Lifetime. I am far older than you are but when I look back I realise that some of the most important friendships I had died a natural death simply through my being a gipsy and living all over the world for almost 3 decades. However I have some friends that I can pick up with so easily, even without daily or even weekly contact. Try not to feel sad and let down, your lives are very different these days and embrace the changes. Also I hate to say it but woman can be such b*tches, most of us are guilty of it at times!

I am sure it's worth asking at Park Island or Marina Tower as they are both near to you. Marina Tower might be a good option as I know their pool is quite quiet during the day. Ask the concierge if you can speak to the building manager, it was Ana but she might be off on maternity leave as the last time I saw her she was heavily pregnant!

I am sure if you ask the concierge in your building they would arrange for them to use another Emaar buildings pool while they are here, which building are you in? Emaar has Promenade, Park Island, The Quays, Marina Tower, Al Majara and the Original 6 buildings all in the area!

I have used LivingSocial a couple of times and not had any problem, I have only bought service type offers though never anything that had to be delivered - if that makes sense. I have also used Cobone too (again service purchases) and although they are not so efficient administratively I have always had my purchase delivered.

Does anyone have a blank tenancy contract that they can email me so that I can fill it in ready for signing when I eventually meet him? I don't want to leave anything to chance. I have one if you want to leave your email address here.

You can subscribe to a concierge service like Allinque if you want someone to do one off jobs on your behalf, and for advice on anything from finding a kennels to a specialist/doctor who speaks a certain language. http://www.allinque.com/ I do agree that many relocation companies offer the 6 months follow up service 'free' too, I know both Crown and In Touch certainly do.

so Yansoon; 1 bed about 90K? so 65 would be a steal? Yes it would be a steal, do make sure you see copies of the ownership documents/matching passport copy and POA if relevant! Tick all the boxes, sometime these deals are too good to be true!

I used Howdra last week, great cleaning and ironing but they insist you sign a contract (not a problem) but pay a deposit of AED 1000 to have a weekly regular slot, I object to this, so I am trying Helpers this week, and I will keep trying companies until I am happy!

Most tenancy contracts forbid subletting, you might be able to get away with it were the contract in a company's name and you simply update the occupants details with the landlord. Be very carefaul of subletting, if someone wants to break a lease the landlord might be prepared to allow this and write a new lease in the new tennats name but don't be tempted otherwise!

I would not hesitate to go along the invisalign route then your teeth will be straightened for life, with vaneers you are always going to be having to get them replaced. Both my kids had tram tracks but teh results are stunning, so worth the time and money. I have heard invisalign are truly almost invisible why don't you go along and talk to an orthodontist here, my daughter went to Talass, they are expensive but excellent, I am confident to recommend them - her teeth are lovely, an orthodontist in the West End of London asked who did them and was very complimentary! Does anybody know what time the Tennis actually starts in the evening, also what time the Final is? TIA x The evening sessions start at 7pm but in the early days of the tournament there is not generally much of a wait between the afternoon and evening sessions! (Time for a loo break and to grab some food and coffee!).

But Dubai Transport are still making AED 150 million profit a year on a turnover of a billion, according to 7 Days! The taxi situation has got worse, back to the bad old days. We have started to use one of the services that drive you home in your own car so you drive yourself there, arrange the time you want to be picked up and then get chauffeured home. It is working for us.

CP- i know you have already given it to your friend but my DH has a real estate company and the girl that works the lakes is really good and has rented loads out recently in Zulal and Deema. if your interested in her details let me know :) His company can just call the real estate brokers who are already listing it, all these brokers share commission anyway!

Lovely place CP. Is the rent really 240K per year? Have rents in the Lakes gone up that much since 2009? It is the location of the villa that pushes the price up, you can get a smaller Zulal for between 175-200k. The prices have jumped since 2010, supply and demand - The Lakes have become even more desireable.
